Comment from : Shams Bin Zaman

In my country even thought oil and natural gas are still one of tue biggest contributor to our GDP but I honestly not satisfied with the job market Mech and elec engineering graduates are more easy to get a job in this industry Many of my classmates 2015 graduated didnt managed to secure a job on this industry Im now working with LPG supplier company with underpaid salary If you want to work in this industry just get a degree in mech or elec is better than petroleum Petroleum eng student dont have much skills in machinery stuff in detail You have to enrol into other courses after graduate which more money is needed

I’m a petroleum engineer with a BSC and MSC degrees in petroleum engineering I started with 92k 11 years ago right after the crisis in 2008 and currently making close to 200k per year Keep in mind that many chemical engineers are working as petroleum engineers but many companies will pay more for the petroleum engineering background (degree) In my case I make 20 from what my colleagues with chemical engineering degrees do

Jean Aramide Richson-Eniwaiye
Great video! Accurate information I'm a petroleum engineer by practice and degree and what he said about getting a degree in either chemical or mechanical engineering to work in the oil and gas industry is apt That will give you so much more flexibility career wise Petroleum engineering is a very streamlined programme hence the core skill set is quite limiting if your aren't working in the industry I wish I had someone to advice me in that regard before embarking on this journey, although I don't regret it too much cause I got lucky Cheers
