I go hiking with my daughter, I live in Australia so there's never shortage You can always see some kind of wildlife about, kangaroos, koalas, snakes, lizards etc Bring a picnic and it's a day activity There's also many dog parks, I bring my furr babies and you get to know regulars who go there It's a real community I swear

1Our family loves to walk in the rain Most of the time we don't use umbrellas, but if it's really coming down, umbrellas are necessary I have a terminal illness, so we capture every moment/ memory we canbr2When I was well, we did obstacle courses, too The only thing different was that team memberes had to run the course carrying a teammate on his/her back When the end of the course was reached, we traded and had to make it back to the Start line carrying the other one on our backs Or we would run the course tied to each otherbr3 Slip and slide! We had a hill in our back yard and would put baby shampoo and water on a large piece of plastic It was so much fun to run and slide down the hill When our kids became tweens and teens, my husband purchased a #10 can of chocolate pudding We would put on old stained clothes and hubby would put chocolate pudding on the plastic rather than soap After washing the chocolate clothes, we'd cut them up to become cleaning rags (We had to be hosed down outside before coming in the house That was fun as well)

I love to spin cotton and knit Once supplies are purchased it days hours and days and weeks to complete a project The time spent and enjoyment with that comes down to pennies for the supplies

When my husband and I led our church's youth group we did a fast food progressive supper (dinner) We would stop at different fast food places for appetizer, main course, dessert, etc We chose to keep the cost down to make it very affordable for the kids n we had so much fun It does cost but like I said get the lesser more affordable foods

If you go to your library website you will find overdrive, an app you can download onto your smartphone which has many current books in audio and text It is great! Cookbooks too

Reminds me of the time we took our grandchildren to Michael's to paint animals on rocks The youngest grandson started painting his brother's t-shirt while he was wearing it Holy smokes, it was fun! Will always have great memories of those free craft classes

I love how many of your ideas are so family oriented that bring families closer which is so wonderful I also like the ideas that bless and help others I live in Erie, PA and when our kids were small we did a staycation The Pontoon boat rides on the lake were free and on Tuesday’s you could go up our Bicentennial Tower at no cost We also have free concerts in the summer For adults there are free winery tours When my daughter was a Girl Scout I obtained some paper placemats from a nursing home that they used for their meals and the girls decorated them It was a great activity that didn’t cost our troop any money and the residents loved them! I look forward to your videos each week You guys are so fun to watch Thanks Hope and Larry!

On a random day toward the end of summer I would tell the kids first thing in the morning “It’s Parkpalooza Day” We would pack a few snacks and a picnic lunch and go from park to park that day We hit parks that had different types of playground equipment and always had a blast!

Such good ideas, I still look up local tourism! My parents had an old cabin at a lake & on weekends (except winter) we would hang out there & relax, walk, play board games, read on the hammock, swim, & grill There was NO landline & it was before smartphones existed The neighbor lived there year round & had a phone that we had to use only one time We did that for about 10 years Those memories are the best & I miss those times!Love the homemade boom box 👍🏼

My children's Kingdergsrden teacher did a teddy bears journal, a little creativity it might work for a family every few days Teddy bear & his journal My child of course wanted our whole family of 5 to go to the fast food with the big play land nope not happing, he had our planned dinner shake and bake sale chicken pilaf, veggie, after dinner I quickly made brownies for dessert, enjoyed by all, Teddy even write they were the vest he ever had, before he went off to the next family pks Note I vet these were the only brownies hed ever had! By the end if the year everyone had had teddy as a guest he webt ti many churches and grabdmas hoyses for dinner The chikdren practicedbthere writing skills-and everyone ( parents& siblings had fun)

My grandmother would give my family a jigsaw puzzle every Christmas, and we would sit and talk for hours and hours together, working on it over Boxing Day and the following days Eventually, she got us one that was so hard, it was 10,000 pieces and took up so much room that the dining table could barely hold it!!! It was great fun and a wonderful way to hear all the stories from the past year!

In the winter, we often combine setting up a card table and doing a jigsaw puzzle, and watching a Christmas or Hallmark movie at my parents house My mom is always sure to tell me when she has picked out our winter puzzles 😊 Family time is the best!! ❤️
