Cash feels like monopoly money, it's gone with flashing of an eye Digital is very clear, when, how much, how many times do spent it in de week/ monthbrbrKeep a proteinbar or some nuts or (dried) fruits, a yoghurt you diveded at home in tupperware containert to pull you througha half a stockcube can be aifesaver at the end of the day

With all due respect, I disagree with the cash vs card spending There have been scientific studies that show it actually affects our brain more when we spend our cash vs using a card it doesn’t affect our brain as much - Dave Ramsey graduate

Things I do everyday to save money are eat at home, take food to work for lunch, yes take advantage of free spring water at work, avoid shopping after work, have premade meals at home from my batch cooking that I can just stick in the microwave to heat up Engage in free entertainment ie a walk, talking on phone, YouTube, online games, reading, making and selling things on Facebook
Comment from : Carrie Smith

Comment from : Christina Barrick

Barbara Hollands
Yes! I use my credit cards (just 2) for almost everything It helped tremendously during my divorce to show what my expenses were over 5 years Now it helps keep me under control I always pay them off every month During the divorce I saw how my ex would take out huge loans on them and juggled money It taught me that I wanted to avoid borrowing any of that money
Comment from : Barbara Hollands

Documentation doesn't have to be electronic Ask for receipts from cash and record them on your computer if you must But a small log also works Been doing it for fifty years If people buy often they may think that's too much effort/labour I'm so frugal I rarely have three entries a week :)

I love the ‘paper trail’ ideal I’ve just worked on my budget yesterday & had to think really hard on how much I spent on the coffee shop as I made the purchase via cash instead of debit I’m starting to love the debit over cash for this reason
Comment from : Patricia Delorme

Grace
Yes coffee at home!!! A co-worker buys coffee at a drive thru everyday but complains of never having enough money and every time I see it I think in my mind cha Ching 💵 there’s that extra cash

I can see benefits to both cash and card For me, cash works best for some things because I have trouble with impulse purchases from amazon XD It's something I'm working on When I get better control of my spending I will certainly go card only I love Chinese food so I taught my self how to make fried rice its not perfect but to me i actually prefer my home made one because I can season it to my specific tastes which is a HUGE benefit to making food at home I have started cooking form home every day This is month two and ive gone out to eat one time and that was for my 29th birthday
Comment from : EnasReadingNook

You know what saves you money? Being veganI am more like a flexitarian(vegan most of the time),but even if I buy plant-based milk which is more expensive than dairy, not buying eggs, cheese or meat regularly will save you a lot of moneyContrary to what some might think, cooking vegan is not hard and could be tasty tooIf you want to lose weight,a healthy vegan diet can help you lose weight too YouTube teaches so much

Great thoughts Kate Thank you Regards the drinking water for your friends' sons who want costly fizzy drinks - here in UK we can buy fruit squashes to dilute with plain water and make it more palatable My favourites are apple and blackcurrant and apple and elderflower but there are so many varieties to choose from including no added sugar and sugar free versions I know that in other countries these squashes/cordials may be hard to find or not even available but might be worth a look at your store Best wishes

Try lemon water Adding a twist adds flavor, and is a health food Even chew off a little piece of the end of it One recommendation is put the lemon, peel and all in the blender, grind it up and mix with your water

Coffee at home is so much better for the environment! Have you seen the huge mountain of single use cups thrown away each year! It´s shocking (and when you imagine such a mountain not just in your country)! I always make my coffee at home and enjoy it in peace and quiet and not on the go! Hugs from Germany ♥

Sometimes I save money by not actually looking at the grocery flyers This is when I only need one or two things and the flyers only seem to give me ideas about things i want but don't actually need If I don't know what's on sale, I can just pop into the store, pick up the two items i do need and spend $10 instead of $50 knowing i already have all my basics at home
Comment from : Paula Costello

Stephanies Art Studio
The only cash stuffing I do is what I take out once a month for spending money The rest I manage online and keep a notebook to track everything I'm old school when it comes to record keeping Any spending money I have left over for the month is rolled over to the following month Or for any extra saving challenges I am doing At the end of the year, I turn my coins in and add half to long term savings and the other half to my emergency fund This system is working for me so far
Comment from : Stephanies Art Studio

Any suggestions on how to save on a tight budget with a sick child? My 4 year old son has so many hospital visits, MRIs, CT scans, etc and they are all 45 hours away He will be having brain surgery this week and staying in the hospital for awhile We have to get a hotel, meals, gas, etc and it’s draining I was hoping to save more, spend less but it seems impossible 😞
Comment from : Carly Lixey

Donna Lackey
Make a category of spending for fixed expensive (trying to lower electric from month to month) what I spend on groceries clothing etc Try to reduce each month
Comment from : Donna Lackey

Donald Stulp
I agree with SWIPE I can look at my registry and see where I’m spending foolishly Tip: print out a free check registry and write down every single dollar spent every day Add it up Woah! You spent how much at the gas station on Diet Coke?? Cigarettes? (I hope not!) etc keep track and you’ll see where it’s going As you know, I’ve been emptying closets and drawers and listing the stuff on eBay They pay the shipping so you lose nothing! I have a deer family from Home interiors that’s at $50! No longer sitting in my closet free! I’ve made $1000 extra money Don’t decide what won’t sell List it!
Comment from : Donald Stulp
