Came across to your channel I went to Luxembourg and use cash on purpose because I wanted to collect the coins with Luxembourg design Speaking of credit cards: Hong Kong credit cards do not usually request for PIN but I make sure it works by confirming at ATM while still in HK, and use the same PIN if it is asked let’s say at the pumps
Comment from : Chao Lee

Jason Temme
A good tip is to make sure the money is current if you are returning as some Notes are changed and some countries do not take the old ones For example the Czech koruna for the 20 and 50 are now coins not notes anymore, but most places will take the notes if you have them for the 50 Kč
Comment from : Jason Temme

FoyshaCollection
@2:40, traditional banks will charge very high fees plus give you a rubbish exchange rate Better off using Revolut, Currensea, Transferwise, Curve, Monzo, Starling or whatever the US equivalent is With these card you generally get the Intrabank rate or Mastercard rate

Me and my family took cash to Germany, left it in the hotel’s safe and we were stolen! Cash and passports The hotel claims that if you don’t have actual proof (like a video of someone stealing it), it’s your problem! We are not going back to Germany and I shall avoid countries that require cash from now on!

Max Sanches
A few years ago we pickup some English pound bills from our local bank in Canada When we landed in London we were informed that they were Old Bills and were not in valid We had to find a branch of our bank in London and get them to exchange the bills for the New Bills I have found that the UK changes there bills (and coins) every few years So new we check the Bank of England website to see what is valid and which ones we have to take to the bank once we land :)
Comment from : Max Sanches

The problem with having small amounts of cash in multiple spots,brYou can forget that they are there when it's time to come homebrI was in England for a month in 2017 & had a number of 10 pound notes stashed in various placesbrWhen I got home over the next month, I found 60 pounds in different places (that's not including the 300 in my first aid kit, that I thought the staff from my last hotel had stolen Sorry about that slander folks)

Dan Justice
Not sponsored or anything, but I live in Denmark and receive money from the US very often and the best American bank for travelling is Charles Schwab Bank's so-called "high-yield investor checking account" It has no minimum balance, no fees, no nothing and they have no foreign exchange fees and they reimburse any ATM fees at the end of every month The fees may not seem like that much, but they can really stack up over the course of a tripbrbrbrHow they make their money is that they just hope that you'll invest with them because you have an awesome bank account from them, but you're under no obligation to use the brokerage account at all
Comment from : Dan Justice

Ecco Eco
Why am I watching this I AM european
Comment from : Ecco Eco

1 Don't use Euronet, as some comments have pointed outbr2 If you go to Sweden, don't bother getting any cash, many shops don't accept cash anymore (bank fees, risk of robbery etc) and you might end up with a pile of Swedish crowns that keeps sinking in value every day (at least for now)
Comment from : Raphael Mak Studio

swededude1992
I am not sure if this is a Sweden thing or if it happends in other countries as wellbrbrIn Sweden, don't trust the atm It happends ocationally fake atms are put ontop of the real true atms Everything looks normal and everything in your transaction seemes normal The fake atm will steal your pincode and make a copy of your numbers on your cardbrbrBefore you do any transaction on an atm in Sweden, check your atm if it have any seemingly loose parts by giving the parts a rough touch If any part loosens the atm might be fake If the part don't loosens, the atm is most likley real Also check for clear "invinsible" tape and possible tiny cameras in weird places on the atm If you find the atm might be fake, call the police directly
Comment from : swededude1992

Daniel Guardabassio
If you travel a lot to Europe consider open an european account like N26 or Leopay, they are free and you can transfer money using Transfewise that charges the lowest fees I did it when I moved from Brazil to Portugal
Comment from : Daniel Guardabassio

Christopher X
Just a few comments:br1 Cash is not always king! In Sweden, it is becoming more and more common that stores don't accept cash at all! On the other hand, you can use a card almost anywhere: Buying a newspaper, some strawberries in the market square, an ice cream at the beach - you name it, they will most probably all accept cards!br2 If possible, avoid the ATM:s at the airport or obvoius tourist spots You get a better exchange rate at the ATM the locals use
Comment from : Christopher X
