Unfortunately the 40mph sign like all signs road markings etc are dirty, and worn out because our unelected Woke government like to spend it on unsightly wind turbines that kill thousands of birds and hardly produce enough energy to boil a kettle Comment from : Mike Rider |

How come its encouraged to use you front brake when you are at a standstill and making your bike safe I was taught on the advanced rider course to use rear brake so if someone rear ends you, you are less likely to tip forward over you bars Comment from : EverythingGaming |

Is it correct, that if you hold a full A1 license for more than 2 years you can take the Progressive Access route to gain a full A2 license without having to retake the theory test? I know what I'm doing 95 of the time on the road but I go fully swiss cheese mentally as soon as I go in a class room test environment I was told, even with the progressive access I would need to have a valid theory test certificate - any advice welcome! Comment from : Joe S |

I cant really afford lessons with instructors unfortunately, but I love watching these videos I'd love to have a lesson at my local rider training center soon I can feel myself identifying mistakes id make by watching and its a good way to keep mental notes when I go riding You're very calm and patient with your trainees, awesome work!! Comment from : Engita |
4:16, Little tip for new riders As can be seen by the excited greyhound on the right (Which Russ checked) dogs really want to throw themselves at your motorcycle When you see one that's off a leash, slow down as you would a child Comment from : Matt |
Another fine video I really enjoy this type of instruction - I wish it was more common here in the USA I have trained several times with Eric Trow of Stayin' Safe here; the style is very similar There is so much to the art of handling a bike in a professional manner that most riders here never see Not only is it safer, it's a LOT more fun! Comment from : That guy |
Next lesson: the really important stuffbr"Drop a gear and disappear"br"When in doubt, flat out"br"Remember not to grab" Comment from : GT Marmot |
08:49 - I failed to spot the derestriction sign there on my test - there's a lot of signage plus overgrowth, parked cars around corners and the level crossing approaching Carried on all the way down to the Ferry Boat at 30 when it was derestricted Don't think it was given as a fault though; it's not a fast road Comment from : Roger Hughes |
Great video! What learner bike's are those? Comment from : Phil Aceio |

Ah yes Memories of last summer Thoroughly enjoyed doing DAS Great fun Comment from : Paul Jones |

So in England you are expected to enter the intersection on a turn even though you are not 100 sure you can get through? Comment from : Jenn B |
Was interested to hear you saying to use the front brake at 10:20 I'd always been told to avoid the front brake when moving the bike around at low speed I guess the danger is that you pull too hard on the brake when the bars are turned, making the bike fall But were you recommending they use it lightly just to control the bike's speed, or is there some other benefit to using the front in that situation (like there can be for dragging the rear when doing slow tight turns?) Comment from : dym |
Fab Comment from : Addy E |
I live in the United States but I love watching your training video's You give so many common sense tips to riding, it makes it easy to follow and remember I have to smile when I see the learning curve you have to go through when getting a license in the UK It's let say, a bit more relaxed when it comes to taking a test (what test) before you can get on a bike (of any size) over here I wish it was based on the UK system Thanks and keep the videos coming, please!! Comment from : Stuart Bowen |
Great video as always Russ Comment from : Darren E |

This is an awesome confidence booster as this afternoon, I'm going to be doing a few hour evaluation to see if I need any lessons before I book my A2 I already do quite literally all the advice you provide to your students (as well as some stuff learnt from your other videos, MotoJitsu, CanyonChasers and the Total Control and Police Roadcraft books), so I'm hoping the most I will be needing is another lesson to get used to a 750 GS as compared to my 125s Many thanks Comment from : ItsBeenDanBefore |
Always nice to hear your genuine and calming voice russ especially during these lessons where us trainees are nervous and that's what we need to keep us calm and collected Comment from : So Soraia ♡ |
Cheers Russ - great to see and follow youbrbrInteresting how some things are done differently over here (Australia); We stop in 1st gear; When you turned right onto the major road with a left & right lane you went straight to the very left where as I have been taught to start in the right wheel track and stay there, so as not to cross oil lines etc brbrThanks for raising my standards Comment from : oneblackdogrides |
I've never ridden in the UK but I observed that you had the trainees park parallel to the curb, is that standard practice in the UK? For reference here in NZ in a parking space we would park perpendicular to the curb to enable 4 or 5 bikes to use one space or if parking against a curb (no box) it is common to back in at approximately 45° to the curb Comment from : Ian Allso |
The positioning on the one way street brings back memories Failed my first test as I positioned in the middle of a one way street turning right Failed me for it and I was about half mile from test centre 😂 🤬🤬 Comment from : inmanry |

I actually miss doing my lessons now Would love to be an instructor Comment from : Aerodyll UK |
This is top-tier! Your videos should be essential viewing before even thinking about going on the road on a motorbike It’s so difficult for us now The problem is, by the time the modern motor car driver gets in his car, gets plugged into his social network, try’s to get a handle on what’s available to him re his in-car entertainment, navigational options, media and entertainment There is no capacity left for looking out the window!! God help us! Comment from : Tarmac Cowboy |
So many memories of those roads from when I was learning with you guysbrGreat video as usual also, even now I still feel I learnt (or was reminded of) a lot just from watching 👍🏻 Comment from : Matt Rawson |

Very nice to watch, you have a pleasant way of helping people adjust there mistakes to become safer and hopefully learn the art motorcycling craft for life Wish I had this teaching in 1977 when grabbing the front brake of my bantam in the wet showed me how fast things go wrongbrThankfully no harm done and I never done it since 😁 But would have been nice though to have had some teaching Comment from : Terry Black |
