Ok I’ve been known to Harbor Freight a time or two, but I wince, because China is stamped on the things I buy there If I buy a Winch, I’m thinking USA regardless of price I mean, Jobs, right?brOr is warn foreign too?br“I can Sh!t in a box and stamp a guarantee on it, but at the end of the day…”, Tommy Boy Comment from : Quatto Vallor |

Even thier newer "good stuff" is overpriced for the quality you get back , is it was better than old harbor freight sure major step up however they aren't making that stuff its re branded tools made by other manufacturers (nothing new) but thier version us priced higher than the oem they use Comment from : hondo |
I've been using them for awhile If someone gave me a new Warn equivalent I'd sell it and buy a few HF winches Comment from : Jerry Goller |
Disappointed that the basis for this test was bells & whistles, and NOT functionality and comparison in the field Comment from : D K |

Looks great! Getting good reviews! And 5/600 as opposed to 1800/2000+ Hell ya!!!brbrI wouldn't need one often!! But planning to tour the US and would like to have one jic I got stuck somewhere!? Would save a huge wrecker bill!! And if ur all alone off grid I mean help could be a while coming if any at all!? So this might be a consideration!? I mean for me that's a massive chunk of change!!!! AND ain't no one giving me one for free!!! SO I need good and cheap combo!! Comment from : Darlene Luttrell |
That red strap that hangs on the hook has a small purpose It is meant to give you something to tug on other than a hot hook They dont last long in the AZ sun Comment from : Dolores B |

I'm curious if anyone has an Apex 12000lb unmounted and could share if there's any chance of removing all the bits to ship in two boxes and getting the main body down under 70lbs, with box (for priority mail to APO)? brbrShipping weight of the synthetic version is 8255lbs from HF Taking off the line should save about 5lbs, but not sure how much the hook, control box, remote and cables could save Thanks for any help! Comment from : Ray Smith |
Isn’t this the SAME exact winch thate broke and failed here recently??!!☝️🤔🤔!! I literally shattered I believe???☝️🤔🤔 Comment from : Campbell73 |

These are very good winches Megan used a lot with this off-road recovery team out in Arizona Comment from : kcox593 |
If you want to see this winch and action look at Matt's off-road the main wenches they use are usually harbor freight just because the price point they did use Warren in the earlier episodes but they switched a Badland once it came Comment from : brandon diblasio |
Never stand near the winch while operating, that is why there are no winch controls on the winch itself Comment from : Almon Jacob |

I don't know which Zeon you looking also but the 10-s platinum with synthetic rope on warm site is 2700$ Comment from : Five Nines Fine |
If it's a real dyneem rope it's twice as strong as wire cable and wears a lot better also if it snaps it will just lay down and not take your head off Comment from : Five Nines Fine |
nice benchmade knife! Comment from : jzn 707 |
It’s easy to be snobby about harbor freight compared to Lowes or Home Depot, but the price difference is make or break for a lot of folks! I have a couple nice tools from a big box store but plenty of HF tools are good enough for the job and saved me hundreds of dollars!! Value is a component to overall quality Comment from : Sinrock’s Survival |
HARBOR FREIGHT is amazing Comment from : Kyle |

