I wish I could tell my past self to avoid the purchases and put that money towards my home and investments so that my future self could spend more time with my family when they truly need me My heart melted when you had that special moment with your son on camera I miss those small moments with my son (who is now 25 and in a very dangerous job) I am taking control of our finances now that all the decluttering/organizing has been completed in years past (simple living) 2022 is about being INTENTIONAL with finances so that my next 15 years before retirement can have a dramatic impact for my and my husband's future selfs

Also a grateful frugal minimalist in training This year I am focusing on using the food in the pantry I already have I generally plan meals by looking in the fridge and freezer and maybe use a can of vegetables or a box of Velveeta But this year I am digging deep and using all the items or donating somewhere It really is silly to keep buying food knowing we probably have enough for a month or two Honestly I need to take inventory and start planning I am new to your channel and love your content

Love these tips! My washing machine is the one my parents had when I was a baby (29 years ago) and dad had it in storage for about 10 years and I have been using it for the last 5ish years and its still going strong I won't replace it until the day it dies

I moved and downsized to a smaller house and filled one bedroom and one outdoor shed with “stuff” 2022 will be devoted to sorting, trashing, donating and organizing that stuff for a more minimal lifestyle

Never lose a sock: fasten your socks together with a safety pin just below the top on the inside Your socks go to your drawer & through the laundry together They are only separated while on your feet with the safety pin tucked safely inside your sock Works like a charm!

I set an an “allowance “ amount for my husband and myself each week At the end of the week I stake all the one dollar bills and put away Last year we were able to buy a new washer with that money…no I didn’t pay in all $1’s

Great video! I’m giving a lot of focus to decluttering, too, because with my physical limitations from the RA, being buried in stuff just makes everything in life so much more difficult I’ve been working on it a bit every day, as my energy level permits - some days I kick ass, other days I may only manage five minutes But holy moly, the difference it has already made is amazingbrbrThe one person who has helped me the most with this is Dana K White I have her books about decluttering, and her perspective has simply clicked with me Looking at my house as a container, and the dressers, cupboards, shelves within my house as containers has really made a difference I have *this much * space, no more - no amount of “organizing” can magically increase the amount of space in my home😆 So, I can only keep the amount of stuff that will fit comfortably in this space, in such a way that everything I keep is handy for me and useable Seems like a simple idea, but boy, did it hit me like a ton of bricks I’ve been letting go of *so much stuff * after looking at my home and my possessions in this way

My husband and I worked so hard this year paying off debt so next year we will sit back and begin reaping the rewards One thing I would strongly recommend is sitting down New Year's Eve and make set both long term goals and month-to-month goals for 2022 With that saidALWAYS keep in mind that life happens so when it does just get back up, dust yourself off and keep on truckin' I have found that simply saying "I am paying off debt" is not enough to keep a person motivated because there isn't anything to measurebut setting goals gives you that "mile marker" needed for motivation brMost importantly make 2022 yours!!!!! You all got this!!!!

A few tipsI live in New England also, so I try to plan ahead and buy things needed so that I don't have to go out in the snow so much shopping in the winter I have Walmart + which has been a help I save on time, gas, avoidance of crowds 🙂 Anything I do need is shipped free to my home or delivered Don't plan to do any more shopping in December (avoidance of crowds and temptation to buy) and very little in January Looking forward to your no spend - I'd like to use down the pantry a bit I have what I need as far as toiletries and a full pantry and am blessed! When you live on a limited income planning ahead is essential I have electric heat (challenging) but turn it down low in the rooms that I don't utilize much Try to be home more than not to save on gas Focus in 2022 will be paying off debt and trying to save a little more Looking forward to what you have in store in 2022! Don't overfill your washer or dryer Also, dry like with like Check every half hour or so and pull washing out and give it a shake and replace Sheets tend to ball up and dry unevenly so checking prevents this

Thanks Kate I needed this reminder especially using up what I have I do ise coupons that I get for free due to my large family It's so tempting to buy something because it's such a good deal however, I need to really use up what I have first In the upcoming year I would like to do a freezer pantry challenge to see how much it saves me on my grocery bill but I would buy a little produce to get us through but it could really help offset my Christmas spending What ever I am not cheap with I can make up for it later and really challenge myself
