Seeing my fav pod at a D stings a little but fair enough as it was the first "cheap" full sized iPod, worse screen than the 3G with less stuff included At least it charged over USB!brI still love you Mono4G 💋 Comment from : DankPods |
ipod nano 5g are the worst ipod for repair Comment from : RetroRolf |
I like the nano 3g and nano 1g, havent even got a 3g but i like it because its like the 7g classic's little brother Comment from : æä |
Apple needs to bring back an iPod cheaper than $100 That would make it so much better to exercise than carrying around your expensive as hell phone I would buy one immediately! Comment from : Redline |
I can't believe I watched a 30 minute video ranking every ipod ever Comment from : Evin Drews |
I’ve only ever had two iPods, an iPod 4th gen with a black and white screen, and an iPod touch 4th gen The first one made school bus trips more bearable as I didn’t have to listen to the bus driver’s radio station choice The second one lasted well after my time in college as my computer at the time couldn’t connect to the iPhone I had, so I was briefly rocking an iPod touch and an iPhone simultaneously Once I upgraded to a new Mac, the iPod touch joined my retired tech Comment from : Vidgmchtr |
😂 The Steve Jobs book said that he regretted the U2 and HP iPod right away Comment from : Slob |
Did you put 5th gen U2 iPod at the bottom? 😮😮😮 Seriously? I have 7 of those, two of which I flash modded, they have Wolfson Dac chip in them and sound incredible My absolute favourite iPod together with 5th gen 80gb model Comment from : diana |
The 4th gen iPod touch had less RAM than the iPhone 4, so it makes sense that it didn’t get iOS 7 Remember iOS 7 was not good on iPhone 4 at all Comment from : Charles Sparks |
iPod nano 5G is S tier😡 Comment from : Ekszotikus vitamin kuckó de rövidebben |
i'm surprised they did not launch a new high end iPod with a beast DAC to rival Fiio and sony on the lossless portable market Comment from : Souls4Roca⚡ |
The iPod touch 2g is my favorite definition of "not good" Comment from : qwerty keyboard |
My first iPod was the iPod Nano 6th Gen Used it as both a watch and a music player However, I fell out of love with it as I come out of my teens But after seeing the iPod Touch being discontinued, I had decided to buy a second-hand iPod Touch to enjoy music again Comment from : Owen The Commuter |
I had the Nano 4 Technically and designwise a very nice product but I hated it for not letting me drag and drop music onto it without iTunes After using it for a few weeks I gave it to my girlfriend and said goodbye to Apple for good Comment from : Martin Kuhlen |
my top tiers are: nano 5, classic 55, and touch 6 that nano really is the end evolution of the shuffle design Comment from : Bobby Z |
After the classic change from 80/160GB to 120GB, does have one last edition bringing back 160GB if I remember correctly Mine is still rocking after all those years Comment from : Marcelo Neubert Germann |
I had the last shuffle and 4th Gen Ipod touch Loved them both Recently bought a used Nano 3rd and 5th gen, as memorabilia Comment from : Travel_and_Pixel |
You missed the Gen 7 That was 160gb The 120gb was a 65 model Comment from : Toasty Hoodie |
For terms of listening to while studying and portability, i would say, the nano 7th genbrbrI like it because of how thin it is and the limited space for media, there's a paradox of choice when you can cram your whole library into an ipod The nano makes you choose your favorites brbrbrBut i love my modded classic, i haven't really had to charge it for like a 3rd of a year Comment from : Miles O |
I really don't remember paying for the update to my 1st Gen iPod Touch And after I purchased it, they released the 32GB model So, I returned my 16GB The processor was bad though So, I agree there Just outside of a year, I had to visit apple due to it excessive lag, and they just said "you know how older products are", "Huh!?" 😂 Comment from : Montego Berk |
You should do one of this videos for Apple Watch Comment from : Kpop Chingo |
My dac sucks and it caches in silence spots Comment from : Bryan Ladd |
The OG iPod def has to be S tier just because it’s the OG Comment from : B1G2 |
55 gen iPod was the last iPod I think to feature a Wolfson DAC which is important if you miss the warm sound of the earlier models, and the 5 upgrade gave it a search function and I think more RAM It's what I use regularly now with 512GB solid state storage installed, and like you I had a 3G iPod that I used from 2003 to at least 2015, with an upgraded 80GB drive installed It couldn't sync over FW400 anymore after the upgrade and I tried to find some firmware fix but never could The HDD broke sometime in 2016 or so but I still have it Comment from : Conchobhar |