I know your video is a year old now, but why did you pull the splashproof silicone cover off the remote? Comment from : M3KXZ |
Quality, for less money nice Comment from : Tom Stradinger |
One question If they are so good why is it a Warn has a lifetime mechanical warranty and a 7 year electronics warranty and the Badlands ( according to their website) has a 90 day? Yes I know you can buy 3 of those for the cost of one Warn but if you're stuck in the middle of nowhere and your winch fails what good is that Also you can buy a Superwinch with a lifetime mechanical and 5 year electronics warranty for about the same money as a Badlands! But I will admit HF is definitely getting better at their quality But I will stick with paying more for a quality tool thats as important as a winch Comment from : Howard Gilman |
HF winches are legit Comment from : Keltingr |
Warn over priced not worth the price Comment from : Richard Amick |
I broke down my warn 12000 and, to my surprise, stamped "made in China" Comment from : timber tuggy |
All their Pittsburgh tools are warrantied, you break a socket or wrench or ratchet or something you just take it back and they will give you a new one The quality of Harbor Freight has vastly improved since they first came around Their stuff isn’t the best but a lot of it hangs up there with some of the top brands Some of their air impacts and stuff are made in the same factories as some of the big brands and are almost identical in torque tests etc i have seen a lot of tool test comparisons and they hang with the big boys Comment from : Connor Riley |
Junk Three of these failed on me Plus all three stopped letting me power out JUNK Comment from : Broncos and Parts Garage |
I like how you’re running your knife all over the synthetic cable nice! Comment from : LS 66 |

The product was given to you for free, making this a paid review That being said, I trust you to give me your honest opinion I'm a Warn guy as well and have been considering purchasing this very winch Comment from : Mud Puddle |
Don't forget it's still made in China Check out Zeak winches That's what I bought I also have an extensive background in the category mostly logging Marine and recovery oopsDandahermit Comment from : Dandahermit Seals |
So mine cost about a quarter of the WarnDsndahermit Comment from : Dandahermit Seals |
Is this just an unboxing or are you planning to demonstrate n test it? I just bought a 13000 lb winch that looks exactly like it but better build quality I paid $361 for it It's a beast I was a hold out for nylon line but decided to check it out Dandahermit Comment from : Dandahermit Seals |
There's nearly 30 lbs difference from wire line The controller doubles as wired or remote The winch is water proof If you cross a creek and submerge it is is good Comment from : Dandahermit Seals |
I'll tell you what, that remote is the shiznittles, I love mine! Walking out the winch with a remote is amazing and you can pull the vehicle to you just stand at the anchor point 👌 dont gotta go back through the mud or have a buddy help you out I recommend going with friends anyways but yeah this looks like a nice winch thanks for the review Comment from : Ryan D |
Warn is no longer the "industry standard", hasn't been for a while This winch will not leave you stranded Got alot of buddies that have been stranded by a Warn Warn is WAAAAAY overpriced I run Apex with full confidence It has pulled me and many a Yeep out of some messes and it is still running strong You really can't go wrong with an Apex Comment from : Gabriel Reyes |
I wanna work for you I'm from the northwest Comment from : Craig Linnemeyer |
Thanks for being so real just like my pop! We need more strong men Keep pushing forward! Comment from : Hugh Arrington |
Badlands winches are legitimate winners, super tough and reliable Comment from : Combo Nation |
You can use a roller fairing with the synthetic, as long as you have no damage to the surface of the rollers It also has a beeter chance of not hurting or melting the rope becasue of friction if your angle is steeper than normal But steel is better for heavy use The steel cable helps to cool the motor And under heavy use the heat of the motor can damage the synthetic rope Comment from : Seeker64 |
I just bought there lower priced 12K one for $34900 Just for my Car hauler Going to try it out today Comment from : Seeker64 |
Just drop that remote in a zip lock bag Boom water proof Comment from : DJnutsack |
Why does the box show the fairlead mounted to the winch and the sketchy instructions allude to mounting directly to the winch body but there are no mounting holes for the fairlead?? Comment from : KLM Builders |
Still ok? Comment from : jequinlan3 |
Litebrite has a Badland winch on stepchild Comment from : mays9185 |
I recently found the Sherp 4x4 winch They are more than a Badland but less than a Warn They soaked a winch under salt water for 4 weeks and it still ran like a champ The video is on YouTube It is just another option on the price scale Comment from : Otter Creek Farm Bush Hogging & Hobby Farming |
Well, the evo warn I was looking at for $800 is made in China I may as well buy this one for $200 less and get a winch comparable to the Zeon Why break the bank if it works so well? Comment from : Stinky Mc stinkerton |
