On the repeating block pattern one thing they did appear to do was make theirs out of entirely walnut scraps? If so that might explain some of the insane price?

Pikachu THE GAY ATHEIST
The only problem that I have with fence pickets is that it's wet wood, making very difficult to cut on a table saw without binding a kick back Also you have to be very very careful with how you inspect the inspection the fence picket to make sure it's not warped before you get it because it's wet wood, and you have to expect that it's going to warp And also it may say that it is 5/8 in x 5-1/2 in does not mean that evenly cut that way across the hole board I tried to using your Pierced Wood Star plans to make an Easter egg cheese board and plaque that's one of my first starter projects I screwed up on using the jigsaw though, and I also found out that the lumber yard that provided the fence pickets at Home Depot "even though they were supposed to cut it 5/8 in x 5-1/2" cut the board in such a way that it was a hair off on one side It doesn't mean that the board was warped, it just means that the yard did not evenly cut board Also you have to factor in that fence pickets are wet wood if they are treated, so the board is going to warp some I don't recall it being a factor aboard warpage, being a reason to why one side of the board was thicker than the other as far as cut is concerned
Comment from : Pikachu THE GAY ATHEIST

Thomas Bridges

I love all of your stuff Although when I watched the video of the " CHICKNIC" table I saw what I will assume was your son working on it The one thing that disturbed me was he was wearing something with long sleeves I have always heard from many people to never wear any type of top with long sleeves while working with power tools It's very dangerous if any part of a sleeve gets caught with the machine Otherwise keep up the great work

Speaking from experience hereI spent £2,000 (approx $2440) on a couple machines and a load of tools, thinking "yeah, I need this and I need that" And a lot of the stuff I was right to do so with Table saw, mitre saw, chisels, saws etc But you are right! Buy as you go Learn with what you have and gradually move up Don't bite off more than you can chew!
