I still can’t find an OLED with as simple of an interface as my plasma All I ever need out of a TV is to switch the inputs over to whatever I need it onto Comment from : Damian9303 |
Damn, the TV from ages ago gives near tough competition to latest one of the most expensive TVs today🔥 Comment from : Dhanraj Shetty |
This is very technical and objective I like the difference on a meta level The plasma was a family thing that brought one together for that special movie or sports match you watched together You had to set things up and gather OLED stands for individuality and being on the cocaine rush from big tech every minute of your day You passive filter bubble overdose of crap information claiming your total retina and messing up your brain Comment from : 2kB of Fun |
oof you will still find plasma fans in these days Comment from : colclumper |
I keep my Samsung 450series 50inch plasma for one reason Retro Consoles It just works with all resolutions ,plus fact its 1024x768 makes it scaling old low resolutions much better than 4k lcd/oled tv Comment from : MyStuff_Irl |
Well, I moved across country and wanted to get a new TV at least 60" and I've never seen an LCD screen that looks very good to me I wasn't ready to spend $1500 or more on a TV at the moment So I feel lucky that I found a ZT60 locally with only a few thousand hours on it For the $200, I think it's the best TV I could get today Comment from : Dave |

Movies these days are darkened on purpose Everything to sell the HDR this is ridiculous Even netflix series are darkened on purpose This is done on purpose with the intention that we think we need televisions with HDR technology But we don't need it, just render the video more colorful and clear, a good computer player corrects all this darkness and lack of colors, we don't need HDR Comment from : Rodrigo Correa |
Plasma is alien tech Comment from : 🐼Free Hugs🐼 |

Just got an LG CS 65" to replace my 65" VT30A The Panasonic still looms incredible even though we bought it in 2011! It definitely DOESN'T need to be replaced but it's getting to that point where I feel like I'm missing out with 4k120hz OLED Still deciding what to do with the Plasma Don't wanna get rid of it 😭 Comment from : SatanPotato |

In really bright scenes, the OLED clips and you can see the lost in detail Also, the Plasma looks more natural and pleasing to the eyes That Netflix scene at 21:01 looks amazing on the plasma It smokes the OLED Comment from : Matthew Walker |

Seems I see a maroon/red hue around the OLED version of the white signs (in the background) in this video but I do not see that in the left Plasma version I do have both plasma and oled tv's but that was really interesting in my observation of this video It really seems like there are color fringes on the oled and not on the plasma Comment from : John Barthol |

I own a Panasonic TX P 50 GT30 which now ist more than 12 years old To me colors and motion resolution are much better than most of newer TVs, especially in mid-price rangebrThe only things are the size as I wish I had a bigger screen and burnt in HUDs from play with my PS4, that maybe I could remove but didn't take the time to do it ;) Comment from : canehoyer |

if you paused the video at the part of the woman in the hammock, you can really see the clarity of the plasma TV it's like it took a photo of a still object the OLED on the other hand, obviously looks like a photo of moving object plasma tv wins in this one Comment from : Joseph Melvin Jr M Belano |

I miss my Panasonic 768p Plasma Switching to a Vizio LCD when I upgraded to 1080p was a bad choice worse image quality and more input lag Comment from : burrito kingdom |
on my 42GT30 plasma I've used the S-curve gamma option on the TV and a calibrated ICC profile to correct resulting gamma But now my plasma goes true full field black!!!brbrOf course moving the mouse cursor back show the full field pre-charge glow (0015 nit)brPeak scrolling white bar gives 240nit, and 10 field gives at most 187nits (powersave off on both System and Picture menus ) brbrEDIT +36000 hours of use, but the nits above were recently measured with gamut Volume of +96 DCI-P3 both VividColour Color Remaster enabled + colour at max brIts is wrong without a calibrated ICC profile to "clamps it" to superb IQ; Comment from : Bruno George Moraes |
It’s amazing how much more crisp the text on the plasma screen is when you pause the video Comment from : Jamie Pogue |

Turning on the subtitles is goofy af 😂 Great quality content nonetheless! Comment from : rapisor |
I still have my 08 Panasonic 65 inch plasma it's a heavy beast but the plasma hasn't started decaying yet I used to have 2 one was bigger but the speakers went bad and the HDMI ports went bad and local places wouldn't fix it and it's hard to convince my friends to help me carry the beast Comment from : jasper engel |
Awesome comparison My 12yr old Panasonic plasma tv seems to be dead finally Its just this clicking sound without any display But for me the picture quality of this beast is unmatchable compared to modern TV out there Never tried an OLED so not sure how that feels The saddest thing about Plasma is its repair as every technician I contacted was least interested due to the non availability of its components Still can't make up my mind of trashing this gold Comment from : MindCapturer007 |
I'm beginning to appreciate my Panasonic GT30 55 inch more and more when I tune into these types of videos My only problem is the picture goes from dark to light and back again The picture is still crisp but it's very annoying when it happens I recently ordered the Sony OLED A80J, but I think I'll keep the Panasonic instead of giving away after the new TV arrives Thanks for the comparison Comment from : peace2014 |
Great video and I'm a previous plasma owner who just went with the lg c1 Any previous plasma owners that have to make the switch? You will have to get a oled I had to return 2 led tvs because I was disgusted coming from a plasma to that bright white mess How leds ever overtook plasmas is mind boggling This guy in the video basically says that even a out dated plasma contends with today's technology 🤣imagine plasmas with today's technology and overtaking leds in the past? Imagine how great they would be? Nope instead idiots who apparently like to burn their retinas with overly bright tvs in direct sunlight the led tv over took the plasma and it's taken almost 20 years to come close to plasmas That's what blows me away for anyone like me who has to part with their old plasma the oled tvs are damn close and like this video says it's pluses and minuses Comment from : John |
For one with extremely sharp pair of eyes and know where to look, the comparison does make sense But for me, both are almost identical in screen image reproduction, either one is just fine for my couple of hours movie watching and news, weather broadcasts program's 😂😁 Comment from : Lam Par |
