These two make no sense why wouldn’t he take them to court? He will win 100 and get the money to repair his car which her KID was 100 responsible for the damages! 900$ is still 900$ People need to learn that there are consequences for their actions If you let it slide the kid will just find another way to keep breaking your car lol You have the right to use your rights but it’s up to you to fight for them Easy claim w

WHAT!!?!? brbrNo! whoever this caller is, I hope he sees these messages Everyone seems to be in agreement that this response was ludicrous TALK ABOUT SPARE THE ROD SPOIL THE CHILD! this parent obviously doesn’t take any responsibility and therefore she probably hasn’t even punished her child for this THAT PARENT NEEDS TOLD THAT ITS “ONLY $900”brbr!!!!!!! you have no right to say it’s only $900 when it’s not YOUR $900 brbrI’m getting ready to sue someone in SCC and was on here looking for advice and wisdom, I definitely did not find it in this video brbr$900 is alot of money for the average American maybe not to them, but that’s a mortgage payment for most households brbrbrYour a Christian, not a doormat brThe non-Christian thing to do would be to throw a rock at her windshield, even though she deserves it Not holding her accountable is enabling this attitude- and Lord knows we have enough entitled brats growing into adults that want no accountability brbrI admire you for looking at this rate Christian heart But she should not even be getting her child an Xbox, or PlayStation, he should be grounded for what he did! My son wouldnt even see a tv or video game for a long time!

I usually go by this rule: would this person who owes me show me the same mercy? Would they show the same restraint and understanding if the tables were flipped? Usually it's a no, and it makes me feel better, and who knowsmaybe one day my kid will do something stupid that I TRUELY would never expect them to doand I'll be in their shoesand I'll 100 pay for it and thank the lord my dumb@** kid didn't kill somebody Also, the kid needs to learn a lesson That's how childish adults are grown
Comment from : Adrian steele

Dislike! These two are not connected to the reality of the working class!
Comment from : g i

Julie Barnes
Sometimes it is NOT all about the amount of money It is about the principle of teaching the lesson that people will have to pay for their wrong doings against others Making the kid accountable for his actions now, will likely result in a more responsible adult in the future
Comment from : Julie Barnes

oliver18754
Take her to court, of course! She’s responsible for teaching the child to behave better, and this shows some kind of irresponsibility Not suing her is like saying this can keep happening to others and possibly cause a death Not good Take her to court She let the kid loose when she shouldnt
Comment from : oliver18754

listen quitely
I disagree Take her to court other wise they think there kid can do it again and they are not responsible
Comment from : listen quitely

Rosie Myers
What a horrible advice This has nothing to do with justice This has nothing to do with retribution Child damage to the car The parents of the child need to pay for the repair Even if the cost is financed with them over a year Terrible advice
Comment from : Rosie Myers

Dana Romero
It's not about the amount it's about principle terrible advise
Comment from : Dana Romero

Eric Stewart
AO sounds way outta place dismissing $900 issues but holding firm on a dating budget?brbrMakes you claim disconnected, brobrbr2) Depending on the statebrThe parent is NOT necessarily legal liablebrbrIf a parent didn't 'do' anything, except PRODUCE the child in questiontheir culpability does NOT existbrbrPerhaps, these ppl shouldn't offer legal advice w/o knowing the law of said statebrbrOften, you sue the "kid' and the judgement follows him/her around and will disappear after 10 years, unless you renew for another 10brbrNow if you take your kid and are involved or should have been supervising sometimes parents can be brought in but vandalism by some teenager is No different than if the kid had shot a gun or robbed the guythe responsible party is the kidbrbrIt doesn't automatically attach to the parentone has to remember we live in different jurisdictions and need to KNOW what the deal is, in one's resident state vs one's "feelings'
Comment from : Eric Stewart

Jose Hernandez
900 for a unemployed or minimum wage person is a lot Maybe its worth it for u Would take you weeks of normally sallary to get 900 after tax

Is phycology spiritual? is this spoke person spiritual?
Comment from : Jose Hernandez

Jose Hernandez
How Is that kid going to learn the lesson if we simply forget it? whats stopping him form doing it again?
Comment from : Jose Hernandez

Patti Meehan
$900 is not just $900 to most people Caller needs to take this lady to court
Comment from : Patti Meehan

Ryan T
being forgiven and being absolved of responsibility are two different things It's unfortunate the mother did not take responsibility for her child's actions but that is why we have courts
Comment from : Ryan T

Gnarls Farls
Ita vandalism Get a police report and take them to small claims Easy peasy
Comment from : Gnarls Farls

Akira M
He definitely should take her to small claims court This should be a lesson learned for the child and his mother Otherwise what’s preventing the kid from doing it again? He just learned he can get away with it He’ll do it again and this time hurt or worst kill someone That can’t definitely be fixed by an emergency fund No emergency fund can give someone their life back Questionable advice given
Comment from : Akira M

