Cassandre Living Life
Soups and casserole and sheet pans dinners with whole foods on it are gonna save money Chicken leg quarters cut into pieces Ground turkey, eggs dishes, are cheap Start with 20lb of rice and store it in large containers like from old fashioned oats containers Pancake mix, sugar, 20 lb of potatoes, oats, lentils because they are easier on the stomach Add onion and baby carrots Buy on sale and use the aeaso cabinet you already accumulated

Thank you! I just moved out on my own not to long ago and am still slowly learning how to do things For example I had no idea I could use can of mushroom soup for stroganoff! My family always uses the packet for it Few months ago I was able to get a bunch of the soup on sale, so this will help me work through them

I’ve been homeschooling for 19 years and have considered somehow offering encouragement and info for those who’d like to homeschool, but I’m not even sure where or how to begin, Jamerrill! I’ve been following YOU for years and I think I found you on FHD I’m also nervous at the thought of “how do I know this will generate revenue for us?” What advice do you have for someone like me? Where can we even begin?

I really enjoyed listening to you Interestingly enough WE are approaching retirement, so we are talking opposite ends of the spectrum: however , I am looking at ways to a) build my pantry even more since I will have time snd b) budget saving tips for cooking on a reduced/ limited income Very inspiring story and yep I have been where you were and it was refreshing hearing your story May God continue to inspire you and hopefully I can use some of your tips as I prepare to retire yet cook those bigger family meals maybe once a week for my son and his wife and 2 grand kids

Girl plasma has changed! During the pandemic they shut down child care It still isnt back in Texas, childcare But now its usually $75-$80 per week and sometimes they run deals where you can make $800 in 6 weeks (so anyone who reads this, check your local areas!) I love these tips, I have down so many of them over the years I also grew up with food insecurity and it really changed how i wanted my adult life to be I taught myself all these skills, so I could teach my kids so they wouldn't ever be hungry This was a great video! Oh and if you are in Texas an seeing this, look up town talk! we have a store just like this here Multiple in different areas As I watch your videos I always think, oh man I need to get down there again
Comment from : TheLittleKnappHomestead

Duck
I don’t think powdered milk is as cheap as it used to be but it is a good milk stretcher If whole milk is the same price as 2 you can cut the whole milk with half powdered milk and add water and it can save you some money Peanut butter is also a good stretcher You can put it on top of pancakes with a little syrup and there is supper No meat needed!
Comment from : Duck

Lisa
I haven’t finished watching but I had to pause to say #1 I love to hear about your life and how you got to where you are today And #2 when you said “I’m always tryin to feed somebody” I laughed and teared up… just love your heart!

I am retired and a great grandmother My tiller is broke, so I going to garden in pots, buckets, what ever I can find to put soil in Going to plant tomatoes, okra, simmer squash, zucchini, cantaloupe and some onions I eat Keto as I can I will cook and freeze Canning scares me, I know people that have had the explode If I can get an electric canner, I wouldn't be as afraid I have water bathed, but would prefer to freeze, even tomatoe juice I have to buy a freezer, will do that with tax refund I make big pots of chili or veggie soup and eat on it for days Now when I get the freezer I will freeze leftovers I make my own laundry soap, that saves so much moneybr I buy lots of paper towels and toilet paper and store It is upsetting when family says, I am not making soap or eat leftovers, but they don'tind asking for money for groceries So now I will buy groceries so that I know the little ones will be able to eat Life since retirement is tighter I used to make lard, hominy, and can with me grandmother, she was so frugal If you care to be frugal, after a while it is fun We can do this

Jamie!!! Your hair looks stunning!!!💜💜💜

Tisha Briscoe
For anyone who’s family don’t like leftovers 2 days in a row I batch cook and put the leftovers in the freezer right away So one week I may have to cook everyday but the following weeks I just pull out freezer meals that have already been precooked It saves time and my family don’t “feel” like they’re eating leftovers Even though they totally are 😅

Grocery budgeting is definitely becoming more difficult Prices have gone up, but the budget has gone down a bit Even shipping at the cheapest stores in my area, is impossible to buy much in the way of extras, but even one or two extra things whenever I can add up! I did the math, and I'm currently feeding my family on 267 a day per person!
Comment from : Ms Jo Lollipop

