I'm not saying the lifter issue does not happen with the Hemis, but in my experience of having 10 hemi powered cars and trucks, and being around double that because my family only drives Dodge, I have not (knock on wood) had a single problem with the lifters I always keep up with my oil changes and take care of my rigs Comment from : Michael 426 |

In Defense of the 54 3v br So I am on the other end of the spectrum being the original owner of a now 14 year old and properly maintained 2009 54 3v that’s been next to trouble free Since ‘09 it’s needed a a/c pump clutch (2014) passenger exhaust manifold (2018) and 2 solenoids (2022) The engine still purrs as quietly as the day I drove it home from the dealer and I’ll take those repairs spread over 14 years any day of the week The truck has been paid off since 2014 and for 9 years it’s been nothing but money in the bank to me If I had a nickel for every time someone has told me ‘you’re going to regret that 3V’ I’d be a rich man, now I simply ask them when am I going to regret it? After 20 years? 25? 30? Because I’m basically 15 years in now and it’s been the best truck I’ve ever owned With that said would I ever buy a used one when I didn’t know the maintenance history? Not on your life Peace🙂 Comment from : Squangan |
Greedy upper management and big time wallstreet stockholders are slowly ruining American automakers Forcing them to move factories to foreign countries Not workers Workers wages were slashed years ago Pensions abolished Measly 401K's today Gone are the days of workers making $44 a hour Factory Workers make $17 to $26 HR They earn every penny Comment from : Rondell Schuyler |

I had a 1999 Chevy Z71 4x4 w/short bed and regular cab, it had the 48 liter engine It was nothing but trouble (transmission failure, several fuel pumps, cab leak due to a faulty gasket on the cab pressure relief vents located behind the seat and finally a shock absorber mount failure in the rear) I now have a 2013 Chevy 4x4 with the 53L engine since 2013 that has been excellent I swear the 1999 was cursed, it was on a roll back more than it was on the road (I take good care of my vehicles) brI love your channelbrThanks Comment from : Dave H |

Here in Brazil we mostly have small trucks, like Frontier, rangers, toyota hilux etc The best (for those who really use the sh!t out of the truck) is definitely the Toyota If you go to the countryside you will only see them, being really used and poorly maintained Even like that, they last forever Comment from : Felipe Louza |
The root cause of the 54 timing issues is the oil pump While you’re in there, replace it with a high volume oil pump along with the full timing set Comment from : David Robitaille |
The dodge trucks the years seemed off U r saying 2nd and 3rd guns r good? Or 1st and 2nd? Thanks Comment from : DasShape |
I love how once this mid 2000's hit every truck manufacturer went to crap I really wonder if it was something to do with the recession in 07 when they all took massive bailout money They realized the old truck were too reliable and had to cut quality a bit to make more money on parts / service or selling you a new truck every 5-10 years instead of 10-20 years Comment from : Cole Bevans |
What mileage would you steer clear of on these trucks? Thank you Comment from : Donnie Hopkins |
In other words those titans with the cat problems are fine if you don’t need it to pass emissions Comment from : Bradley Homer |