The ipod touch 4 had 256megs og RAM while the iphone 4 had 512megs of ram the ipod did not have enough ram to run ios 7 Comment from : Jack |
I got my 7th gen iPod touch just before they discontinue the line love it for what it is even thouigh I have others iPods that are consider way better Comment from : Eza Ike |
iPod shuffle 1st gen s tier just baffles me… just no Comment from : Anonymous Idea |
I posted a short about my iPod recently and now I am binging content! this video is great! I loved my iPod but I didn't get one until the 5th generation I'm going to bring mine back to life Comment from : Tech Most |
The Nano 7 is my favorite iPod 😢 Comment from : William Key |
“dafuq 3” 💀 Comment from : SAM4 |
Afraid you couldn't be any more wrong on the 7th Gen Nano It's the best Nano made by Apple Its Bluetooth capabilities still make it relevant with Apple products, such as their entire AirPod line, and the Lightning port kept it relevant with speaker docks (at least 3rd party ones) for many years to come Hell, you can even charge an Apple Pencil with it! Did I mention 4 different kinds of remote controls (not counting the screen and side controls) can be used with it simultaneously? That's 6 options! Even the iPhone doesn't do that! And let's not forget, Apple sold this Nano for 5 years If it's such a terrible product like you suggest, it would have been shit canned quickly You did not properly or remotely extoll the 7th Gen's features I rank your review of the 7th Gen Nano as an "F" Comment from : Will It Work? |
iPod nano 7 is A tier Comment from : XOTWOD |
The radio receivers on the ipods were amazing in quality it became my primary use case for my ipods, and I love the pause feature Comment from : Maui |
How is the nano 7 F!? Comment from : John Milner |
You bozo That U2 iPod is the 55, the best iPod and you put in the worst tier That goes to show that you having 1 million subs means nothing Lame content Comment from : Ceceli |
my first and maybe only apple product is the ipod nano 7, i really like itbri have dropped and lost it several times, just recharge and it will work againbrsuch reliability deserve better ranks Comment from : Nguyễn Trần Anh Nguyên |
Well my fav iPod is nano 7 bc people hated me and was mean and I had a pink nano 4 so I got a silver nano 7 and loved it and everyone was nice lol I had fake friends Comment from : MR_nobody |
The 120GB model you list as classic 7th Gen is actually the Gen 6 rev1 aka"65 Gen" Apple released the 160GB classic 6 Gen rev2 aka "7th gen" in Sept 2009 Comment from : Tony Ahn, Jr |
I have a Classic 55, A Nano 5, Nano 6, Touch 6, and a Touch 7 The Classic is the best, the Nano 5 is my favorite, the Nano 6 is the coolest, the Touch 4 is the "coolest back in the day", and the Touch 6 and 7s were " just because" sentimental 2nd hand purchases I need to get A shuffle just to complete my collection! I use my iPods on a daily basis because they give me more control over what I listen to And because a lot of places still have mousey cell coverage Comment from : Clyde Osterhout |
Well in terms of iOS 7 on the iPod touch 4g it had only 256MB of Ram instead of the 512 on the iPhone 4, so I kind of assume iOS 7 wouldn’t run that well on the iPod even on the iPhone 4 it wasn’t great Comment from : DaikiTV |
honestly think id swap 1st and 2nd gen ipods, the 2nd gen didnt improve bthat/b much on the 1st gen but i kinda see it less as a successor and more as the "final" version of the original gen, like an ipod 1s almost, like the 1st gen was the initial buggy product and the 2nd gen was the final, perfected version Comment from : Lauren Straily |
my fat nano survived the wachine machine not once, but TWICEbrand it still works until today 🙏 Comment from : Jakub Mbiakob |
bLooks at my beloved 160GB classic in shame/b Comment from : Smashton |
I still have my iPod Nano Watch If it had video playback it would’ve been perfect Comment from : Henry Wallace |
I think giving the iPod nano seventh after is the worst thing you could do I am so mad at you Please change it man 29:27 Comment from : Chill Pill |
I had the first of the first in the UK, due to its release at Mac Show that I was exhibiting in along with a buddy who owned a mac retailer Any how; the thing I loved was the design nod to the original mac classic The font! The proportions! Loved it Still do It’s S tier Sorry It is Comment from : Ed Silvester |
the thinnest ipod is 69mm (iphone 6) but great video, loved visiting back I'm happy with my 7th gen classic which Ibought just before they became collectible Comment from : Atacan |
