it's just a myth that the tabs are made of better aluminium when recyclers crush the cans before sending them to the smelters the tabs stay with the cans they don't employ people to remove the many millions of tabs from cans it all gets melted together think about it

LOL I know this is now almost 7 years after you posted this video but this is interesting to say the least! for almost 10 15 years in NC aluminum cans recycling price has fluctuated between $045-$058 a pound Now now here is the kicker it takes 21 regular size cans to make a pound thats with the pull tabs on them with out the pull tabs on them it takes 23 cans to make a pound Now if you really want to make money off your aluminum cans you need to melt them down into ingots once melted down the recycling center will pay you between $064-$084 a pound as it is clean aluminum or you can sell the ingots online to crafters any between $5-$15 per ingot! Just thought I would share this with ya'll!

I just spotted your channel on the feed, saw the pull tabs and was interested straight away I have heard about the crafters and how they pay more for the tabs I've got a scrapping channel and I sell things that other people scrap all the time (hint: it's stainless steele and you wash your dishes in it) Sold untold numbers of sinks! I work in a scrap yard There is no difference in price for a tab or a can Biggest hoax in scrap yards is that these tabs are worth more than the cans themselves I seen atleast 50 ppl in my 7 yrs as a scrap yard employee bring these tabs in expecting ridiculously amounts of money for them And guess what they are only worth 40 cents a pound So ur Ziploc or milk jug is only worth 2 bucks at most

This is a popular urban legend that just won`t go away the tabs are made from the same aluminum as the rest of the can leave them on the can! That`s why they were designed that way Aluminum cans are worth 1-2 cents each, so how much do you think those little tabs are worth? I saw on the local news a recycling center operator urging people to bring in the whole can instead of buckets full of tabs
