Great video, thanks for explaining about the buses I have used Eurail twice now and I love it It is NOT for everyone however But for me I just like to explore and have the option to get on a train or off without an absolute plan I am traveling again in September of to Europe and I will be using a rail pass I actually planned out the places I am "planning" to go I priced the tickets as if I was buying them today, 30 days in advance and 90 days in advance Huge difference in the cost The cheapest individual tickets cost $475 and the price of the pass is $417 I get the senior discount The passes are on sale right now so the pass now costs $360 Those advance tickets are for a specific train I will have to pay some reservation fees, but I can go where I want, basically when I want so the pass is what I choose Again not for everybody If you are not planning to roam aimlessly, then probably not the way to go Since I want to be able to change my mind and my route I like the flexibility of the eurail pass Again thanks for this video, I am going to check out some of the things you pointed out One tip from me, download the free Eurail app and check it out Comment from : Greg Warren |

Thanks for the info Christina Once we can travel again I'm planning to spend a few years AirBnB-ing round the world, seeing all the places I've always wanted to Great tip about regional railways, which can also be a better way to see the country - and you can just turn up and take a bike on board! I'll be going through your tubes for more tips BTW, as someone definitely over 30 :) I've looked at Eur/InterRail and they never seem worth it And it's more fun to plan on the day anyway! Looking for the best/cheapest way to travel around Germany Would prefer rail but open to flights, too Comment from : JR Graff |

Traveling disabled in Europe in 2009, i actually was quite satisified with all railThalys, high speed rail from Hamsterdam to Bruxelles to Paris, then a slower, but sweet cabin suite from Paris, stopping briefly in Montreau, Suisse, due to Switzerland not being fully an EU member yet at that point, so we stopped for 2 hours on the shores of Lake Geneva, home of Cern, and site of the incident that caused Deep Purple to write "Smoke on the Water", about a Theatre they were due to record in, but during a Frank Zappa show, just prior, "some stupid with a flare gun, burned the place to the ground" i digress โOur train then proceeded to Florence or Firenze, Italy early the next am, where a driver took us to our hotel, then we did a side trip to Pisa After Firenze, next stop was Roma, where we were able to fit in a day trip, on our EURAIL PASS to Anzio Had i known we had soooo much Flexibility we had with our 30 day, 5 Country pass, we would have take more excursion, for sureNo complaints here Having a month there to travel also eased things much Comment from : Kilgore Trout |

I think I will hitchhike It's all about the "experience" of not knowing if I will get murdered Comment from : mkimmick61 |

Very good tips! I'm a bit scared to use BlaBlaCar again but I may have to when visiting Europe The first person had to cancel due to a flat tire and the second one was very rude and we ended up cancelling him for that; we had to take a last minute train Hopefully it's better this time around! I would also add that in some countries in Europe, don't discount renting a car and doing a road trip ๐ I was in Bosnia & Herzegovina this summer, and a whole week's car rental (quite new, nice to drive) was only 120 EUROS, and fuel was really cheap too That gave me freedom to explore anywhere I wanted, and get to places where it would have been impossible (or at least impractical) to take buses/trains, etc ๐ Comment from : Xennial Traveller |
