The Guild D240E is a very good value and entirely good enough guitar for a local pro caliber player Vey good if you play with nails use 11-52 string sets in 80/20 makeup about $300-350 new with electronics, nice padded Cordura case, and Waverly superior tuners

Taylor 114e is the VFM winner in this review Clear for me Although if you were using less compression in recordings, maybe we could have a clearer perspective Especially at highs Humble opinion :)

So when you describe a laminate back and sides in mahogany is that all wood like plywood or does it have actual laminate in it which would mean melamine? And I agree with the comment about where is the seagull S6

I have owned my Taylor 114e since 2010 and will recommend it as an outstanding instrument for the price It is a great guitar that only gets better with time It punches way above its weight class, and will rival any guitar that costs twice as much I have a couple of higher end guitars, but I consider the 114e a lifetime instrument

Two things Who does a sound test with construction noise blaring through ? Who doesn't know that all solid wood guitars sound far better than plywood garbage ? The Epiphone Masterbilt DM400 CE is all solid wood spruce top, mahogany back and sides with a cutaway and electronics and easily fits in this price range They blow any laminate guitar out of the water Anyone who has played one knows it The only people who deny it have never played one
