If gold gets revalued to 20k, or some ridiculous number, with no notice, you’ll wish it was all fractional Haha just my opinion Comment from : Dark Knight Cowboy |

When poo 💩 poo 💩 hits the fan there are no cons when you own physical gold Comment from : Chatsworth Osborne, Jr |

I prefer 1/4 ounce Britannias Much lower premium plus easier to sell fractional as opposed to a full one ounce coin If I buy a full one ounce I'll go with RCM bars Great video as always Appreciate the time and effort you put into making them Thanks, Comment from : Scott Hill |
Do you ever buy gold bars? Is it better to buy gold and silver in coins? Comment from : Kim Prestholt |
I like the fact that fractional has more utility Comment from : Edward L |
Why can't the mint have different designs for fractionals? Like a different face or animal in the obverse, that way you know right away if it's a quarter oz or half oz size Comment from : Lamarr Avery |

Thank you 😊 Comment from : Romulo Serrano |

I would love to buy fractional gold but can’t vet over the premiums Sooo, I only buy full ounce Will deal with fractions if We do indeed go to hell in a handbasket at that time Comment from : Michael R |

Great video! 1/10 oz gold is a good choice for many Easy to save up for for the average Issue is the HIGH premiums After getting the 1st oz in 1/10 oz gold I get 1/4 oz or 1/2 oz The 1/10 is easy to unload yet them premiums are to high on the 1/10 oz in my opinion Comment from : עמנואל ישר אל |
I have several tubes of 1oz AGES I also have a lot of fractional AGES Mostly 1/4oz and 1/2oz But I do have several 1/10oz AGEs I also have a few Buffalos and several Krugerrands If I had my preference, I would choose the 1/4oz followed by 1/2oz But since the premiums are higher for them, I just buy mostly 1oz Comment from : Think For Yourself |

Although I've been stacking for just over a year, I'm now looking at the 1/4oz gold as the new 1oz; that is, I now see the 1/4oz gold as king This means, for me, that 1gm, 5gm, and 1/10oz gold are now on my target list rather than the 1oz coins, plus Sovereigns and half-SovereignsbrMany Youtube stacker channels point out the high premiums (you paid) that you won't be getting back if you sell to a dealer, yet little advice for optimising returns on those high-premium items Comment from : Pieces of Eight |
Thanks for the video I am early in my journey, so trying to learn as much as possible I see you focused on avoiding high premiums, but I was wondering if you also consider the spreads in price between buying and selling? Do some of the fractional gold coins with higher premiums have smaller buy-sell spreads than the coins with lower initial premiums? When asking at my LCS, it seemed some low premium options end up having larger spreads which would be important to consider as well… Comment from : OldDaddyBear |

I've only purchased two fractional US gold coins in my life and both were 2021 half-ounce Proof American Gold Eagles The US Mint released two sets of Proof AGEs in 2021 The first was the Type 1 design Later in the year came the very first Type 2 design The product limit for Type 1 half-ounce Proof AGEs was only 1,600 coins (The product limit excludes coins contained in the 4-coin set) Overall there were only 9,741 Type 1 half-ounce Proof AGEs minted in 2021, which is the 3rd lowest in history for the Type 1 design The only years in which fewer were minted are 2018 (9,204 minted) and 2019 (9,454 minted) I submitted both of my 2021 Type 1 half-ounce Proof AGEs to PCGS and luckily both came back with a grade of PR70DCAM First Strike Comment from : bad gateway |

Gold Buffalo's do infact come in fractional sizes but their premiums are absolutely insane Comment from : Jim Scherer |

I prefer a full OZ, but I'll snatch up fractional if I find it at a decent premium Comment from : Richard Metcalf |

Great knowledge! Thank you 😊 Comment from : Gina Young |
Fractional gold premium still lower than an oz Silver Buy gold never wrong especially gold had the lowest premium of all PMS to better hedge against inflation and preserve your wealth 😉😉😉 Comment from : sam lam |
Love any coins at all measurements but would buy 10th coins all day if premiums ended Comment from : Rockytop |
I am not buying much at this time, but I usually go with the gold that has the lowest percent of premium I recently found a dealer selling 20 gold Mexican Pesos (482 oz) for 3 over spot A br1 oz coin is usually the best bet when searching for the lowest premium These days premiums are crazy on everything Great video! 💥🔥💥👍 Comment from : Ontario100 |

I started with 1g maple leaf as well And other 1g gold and when gold when up quite a bit I sold all my 1g and purchased 1/10th gold eagles eagles when gold took a big dip My favorite is the American gold eagle I prefer that Doesn’t make sense for me to buy them right now because of the premium My second choice is the gold Britannia For the 1/10th I like to keep the premiums 17 percent and below If I’m not able to get it 17 below I don’t buy I save the money and wait For me fractional just makes more sense and I do believe I will be able to make the premiums back And on some I have plus more Comment from : Nics Coins |

Thank you for the video, SW Usually, online dealers pay more for the fractionals on a sale to them As of today's date, 05212023 Money Metals Exchange has a sell-to-us price of $22377 for 1/10th troy ounce random date AGE I'm not associated with MMX, not financial advice Comment from : MDH |
The lowest premium on gold I have bought is 2 for an Austrian 100 Corona Lately I've been buying US Mint commemorative $5 gold coins for 4 premium Comment from : David Knigge |
I just got into buying gold this year I've heard the 1/4 oz AGE are high, but I never hear what the average or standard premium was before the climb I've found them as low as 20 but that still seems steep Was the general percent around 10-15 before this year? Thanks in advance Comment from : Guy Incognito |
I buy all sizes of coins But i also buy different coins depending on premium Comment from : Christopher wallace |

Like any junkie, I started with full oz, but now moved to tenths, twentieths, and grams But I draw the line at half grams 🤣 Comment from : Lassie Farm |

Some good thoughts on 1 oz vs fractional I too like the feel of a full oz in the hand Comment from : SalivateMetal |
I was in Denver last month I went by the Mint The tours were full but as a consolation I bought a 2023 Proof 1/10oz AGE at the gift shop Talk about a high premium! But it was an impulse purchase and a nice souvenir Comment from : D Graddy |
I wouldn't buy less than 1/10 oz gold or 1 oz silver Comment from : Corey Smith |
Purchasing a 1 ounce AGE 22K coinbrmakes no sense when there are other sovereign 1 ounce 24k coins available for considerably less brI stay away Comment from : David Jewett |
Fractional is the only way I can buy gold, unfortunately😢 I can only buy gold if it's under $1950 hopefully it will get to that price or lower Great video!!! Comment from : Rob |
In February I acquired a 1/10th ounce for the lowest premium ever before the SVB fiasco But even after that premium spike, there was a short window of opportunity to purchase early date certified AGEs and 2016 Mercury Dimes for the same price or lower than a plain 2023 1/10th ounce It seems that this opportunity has passed, but it's something to keep an eye out for Comment from : S Williams |
I would love the US Mint to start producing fractional Gold Buffalo's as well There was talk about it a few years ago at the Mint but nothing became of it as of yet Comment from : Silver Lunatic |
I think the 1/4 oz is the sweet spot But when Perth comes out with their Lunar Year of the Dragon coin this fall/winter I want one in 1 oz gold I’m a blue collar guy so I’m already putting fiat aside for that purchase Comment from : Hagar the HODLer |
