I am a 20 year old college student and do decent for my age bracket I have all these temptations of buying a new convertible, but I realize there is nothing wrong with the car I have (fun little Miata), and if I keep saving and keep that car, I’ll be able to afford something a lot nicer in time It’s fun to live while you’re young, but the 20s and 30s are the most important time to save, invest, and live below your means

I like this video Something majority of people need to listen and Adam brings up a lot of good points One thing I do disagree with is not treating yourself well I agree that mindlessly spending money is very unhealthy and can lead to very poor choices but I also think it's ok to treat yourself once in a while As long as your disciplined with putting money on your 401(k), building an E-Fund, and focusing on your hustle, there really isn't much wrong with getting something nice like say once each quarter of the year You can still act rich but also think rich Live your life but also invest in it

32 year old electrician here I made $102,800 this year I make $39/hr I saw myself doing exactly as he described Having lifestyle creep I saw my debt going up, but I have "cool" things I had to do a reset and write down my priorities If I wanted to buy something, it has to be on that priority list I now for the first time in my life have a positive net worth (assets- debt) I'm maxing out my HSA and putting in 15 into a Roth/401k brbrIt's a rush to go into a store have a desire to buy something, because I want to show off to other people, and say screw that and not buy it I laugh at the people who buy those things now because I know what path they are heading down

I'm a Millennial and I don't fit this 70 majority of Millenials living Paycheck to Paycheck I live quite a frugal Life, I don't eat out, or buy expensive stuff I don't need, I only shop at Used Stores and I cook all my meals I pay off my credit card debt in full every 2 weeks If you can't afford it, don't buy it, simple as that Saving is key to Happiness, at least it is for me since I never have to worry about not being able to pay my next bill Heck, I bought a 2012 Honda Accord Ex-L V6 with only 26,000 Miles in total for $10 grand Last October 2020, which I paid in full in cash I have enough money saved up to keep me afloat for 4 Years if I were to lose my job and not earn a penny