Randi Hager
So I haven't actually sat down to watch you in awhile I have become a working mom outside of the home 5 days a week I have been following you since the beginning and done some of these same things you have done Fast forward to now in my life I have become spoiled and lazy and that has transferred to my children I now spend a MINIMUM of $1,200 a month on groceries I don't even budget Sometimes I spend more and it feels like it's not enough My husband now has worked his way up the ladder, I now make money and I feel like we are a free for all now Which the insane thing is we are still living paycheck to paycheck Our home needs a lot of upgrades which is hard to save for I could easily save my doubling by cutting my groceries Like I have said I have become so lazy and picky I always see negative and complaining comments The truth is people aren't willing to do what has to be done like b**gasp**/b eat the same things two days in a row I am so glad I watched this This spoiled mama needed a reality check I need to get back to what I know

As a single parent when my kids were small, I would buy 5kg (approx 10 lbs) bags of flour, rice, and sugar Also 1kg (2lbs) of milk powder and 10kg (about 20lbs) of potatoes I learned to make all different kinds of bread and cheap cookies and made my own fries, wedges and hash browns brI would ask the butcher for their off cuts of meat, which were really cheap I bought stuff from the fruit and vege shop that had a few bruises or bad spots because they were cheaper I just cut the bad bits off when I got home They didn't taste bad, they just didn't look "perfect" I never bought them soda/fizzy drinks, candy or takeout except on their birthdays if they wanted something So, we got through 🙂

Tip #7 that’s what I do! Spaghetti turns into baked spaghetti! There have only been a few things that I have frozen that didn’t reheat very well it’s worth the effort!

Jill Gott
I am a senior on social security and follow these rules myself brbr1 Set aside a little each week so you can add to your prepping pantry when you find a dealbr2 Never pay full price for meat - stores offer Manager Specials, Clearance, Sales br3 Have a couple of Meatless Meals a week Make it a regular thing and your family will not know money is tight br4 Recognize that nuts, cheese, beans even some vegetables have protein in them so cutting back on meat portions will not compromise your family's nutrition br5 Do not buy sugary drinks, processed snack foods for snacks If you want a crunchy snack opt for Pretzels, Carrots, Crackers br6 Do not purchase small portions of Yogurt for lunchboxes Purchase reusable containers and a larger container of Yogurt saves alot of moneybr7 Fresh fruit has less sugar and calories than dried and has fiber br8 Cut portions a 1/2 banana is fine for most adults and children If they are really hungry they can eat the other half otherwise give it to another petsonor put it in the refrigerator This cuts down on wasted food Add the 1/2 they ate to eat to Oatmeal for breakfast or snack, add PB and Banana together for a snack or to top Toast br9 For children cut grapes in half, bananas in half, apple in quarters and divvy these out to kids Add crackers, carrots, homemade hummus or peanut butter to make a filling quick lunch or snack br10 Soft even a little brown bananas can be used in cooking, on toast as a spread or to make a " banana ice cream" adding cocoa to the mixture or peanut butter will hide any discoloration on the bananas which are fine to eat br11 Water is a fine drink for most if three day Limit coffee and tea for adults and milk for kids they will not be stunted in their growth if they have 1 glass of milk or 1/2 glass and milk on their cereal Remember, Cheese has calcium as does Yogurt, Cottage Cheese so they do not need multiple glasses of Milk a day unless ordered by a doctor br12 Make an appointment with a Nutritionist or get books from the library learning about nutrition will give you confidence to reduce portions while providing healthy foods br13 Look out for bargains everywhere Buying gas and the convenience store has marked fresh fruit down as it has not sold you may want to pick it up br14 Take easy to eat snacks on road trips or when doing errands String Cheese, fruit, nuts, crackers, pretzels and water will satisfy any hunger cravings and need for fast food br15 Make family favorites cheaper You can use Cottage Cheese and an egg in place of Ricotta to make Lasagna br16 Bread outlet stores can save you 40-55 off store prices on bread items br17 Do not dump dry cereal in a bowl For young kids have mom or dad using a measuring cup place cereal in their bowl Older children can do the same Once you add milk, a piece of fruit even toast you have a filling breakfast no need to waste food br18 Fresh food better than dried and better than juice Provides Vitamins, Fiber can be included as part of any meal or as a snack br19 Do not always serve sugary desserts after a meal br20 Do not always rely on carbs for calories Include some in a meal yes but including several vegetables will bulk up the meal as well as keep it nutritious

