Pls do some more research you didn’t need to use a hacksaw or file to do that and doing what you did on a metal lathe with no tool rest is a great why to get killed don’t debur on the lathe like that either just buy a debur tool run it on the edge

Young man, I'll make no comment about your machine handling and practice save for one thing, I see you are using a file WITHOUT a handle or a bit of hard tube rammed on the tang I can assure you that you will only have the pointed tang rammed into your wrist once by some slip of the file on the job in the lathe, you will not do it twice :-|