Annie Alexander
The judge will probably order her to pay but that judgement isn't worth the paper it's written on That leaves you with $900 to fix your truck, court cost to file in small claims, and probably time off work
Comment from : Annie Alexander

Chase Brown
But if you in baby step 2, $900 will wipe out your emergency fund I understand what they are saying but at the end of the day we have to teach our children to be accountable for their actions Someone could have been killed or seriously injured The kid has to learn his lesson I would take them to small claims court
Comment from : Chase Brown

Daniel Garcia
Step one you should of call the police brStep 2 call your insurance, ask them questions brbrIts not your fault The insurance will fix your ride and go after them for the money brbrCall your insurance brbrIf you still don't get any help Will go by her house and smash the back window of her car and frontbrbrThier Now we even brbrYou owe me money brYou'll try to sue me brWell break even
Comment from : Daniel Garcia

Jbenderii
I see a lot of people saying they gave this guy bad advice I fail to see what’s so bad about it They said he could sue or not sue, and that going to small claims court for justice is not the same as retribution Ultimately they left the decision to him The only advice they gave him was to consider which option would give his mind the most peace so he can move past the situation Everyone here acts like the told him not to sue
Comment from : Jbenderii

Allison Wadsworth
He should get his insurance involved bc her vehicle insurance could cover it
Comment from : Allison Wadsworth

Configure it
I don't agree with this at all! An emergency fund can be difficult for people to obtain Why should he spend his hard earned wages on this dishonest mother and her unruly child?
Comment from : Configure it

Rhonda Payne
I was in a similar situation some years ago, I took them to court They needed to pay for the damage to my property
Comment from : Rhonda Payne

Mary Rashelle
Why do people always put God in situations that he don't have nothing to do with lolololol
Comment from : Mary Rashelle

Raymond Ares
It seems like they all have a "one size fits all" response so I knew their answer before listening to their response Not everyone has the means to have an emergency fund either but they seem to tell everyone to go out and make more money as if it was that easy The caller doesn't want drama but if the mother doesn't take responsibility, its not his fault for subsequently taking them to court
Comment from : Raymond Ares

greencase
Once again the simps are wrong It's easy for them to sit in their high chair and say nah forgive them In the real world this touchy feely attitude will get you taken advantage of Take her to court It's a hassle for you but also a hassle for her and a lesson for her to keep an eye on her brat
Comment from : greencase

jvricklefs
Don't tell her anything The talking is a waste of time Just take her to court for your legal fees plus restitution for the damages There is nothing punitive as you didn't miss work or suffer damages other than to the physical property from the incident You already went and asked for the money and the moment they say no deal you take it to court to not waste any time
Comment from : jvricklefs

heyvern
I've taken a roommate to small claims court before for a less amount The dude left without paying his share of the rent and bills It wasn't much of a headache for me as its illiustrated here Its more about the principal of the matter You can't do people wrong without fixing the issue in some capacity, and expect to live a great life! Could you leave it to God? Sure But, like they said, you have every legal right to go to court
Comment from : heyvern

Cookieboy70
Horrible advice Hold them accountantable for their actions

The boy needs to realize there are consequences to his actions Call the police, get a report They should take him to juvenile court and ultimately pay restitution If you do nothing, the boy learns nothing
Comment from : Peggy Powell

Azidoazide Azide
After finding out whose child it was you should have went to the police and filed a report The kid thinks it's all right to throw large objects at moving vehicles This kid could potentially harm someone

Uncle Freddie
The caller said he doesn't want to make an insurance claim because his insurance will go up That does not make sense to me Why would his insurance go up? This was not a car accident or a speeding ticket
Comment from : Uncle Freddie

nolimitation
This is terrible advice, $900 is a huge emergency fund for most people Its also not stressful to go to small claims court
Comment from : nolimitation

BusArch42
She will deny it happened He has no evidence He needs to let this go The other option is to talk to the dad The dad may not even know the dad needs to know the kid is not being supervised
Comment from : BusArch42

david hale
I say go to court He will have to pay the deductible and higher insurance rates > there son did they said they would pay Especially when he knows they have money and he has no emergency money Judge Judy would say you must pay for the damage your son did to there car because he threw a rock at your car
Comment from : david hale

 South Texas Border Adventures
Call the cops and take her to court
Comment from : South Texas Border Adventures

Investing with A-Aron
$900 for a car repair for rock damage? I would get a second estimate Why do you have to get it fixed? I would let it go and don't get it fixed
Comment from : Investing with A-Aron

America First
I disagree If someone takes away years of your life and causes you to almost die, they SHOULD pay for your pain and suffering There is nothing un-Christian about that
Comment from : America First

the insurance gal
I’m an insurance agent Take her to small claims court You can recoup your court costs through the lawsuit
Comment from : the insurance gal

