Am saving up for a full oz of gold can't decide if I should keep saving more just need $900 for a 1oz gold coin or just get a 1/2oz ? Just don't want nothing small alot of disaplean for a full oz but eventually al get my 1st full oz of gold even if it takes me a while to save al get one

I prefer 1/4 ounce Britannias Much lower premium plus easier to sell fractional as opposed to a full one ounce coin If I buy a full one ounce I'll go with RCM bars Great video as always Appreciate the time and effort you put into making them Thanks,

Great video! 1/10 oz gold is a good choice for many Easy to save up for for the average Issue is the HIGH premiums After getting the 1st oz in 1/10 oz gold I get 1/4 oz or 1/2 oz The 1/10 is easy to unload yet them premiums are to high on the 1/10 oz in my opinion

I have several tubes of 1oz AGES I also have a lot of fractional AGES Mostly 1/4oz and 1/2oz But I do have several 1/10oz AGEs I also have a few Buffalos and several Krugerrands If I had my preference, I would choose the 1/4oz followed by 1/2oz But since the premiums are higher for them, I just buy mostly 1oz

Thanks for the video I am early in my journey, so trying to learn as much as possible I see you focused on avoiding high premiums, but I was wondering if you also consider the spreads in price between buying and selling? Do some of the fractional gold coins with higher premiums have smaller buy-sell spreads than the coins with lower initial premiums? When asking at my LCS, it seemed some low premium options end up having larger spreads which would be important to consider as well…

I've only purchased two fractional US gold coins in my life and both were 2021 half-ounce Proof American Gold Eagles The US Mint released two sets of Proof AGEs in 2021 The first was the Type 1 design Later in the year came the very first Type 2 design The product limit for Type 1 half-ounce Proof AGEs was only 1,600 coins (The product limit excludes coins contained in the 4-coin set) Overall there were only 9,741 Type 1 half-ounce Proof AGEs minted in 2021, which is the 3rd lowest in history for the Type 1 design The only years in which fewer were minted are 2018 (9,204 minted) and 2019 (9,454 minted) I submitted both of my 2021 Type 1 half-ounce Proof AGEs to PCGS and luckily both came back with a grade of PR70DCAM First Strike

I am not buying much at this time, but I usually go with the gold that has the lowest percent of premium I recently found a dealer selling 20 gold Mexican Pesos (482 oz) for 3 over spot A br1 oz coin is usually the best bet when searching for the lowest premium These days premiums are crazy on everything Great video! 💥🔥💥👍

I started with 1g maple leaf as well And other 1g gold and when gold when up quite a bit I sold all my 1g and purchased 1/10th gold eagles eagles when gold took a big dip My favorite is the American gold eagle I prefer that Doesn’t make sense for me to buy them right now because of the premium My second choice is the gold Britannia For the 1/10th I like to keep the premiums 17 percent and below If I’m not able to get it 17 below I don’t buy I save the money and wait For me fractional just makes more sense and I do believe I will be able to make the premiums back And on some I have plus more

In February I acquired a 1/10th ounce for the lowest premium ever before the SVB fiasco But even after that premium spike, there was a short window of opportunity to purchase early date certified AGEs and 2016 Mercury Dimes for the same price or lower than a plain 2023 1/10th ounce It seems that this opportunity has passed, but it's something to keep an eye out for
