I've had a harbor freight low profile jack for probably 10 years now, just had to use it today and it worked without issues, I paid $75 I like almost everything Ive purchased from them aside from a set of screw drivers which was really bad

I use electric winches these are ok and warn winches are the absolute worst winch I have ever put on my vehicle Super winch is the best so far Sherpa is a close second Get about 2 weeks out of a warn because they are wore out out of the box

Even thier newer "good stuff" is overpriced for the quality you get back , is it was better than old harbor freight sure major step up however they aren't making that stuff its re branded tools made by other manufacturers (nothing new) but thier version us priced higher than the oem they use

That red strap that hangs on the hook has a small purpose It is meant to give you something to tug on other than a hot hook They dont last long in the AZ sun

I'm curious if anyone has an Apex 12000lb unmounted and could share if there's any chance of removing all the bits to ship in two boxes and getting the main body down under 70lbs, with box (for priority mail to APO)? brbrShipping weight of the synthetic version is 8255lbs from HF Taking off the line should save about 5lbs, but not sure how much the hook, control box, remote and cables could save Thanks for any help!

If you want to see this winch and action look at Matt's off-road the main wenches they use are usually harbor freight just because the price point they did use Warren in the earlier episodes but they switched a Badland once it came

It’s easy to be snobby about harbor freight compared to Lowes or Home Depot, but the price difference is make or break for a lot of folks! I have a couple nice tools from a big box store but plenty of HF tools are good enough for the job and saved me hundreds of dollars!! Value is a component to overall quality

One question If they are so good why is it a Warn has a lifetime mechanical warranty and a 7 year electronics warranty and the Badlands ( according to their website) has a 90 day? Yes I know you can buy 3 of those for the cost of one Warn but if you're stuck in the middle of nowhere and your winch fails what good is that Also you can buy a Superwinch with a lifetime mechanical and 5 year electronics warranty for about the same money as a Badlands! But I will admit HF is definitely getting better at their quality But I will stick with paying more for a quality tool thats as important as a winch

All their Pittsburgh tools are warrantied, you break a socket or wrench or ratchet or something you just take it back and they will give you a new one The quality of Harbor Freight has vastly improved since they first came around Their stuff isn’t the best but a lot of it hangs up there with some of the top brands Some of their air impacts and stuff are made in the same factories as some of the big brands and are almost identical in torque tests etc i have seen a lot of tool test comparisons and they hang with the big boys

There's nearly 30 lbs difference from wire line The controller doubles as wired or remote The winch is water proof If you cross a creek and submerge it is is good

I'll tell you what, that remote is the shiznittles, I love mine! Walking out the winch with a remote is amazing and you can pull the vehicle to you just stand at the anchor point 👌 dont gotta go back through the mud or have a buddy help you out I recommend going with friends anyways but yeah this looks like a nice winch thanks for the review

Warn is no longer the "industry standard", hasn't been for a while This winch will not leave you stranded Got alot of buddies that have been stranded by a Warn Warn is WAAAAAY overpriced I run Apex with full confidence It has pulled me and many a Yeep out of some messes and it is still running strong You really can't go wrong with an Apex

Badlands winches are legitimate winners, super tough and reliable

You can use a roller fairing with the synthetic, as long as you have no damage to the surface of the rollers It also has a beeter chance of not hurting or melting the rope becasue of friction if your angle is steeper than normal But steel is better for heavy use The steel cable helps to cool the motor And under heavy use the heat of the motor can damage the synthetic rope

I recently found the Sherp 4x4 winch They are more than a Badland but less than a Warn They soaked a winch under salt water for 4 weeks and it still ran like a champ The video is on YouTube It is just another option on the price scale
