I recycle cans but I have a system where I collect mass amounts of them every week with a little help from my 2 brothers, I get to 500 lbs pretty quickly which brings about $250 at the scrap yard, If I lived in Michigan, New York or California that would bring boo ku bucks but I live in Ohio, anyways the key is having a steady supply of them which I have figured out how to dotake care! Or try to You only hit the scrap yard once a week; with no less than 5,000 "crushed" cans oh, fifty cents a pound is a lot!!!! Here in South Florida(giggles)try "25 cents" per pound Yeah, back in the early eighties in Detroit these aluminum cans were valued at ten cents each Those days are forever gone Comment from : South Beach Miami Art |

In Germany they are ripping us off We pay 025 Euro Cents extra when we buy a can , (thats why they almost vanished from our supermarkets) and when we return them we only get our previously paid 25 Cents back So they force us to recycle it or lose 025 Euro But we would never ever make a profit by recycling them Only the homeless will search the public trash for cans (and bottles same system there) and make a little money by it greetings from germany Comment from : Nein Danke |

I get more enjoyment in keeping a recyclable item out of the landfill, than any money they give me for them It should be MANDATORY for EVERYONE, and all businesses, recycle all items that are recyclable, including all metal, plastic, and paper items (including junk mail) We are running out of landfill space and need to be more like Japan, where they are hard-core recyclers It really doesn't take much individual effort I recycle damn near everything: paper, junk mail, plastic, cardboard of all kinds, steel, and aluminum Think of the millions of barrels of oil that would be saved per year, if we recycled all plastic and metal items that are recyclable!brbrI also have seen, that if you want to go through the trouble to do it, you can increase the value of those cans by up to six times, if you smelt them down into ingotsbrbrThere are hundreds of pounds of aluminum in that fire truck! Possibly over 1,000 pounds Comment from : alan30189 |
