Shit is so bad right now I have a 720 credit score, wife and I make just over 100k a year wanted to put between 20-25k down on a 240k house and the bank wouldn't even consider it lmao we pay $900 a month in rent + utilities I could pay that mortgage off in less than 65 of the allowed time and still be making smaller mortgage payments than I do rent

There is a shithole house down the street from me, used to be a rental that got turned into a meth lab Was on the market for 3 years at $400k Just found out it's contingent at $225k No fucking way you are getting a condo in Florida for $120k My podunk town is barely habitable during the winters Like we had to literally shut down the whole town 5 times last winter, and our winter lasted until end of April Our only draw? We got a giant body of water that people want to come and shit in when the sun is out and friendly All the houses around me have been bought up by out of town scum, charging $2500/month and not doing any kind of upkeep on these shacks Last place I rented was full of mice from a hole they left that led directly outside Took 6 months of bitching and me finally telling them I was gonna do the work my fucking self and send them the bill before they sent out an idiot who used my fucking tools to fix it brbrHow to save on rent? Get into politics and force those mother fuckers to crack down on out of town "investors" turning homes into rentals Also put a fucking cap on rents My current place went from $900/month to $1200/month in the span of a fucking year It's bullshit
