I’ve only ever had two iPods, an iPod 4th gen with a black and white screen, and an iPod touch 4th gen The first one made school bus trips more bearable as I didn’t have to listen to the bus driver’s radio station choice The second one lasted well after my time in college as my computer at the time couldn’t connect to the iPhone I had, so I was briefly rocking an iPod touch and an iPhone simultaneously Once I upgraded to a new Mac, the iPod touch joined my retired tech

I had the Nano 4 Technically and designwise a very nice product but I hated it for not letting me drag and drop music onto it without iTunes After using it for a few weeks I gave it to my girlfriend and said goodbye to Apple for good

For terms of listening to while studying and portability, i would say, the nano 7th genbrbrI like it because of how thin it is and the limited space for media, there's a paradox of choice when you can cram your whole library into an ipod The nano makes you choose your favorites brbrbrBut i love my modded classic, i haven't really had to charge it for like a 3rd of a year

I really don't remember paying for the update to my 1st Gen iPod Touch And after I purchased it, they released the 32GB model So, I returned my 16GB The processor was bad though So, I agree there Just outside of a year, I had to visit apple due to it excessive lag, and they just said "you know how older products are", "Huh!?" 😂

55 gen iPod was the last iPod I think to feature a Wolfson DAC which is important if you miss the warm sound of the earlier models, and the 5 upgrade gave it a search function and I think more RAM It's what I use regularly now with 512GB solid state storage installed, and like you I had a 3G iPod that I used from 2003 to at least 2015, with an upgraded 80GB drive installed It couldn't sync over FW400 anymore after the upgrade and I tried to find some firmware fix but never could The HDD broke sometime in 2016 or so but I still have it

Afraid you couldn't be any more wrong on the 7th Gen Nano It's the best Nano made by Apple Its Bluetooth capabilities still make it relevant with Apple products, such as their entire AirPod line, and the Lightning port kept it relevant with speaker docks (at least 3rd party ones) for many years to come Hell, you can even charge an Apple Pencil with it! Did I mention 4 different kinds of remote controls (not counting the screen and side controls) can be used with it simultaneously? That's 6 options! Even the iPhone doesn't do that! And let's not forget, Apple sold this Nano for 5 years If it's such a terrible product like you suggest, it would have been shit canned quickly You did not properly or remotely extoll the 7th Gen's features I rank your review of the 7th Gen Nano as an "F"

The 120GB model you list as classic 7th Gen is actually the Gen 6 rev1 aka"65 Gen" Apple released the 160GB classic 6 Gen rev2 aka "7th gen" in Sept 2009

I have a Classic 55, A Nano 5, Nano 6, Touch 6, and a Touch 7 The Classic is the best, the Nano 5 is my favorite, the Nano 6 is the coolest, the Touch 4 is the "coolest back in the day", and the Touch 6 and 7s were " just because" sentimental 2nd hand purchases I need to get A shuffle just to complete my collection! I use my iPods on a daily basis because they give me more control over what I listen to And because a lot of places still have mousey cell coverage

Well in terms of iOS 7 on the iPod touch 4g it had only 256MB of Ram instead of the 512 on the iPhone 4, so I kind of assume iOS 7 wouldn’t run that well on the iPod even on the iPhone 4 it wasn’t great

honestly think id swap 1st and 2nd gen ipods, the 2nd gen didnt improve bthat/b much on the 1st gen but i kinda see it less as a successor and more as the "final" version of the original gen, like an ipod 1s almost, like the 1st gen was the initial buggy product and the 2nd gen was the final, perfected version

The 3rd Gen iPod Touch did come in 64 Gigs, and I think you kind of glossed over that because you gave the 4th Gen iPod Touch a nod for it's "increased storage" that topped out at 64 Gigs For me, this is the best iPod ever made My reasoning for that isn't because of software this, or DAC that It's by far the most reliable Apple product I've ever owned, and probably the best Apple product I'll ever own because I can still use it today, easily I bought mine around December of 2009, and I used it daily until about two years ago It's never had a battery replacement either Heck, at one point in time I used the browser function to order a new power supply for my PC that died and could not be used This 3rd Gen iPod Touch carried me through so many road trips, career improvements, my first home, new cars The DAC was better at paying Podcasts, and while musically it wasn't quite up to the 5th Gen, it was still really goodbrbrI did buy a 7th Gen, and I'm glad to own it I needed the extra storage, because the 64 Gigs meant that I had to make cuts to my musical playlist However, mine has not been as reliable as the 3rd Gen was and still continues to be, but it does it's job well enough

ok well im still using the nano 6 as a watch i made a video on my crappy channel about the perfect bluetooth adaptor i found for it also found a really cheap 2nd hand strap that looks and feels really good as well as a bezel thing that doesnt make it clunky idk for being an OG apple watch that doesnt spy on me, has a headphone jack, and also the battery lasts 4 weeks at a time that is to say i only charge it once a month lol its pretty legit too bad no one ever put out a jailbreak, coz it has internal gyros that could theoretically enable gesture screen on controls owell, its battery is the size of a chicklet and with daily use it lasts for over a month rofl this is what we gave up when we let our devices spy on us

Always thought it was weird that Apple killed off the iPod touch Schools used them a lot I also used to work Point of Sale and we had a lot of businesses that used them hooked up to scanners and different things and used them with different Point of Sale Software, Security monitoring on the go, even stores using them to do their inventory among many other things It seemed like there was still a market for them

Kinda weird to think my only experience with an iPod is near the end of it's product category, the Touch 5 It was nice while I used it regularly, I liked how small and light it was and it lasted me through high school and college But it also made me realize I didn't much care for iOS and the small screen size eventually got to me that in the last years before buying my phone, I barely used the thing So thank you iPod, you served me well and made me realize I wanted an Android phone instead of an iPhone lol

This list feels biased like it isn’t based on specs, longevity and such, just based on personal preference Just because you hate U2 doesn’t mean those iPods sucked You gotta judge them on how they performed and what they brought to the table I’m sure the U2 iPod didn’t start breaking the screen when the battery started puffing up, but the iPod nano did That is how things should be rated now whether you like a band or not

I have a specially modded iPod It's a 5th Gen with a 256GB flash mod and a 3,000mAh battery It runs forever and with the Wolfson DAC, sounds pretty good It also won't skip, because it's entirely solid state I could have just gotten one of the last gen iPod Touch models, but what's the fun in that?

I got the 256mb 1gen shuffle for my 7th birthday Probably one of my best gifts Later I got a battery pack with two AAA Batteries inside which made it nearly impossible to not have enough power Later I got the 3rd gen Nano, which I used to watch tons of video podcasts and play games
