POWER CORDS ARE JUST 5THSbrbrI played piano before learning guitar, still do play from time to time but I really wanna focus on guitars brbrPutting guitar lingo into piano lingo is the easiest way for me to learn things, so when you said “power cords are constructed of a root and a fith” it blew my mind

I was lost way back at 1:45 with the 5 chord and the fifths Never heard of either and don’t understand That jet flew right by me Completely lost on me I guess not a true beginning lesson I’m still in first grade learning to play the guitar and this must be a 2nd grade lesson as the viewer should already understand the fifths?

I wanted to learn the guitar ages ago bought a cheap acoustic guitar and tried it a little remembered some cords from school but felt unsatisfied with my progress and stopped now I want to pick it up again and tuned it yesterday but power cords seem hardbrbrHow do I strum only two strings? :D I always end up accidentally strumming one more I really need to practice this daily

I'm a complete beginner - why is it called a E5? It's on the 2nd fret, so I don't get it What does it mean to be a "5th away"? How do you figure it out from the root?

I like power chords! You can just goof around up and down the neck and strings and it sounds like music If you try that with regular chords or just one string it sounds like garbage I wonder how many rock songs were written by just goofing with power chords