I also had the iPod 3rd gen Loved it, my first apple experience Still have it but broken parts, just bought a “new” one so I can get it up and running:)brGreat video Comment from : Frame By Frame guides |
dafuq 3 had me cracking up 🤣 Comment from : Gabi Benitez |
The subtitling on this was /really/ bad Comment from : Kyle McCall |
Snazzy does that pencil you got charge properly? I had to return an extremely similar one from Amazon because it would only charge for a few seconds after attaching to the side of the iPad Comment from : Amith Koneru |
Cool to see such a condensed run through of all the releases The iPod touch holds a special place for me, as it got me into jailbreaking Ended up jailbreaking idk how many devices for friends The funny part was when they would ask if I needed their pin, and I'd be like nope, can get right past it Little unsettling in hindsight Comment from : DeadRyGuy |
Fun fact: there was a version of the iPod touch 5th gen without a rear camera, but still a front camera Comment from : Capital Pi |
The 3rd Gen iPod Touch did come in 64 Gigs, and I think you kind of glossed over that because you gave the 4th Gen iPod Touch a nod for it's "increased storage" that topped out at 64 Gigs For me, this is the best iPod ever made My reasoning for that isn't because of software this, or DAC that It's by far the most reliable Apple product I've ever owned, and probably the best Apple product I'll ever own because I can still use it today, easily I bought mine around December of 2009, and I used it daily until about two years ago It's never had a battery replacement either Heck, at one point in time I used the browser function to order a new power supply for my PC that died and could not be used This 3rd Gen iPod Touch carried me through so many road trips, career improvements, my first home, new cars The DAC was better at paying Podcasts, and while musically it wasn't quite up to the 5th Gen, it was still really goodbrbrI did buy a 7th Gen, and I'm glad to own it I needed the extra storage, because the 64 Gigs meant that I had to make cuts to my musical playlist However, mine has not been as reliable as the 3rd Gen was and still continues to be, but it does it's job well enough Comment from : Beitie Beitie |
Overall pretty good rankings, Quinn, but you judge the 4th gen iPod and iPod Photo unfairly harshly They were high quality devices that perfected many features that evolved in the iPods before Easily two grades higher for each ie a B for the 4th gen iPod and a C for the iPod Photo Comment from : darijoe |
The absolute disrespect to the 4th gen mono :( Comment from : Omegapork |
I loved my 7th gen classic iPod I still have the device today Comment from : Guy Garcia |
I have the iPod touch 7th gen, going on four years in November since I bought it, got the biggest possible storage option and have so far filled over half of it, can see myself using it another 3 years! Don’t regret buying it at all! Comment from : 05101990toots |
the bono player was definitely biased Comment from : jarkee |
iOS 7 was junk on the iPhone 4 man A bigger injustice was not giving iOS 6 to the iPad 1 when the iPad 2 got like 5 years of updates ranging from iOS 4 to 9 Comment from : wendysremix |
26:38 iPod touch 4 had half the amount of ram as the iPhone 4 that was probably the problem Comment from : awardednerd |
I wish they'd bring back the form factor of the Nano and its OS with the storage capacity (in SSD) of the Classic I want a simple MP3 player back so I don't have to always use my iPhone 14 Pro Max as my music player because it's so chunky as a music player Comment from : iKazed |
iPod video is by far the best iPod Properly placed in S tier! Probably needs it's own tier above S If you know you know Comment from : AJ |
512 gigs of flash storage for 99 bucks in '05? That's wild considering it also played music Comment from : OtherMomo |
I still use the iPod nano 3rd gen, mainly for playing klondike on the bus tho Comment from : Tecoz |
ok well im still using the nano 6 as a watch i made a video on my crappy channel about the perfect bluetooth adaptor i found for it also found a really cheap 2nd hand strap that looks and feels really good as well as a bezel thing that doesnt make it clunky idk for being an OG apple watch that doesnt spy on me, has a headphone jack, and also the battery lasts 4 weeks at a time that is to say i only charge it once a month lol its pretty legit too bad no one ever put out a jailbreak, coz it has internal gyros that could theoretically enable gesture screen on controls owell, its battery is the size of a chicklet and with daily use it lasts for over a month rofl this is what we gave up when we let our devices spy on us Comment from : G Money |
