When I was at Discount Tire, I overheard a mechanic telling the salesman not to bother trying to sell the owner of a fairly new Ford SUV any new tires The Ford owner was getting a flat fixed, but all four tires were almost bald! The mechanic said most Ford drivers hardly ever spend money on upkeep or maintenance They'll only spend money AFTER the car is dead on the side of the road! And the lady driving the expensive SUV had two kids in the car! You'd think she would at least think of the kid's safety! You can drive a less expensive car if you literally can't afford to buy tires because of the SUV's huge monthly payments! Don't put "looking good to your neighbors" ahead of your own children's safety!

I have 2005 Double cab Tundra 2wd I bought it in 2008 for 17,000k It only had 46k miles I have driven it everyday for 15 years I've only had to do regular maintenance mostly, I had the timing belt and water pump changed, the old steering rack had a leak, so I bought a rebuilt one for 250 dollars and a friend and I put it in U-joints went bad so I had a shaft rebuild All this about 5 yrs ago In 15 years this is all I've had to do, don't feel that's bad deal I had Rams, and GMCs before this truck They sucked compared to this toyotay Ram had 45k miles and was in the shop more than I got to drive it Don't get me started on GMC Acadia, total 🗑️

1994 Ranger second owner, 130 k miles nothing needed to be replaced except wiper blades, shocks, brakes, filters and tires 4 cyl auto pretty slow acceleration paint however is now gone

Yeah again if you get the Ranger don’t get the 3 L V6 get the police are the 3 L a pile of crap they are known for throwing time in chains because of the followers the guides and all of that crap get the 4 L to 3 L a piece of crap or 23 L four-cylinder bulletproof non-interference valves Timing belt cost about 40 bucks

I had a 98 ranger and put tons of miles on it over 10 years The only thing on the truck I needed replaced was the timing belt well beyond its recommended replacment interval (timing belt cant ruin the engine in this 4cyl 25 model) The repair was easy and cheap Sold it with a slightly worn clutch Everything is easy to repair on that reliable pickup
