I don't even graduate high school until 2027 But my dream job is to be an engineer in Germany I want to step into my fathers footsteps and I know he wanted one of his 4 kids (of 3 wives) to be an engineer My two brothers didn't show interest and my sister wasn't commited enough But I want to do itbrbrI have also picked out what field I (currently) would want to work in That would be "Bauingenieur im Schienenverkehrswege- und Tiefbau" basically a civil engineer specialized on rail and bridge building My state is actually one of the higher paying states for civil engineers and they are well in demandbrbrI will be going to grade 9 in the new school year and have signed up for a program to skip year 11 and jump straight into year 12 and do my Abitur in grade 13 I am currently the best in my class in physics and also not bad in the other subjects I have a "nerd" friend group in my class With one other guy I always battle who will get the higher grade/more pointsbrWe once had the situation in chemistrybrHe had a 1 (best grade) and 37/38 pointsbrI had a 1 and 375/38brAnd guess who celebrated the whole day Comment from : NoZo |

Mechanical Engineering Technology degree here, while it’s under the college of technology it’s still a great degree I’ve been hired as a mechanical engineer for an aerospace company, we are still considered engineers according to not only the university but the companies that are hiring engineers Comment from : Eric Ziants |

Probably the hardest of all engineering careers is Electronics Engineering After graduation, while at work, they bring you heavy books of new chips brBelieve me Nobody in the world will be able to absorb so much information while workingbrTo graduate you go with all physics, mathematics and for what Lousy pay and if only you can find a jobbrElectronics moved mainly to Japan, South Korea, Taiwanbr Working on Mechanical and Electrical engineering is simple because you can see what components are working In Electronics this is not possible If you see an integrated circuit and need repair, what are you going to do What is in there? Comment from : Cesar Salazar |
|

I like the list but your ranking and description of environmental engineering does not fit perfectly Environmental engineers focus on hydrologic systems, wastewater treatment or air pollution While it deals with enhancing the environment, that is not the main focus We know the chemistry of a chemical engineer and the structure knowledge of a civil engineer From mine and my colleagues experience the pay is a lot better than that you find on internet Google says median pay range is 55-65k but every environmental I know is making atleast 70-80k Don’t think you did a bad job as describing it but wanted to add some more detail related to the major Comment from : Mark Reich |
|
very 'engineer' thing of you to break up a 20 minute video into two dozen segments that dont actually tell you anything about the content of the segment lmao Comment from : secondreality1 |

Materials science and engineering is a really cool major I started out as that There are a lot of cool materials breakthroughs in nanotechnology and nano materials It's not as competitive as the larger majors but it is smaller so it is a niche field So if you like the industry you can go in it's a great and rewarding major But it's not as flexible as the other majors I'm an industrial engineering major now and I enjoy it Comment from : James Quaranto |