21:59 Auto S-Tier for that MGS4 mobile game we were all playing Comment from : Shooter Q |
Always thought it was weird that Apple killed off the iPod touch Schools used them a lot I also used to work Point of Sale and we had a lot of businesses that used them hooked up to scanners and different things and used them with different Point of Sale Software, Security monitoring on the go, even stores using them to do their inventory among many other things It seemed like there was still a market for them Comment from : Jonny |
Respect for the U2 hate love it thumbs up for me! Comment from : SameOldSomething |
7th gen nano is an easy S tier I mean come on it's a nano with bluetooth! Also the 1st gen is S tier but your placement is close enough so I'll give it a pass Comment from : _iine |
The only two iPods I ever owned made S tier sooo I'll pat myself on the shoulder Comment from : Jersh |
iPod shuffle S tier no way, those things never worked my parents had multiple because they so frequently broke cheap products Comment from : ykk5644 |
Very imformative! Comment from : The Wills Family Account |
Black and red isn't a cool combo? That brings everything you've ever said into question Comment from : XanthosAcanthus |
Kinda weird to think my only experience with an iPod is near the end of it's product category, the Touch 5 It was nice while I used it regularly, I liked how small and light it was and it lasted me through high school and college But it also made me realize I didn't much care for iOS and the small screen size eventually got to me that in the last years before buying my phone, I barely used the thing So thank you iPod, you served me well and made me realize I wanted an Android phone instead of an iPhone lol Comment from : Freak80MC |
nah the ipod touch gen 4 not getting ios 7 for performance issues seems legit I had mine from 2011-2014 and it ran like shit after around two years Comment from : percyvael |
i still wish the combined volume & play/pause buttons from the nano 7 made its way to the iphone 😭 Comment from : Guy Sexton |
This list feels biased like it isn’t based on specs, longevity and such, just based on personal preference Just because you hate U2 doesn’t mean those iPods sucked You gotta judge them on how they performed and what they brought to the table I’m sure the U2 iPod didn’t start breaking the screen when the battery started puffing up, but the iPod nano did That is how things should be rated now whether you like a band or not Comment from : Rudy De Leon |
It’s apples fault the HP iPod got an F, because they wouldn’t service them It has nothing to do with the iPod itself, just apple being apple Comment from : Rudy De Leon |
My theory of why the iPod Touch 4 never got iOS 7 was because it had 256mb of RAM instead of the 512mb on the iPhone 4 Comment from : Elijah Blue |
I have a specially modded iPod It's a 5th Gen with a 256GB flash mod and a 3,000mAh battery It runs forever and with the Wolfson DAC, sounds pretty good It also won't skip, because it's entirely solid state I could have just gotten one of the last gen iPod Touch models, but what's the fun in that? Comment from : SeanFromPVD |
The ipod mini was like buying bubblegum It's sad apple doesnt have fun products anymore Comment from : CC |
You could say that the Bono iPod is the world's crappiest iPod Comment from : PlasmaPower |
I got the 256mb 1gen shuffle for my 7th birthday Probably one of my best gifts Later I got a battery pack with two AAA Batteries inside which made it nearly impossible to not have enough power Later I got the 3rd gen Nano, which I used to watch tons of video podcasts and play games Comment from : RC2225 |
Eu version of classic 7th gen has F tier volume restriction for sure Comment from : martalizer |
Why do you hate U2 so much?? Your dislike doesn’t seem to stem just from their music… Comment from : Kapil Balagopal |
iPod nano first gen, still cool if you pull one out from your pocket in 2023 Comment from : SC Lee |
The Shuffles all sucked Comment from : Rick Karrer |
having color on the iPod photo, and the ability to take your phones with you was a big deal, even if it was replaced with video not long after Comment from : Rick Karrer |
I love the 3rd gen too, even though I admit that the button built into the wheel later on was faster to use I wish they would have kept the lit up buttons, so much better to use in the dark Comment from : Rick Karrer |
The 2nd gen was better to use overall than the 1st gen The touch wheel, and additional capacity made the 1st gen feel more like a prototype Comment from : Rick Karrer |