Maureen
Teach the kid a lesson or he maybe a criminal later on Unintentional consequences
Comment from : Maureen

Yayy Areaa
Bad advice Yikes
Comment from : Yayy Areaa

Robell Yosief
900 is a lot for rural America Getting ads off the broadcast is easy and even easier to tell someone who doesn’t have an emergency fund to eat it
Comment from : Robell Yosief

Robell Yosief
People die from that Legally reprimanding them for this action is good to save a life Call the police and file the report
Comment from : Robell Yosief

Neh P
For once I think they're looking at this situation from a rich persons perspective kind ofnot everyone just has $900 in their back pocket for kids throwing rocks at their car
Comment from : Neh P

B
File a claim with her homeowners or renters insurance If not send a demand letter for the damages and rental car She has money, wages can be garnished If she owns a home put a lien on it If she doesn’t pay it she will owe a lot more once attorneys get involved The ethical thing to do is to make her pay otherwise the boy will do worse things to other people with no consequences
Comment from : B

Esonon
This is some horrible advice Her son did something stupid and he has every right to sue her, especially when she promised to cover the expenses and changed her mind These hosts are simps, they're somewhat worse than Ramsey himself
Comment from : Esonon

Spot_of_Tea
Take photos, call the cops Learn from this guy's mistake
Comment from : Spot_of_Tea

G H_city
Mother should use this event as a "teaching" moment for her son - Son, I would "Love" to buy you the Play Station 5, but now we have to use the money to pay for the Man's car you hit with a rock Make the child responsible for their bad behavior and have them learn that actions have consequences!
Comment from : G H_city

Shut Up And Eat!! ASMR
Lol @ the mom saying she can’t afford but going on facebook bragging about how much her husband makes Mother AND son both need to be taught a lesson, otherwise they won’t be held accountable They seem like they are use to getting away with this type of behavior
Comment from : Shut Up And Eat!! ASMR

K S
Sue her If she/he doesn't have the $$ the you can garnish her wages or have a lien on her house if ordered by a judge
Comment from : K S

Seth Bender
Yeah sorry guys This advice wasn’t good Sue her End of story I’m not paying for it I’m the type of person I would pay over the cost to fix it to prove a point
Comment from : Seth Bender

Rachel Frank
I haven't read all the comments so this may have been previously mentioned, but why not have the kid take responsibility? He can't pay money perhaps and it doesn't fix the vehicle, but have him do chores at your house until he has "paid back" $900 Wash the car, mow and rake the yard, if there is a garden help there or with livestock Age appropriate chores of course Helps to teach consequences and who knows what everyone could learn in the process and how it might better the boy's future
Comment from : Rachel Frank

George Mulligan
Terrible advice Kid might do this again and kill someone These two have no business on this channel Time to unsub and hopefully Dave does a channel without these two clowns
Comment from : George Mulligan

DejectRS
It is a shame that Dave allows you two to host his show Your advice is poor and short sighted I do not always agree with Dave's views on everything, but I can at least understand his logic Yours is purely a coward's approach to being wronged It is clear that you lack the drive and strength that this show has with Dave and even Chris Stop mocking people who call in and never say that the damages a person has incurred outside of their control is "chump change" I hope that Dave takes note of the poor response to this episode in the comments, and perhaps you can get some financial and spiritual counseling from Dave
Comment from : DejectRS

Elizabeth Page
Take the high road and chalk it up to life happens Be happy you aren't married to her and the kid isn't your son
Comment from : Elizabeth Page

Hey You
I had someone steal a prescription bottle of oxycodon He was there painting He is a cousin of my landlord My landlord asked me what I was going to do I told him I was still thinking about it My landlord told me to pray about it - meaning Christian - do the right thing So, I didn’t do anything Looking back about it, I strongly feel that I should have called the police
Comment from : Hey You

Alexis
Its weird hearing them insinuate 900 isn't enough money to worry about and should be covered by an emergency fund, yet just a few minutes ago I watched a re-run where Dave says 800 is plenty of enough money to care about and go after And almost the entire Step 1 emergency fund I think Dave still remembers being broke in a more visceral way than the co-hosts do
Comment from : Alexis

Safari Arizona
I love Dave but I like these 2 too
Comment from : Safari Arizona

robert rudisill
He should reach out via text msg, and if negative results from her, ask her husband for payment If he's a man and got this good job It's a small town
Comment from : robert rudisill

rwuyoung
He should file a claim
Comment from : rwuyoung

rwuyoung
He should call the police and make an accident report
Comment from : rwuyoung

Mr lover
Well if you're a true Christian you wouldn't be wanting to taking the boy to court nor the parent you supposed to have faith in God so if your insurance payment goes up that's the will of GodbrI don't believe you have faith in God and you don't need to phone Dave show to ask what you should do the Bible tells you what to do READ IT AND UNDER STAND IT