No other video has EVER helped me feel connected to a YouTuber like this one did As soon as you mentioned donating plasma and your scar, I got you I started off as a single mom of two adopted children One from birth with lots and lots of setbacks, the other was 3 and had a very hard life already I also took care of my parents during that time My mother is disabled with strokes They would watch my kids, and I worked 60-hour weeks in the medical field I would donate plasma for the extra things, birthdays, holidays, and school clothes It was so freakin hard I grew up with an alcoholic abusive father who later in life found sobriety I grew up raising my younger sisters, and we struggled so hard I feel everything you said because I lived it brI'm so blessed now, I have 4 sons and wonderful husband who works hard for his family It allows me to have spent the last 5 years home with our youngest son as well as there for all the many appointments our special boys have My family jokes about food hoarding because of my 3 freezers and 2 pantries of food, but my babies will never be hungry We by no means have lots of money, but my hard life made me learn to save, pinch, and prepare for the hard timesbrIt was never and still isn't easy However, folks 5 years make a lifetime of difference, so don't ever give up Try your hardest and love every second brThank you for this video it was so refreshing to have someone remind me I'm not alone

First, I want to say you are wonderful! I’ve loved watching your videos from the beginning and I watch them all the way through! You are also super intelligent! You remind me so much of my wonderful mother She and my dad had to skimp for many years because they were poor when they got married in 1928and they had to go through the Great Depression! Having a small farm that his granny gave them, helped them so much They raised one hog each year, butchered it, and sold the hams to a doctor With the money, they managed to buy groceries they had to have Mother cooked from scratch and wasted nothing! People can manage if they think and try! Your family is blessed because of you! You have a wonderful husband, too! May God bless you and your children!
Comment from : Jan H

Dianne Eaddy
When I tell you I respect you soooooo much !!! Because you are not afraid to let us know the reality of things when you and your husband had to get in the mud literally to find the money and provide !!! The plasma experience I really appreciated because I know that decision was hard but a smart one !!! Thank you so much for sharing girl !! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

If you are In Texas and near an HEB they have a program called fresh or free You go and look through the shelves and find any expired items and they will give you a not expired one for free If you take a buddy you can get double and trade items at the end if you find something they won’t eat or vise versus That is how I fed me and my husband when I was in college Idk if they still have that program but it was amazing!

We used it with our first child and it gave us $70/month in produce & all the good things you mentioned There’s absolutely no shame in getting the benefits that are available when they can help you We now make too much to qualify for any types of benefits but life is still paycheck to paycheck and we’re so thankful for all the tips we’ve learned from you and other budgeting mamas on here We found a store similar to sharp shopper about a half hour from us and my son loves getting to see all the special fun treats we can pickup for such great prices!brbrWe also started freezing all of our leftovers into Individual portions when there’s not enough to Rees us another meal for my husbands lunches Saved so much skipping all the sandwich meat at the store & left us with zero waste from our meas

The fascinating thing to me is that everyone says you had such hard times Something says to me that you didn't see it that way You had challenges but I think you had faith that God would provide a way and kept smiling for the most part and enjoying your life and your family, knowing your heavenly Father had you in His hands I just can't see a lot of weeping and gnashing of teeth in your story I'm sure you had to pull yourself out of some stinkin' thinkin ' moments but you did it and soldiered on with that same glorious smile that beams from your face today Can I have a thumbs up on that?

I have tried to sell everything and anything I can think of soap, crochet, bath bombs, cakes, cookies, cupcakes and nothing has taken off I am going to keep at it and hope my online shop will produce something I started it two months ago with no sales yet but I hope it will give me some money to buy groceries I do go to the church every Friday to get some food for my family of four
