For salary earners having a passive source of income is the best thing you could have , because aside the the fact that it isn’t always enough you could lose your job any day at any time , have something to fall back to is crucial , for me it is trading the Forex and crypto market and no I didn’t have that much knowledge to begin to earn that’s why I said passive income, I leave the profit making to the pro like my Advisor 'Camille Alicia Garcia' , who has been doing a wonderful job Comment from : Chris eearls |

It'd be interesting to experience what 'high income' is like As of this moment, I could manage a $340 USD emergency with cash (I don't even have credit) and my household monthly income is $1650 USD (disability benefits x2) I live a simple, debt-free life - more income would equal more security for me, not more flash and sparkle Comment from : Svartr |

Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future Putting our time and effort in activities and investments that will yield a profitable return in the future is what we should be aiming for Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it "You're not going to remember those expensive shoes you bought ten years ago, but you will remember every single morning when you look at your bank account that extra 0 in there I promise, that's going to be way more fun to look at everyday", I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life too 🙏🙏🙏 Comment from : Ronwen Thapelo |
|
asking people a survey question on if they could afford an emergency cost isn't the same as if they could actually afford an emergency cost, because the survey question does not verify people's opinions with facts The US has increasingly become an entitlement, no personal finance responsibility society People are more than willing to say they can't afford a $400 emergency expense, because they believe that somehow all these surveys will lead an irresponsible spending US government to hand out money to irresponsibly spending, entitled people Americans also have a difficult time differentiating between what they can afford and what they can't afford When someone asks them a survey question can you afford a $400 emergency expense, those people aren't looking at their finances, like their 80" flat screen, 96-month auto loan for an $80k SUV based on a $60k/yr income, $6 a day frappalattemochachino, etc and cutting back to cover the $400 expense, but are basing their response on affording without cutting discretionary wants Inflation is impactful, yes, but the truth is that Americans are using inflation as an excuse for continuing to spend high on discretionary without cutting back and saying they can't afford anything Comment from : Han Wagu |

You have to be willing to do without during the good times so it'll be easier to survive the not so good times I could have paid cash for a brand new $50-60k car But, I have never paid over $10k for a car in my entire life Also, when you buy used you need room for repairs Same logic applies to housing We need to feel comfortable living below our means Screw the Jones! They've likely already screwed themselves, anyway And, I am not referring to anyone who can actually afford to live a luxury life without consequence Comment from : LincMerc |
|
I find it fascinating that economists and economic commentators dont think of spiralling interest rates as inflation For most people in the real world it IS inflation, and far greater inflation than the increase in prices of food or other goods they buy When my mortgage payments go up my personal inflation goes up Comment from : Gloster Gloster |
