When I was learning electronics I learned something electrical either works or it doesn’t and if you are moving forward with an momentum if the power cuts out you are going for a serious spill and don’t know with all your body weight how much of an impact you will make and how many bones get broken Ouch! I once broke my pinky finger punching a wooden Kung fu dummy and it took my hand two years to get back to 100 I can’t imagine taking a spill with my 230 pound body, the damage and length of time to recover

For some riders (including me), it is easier to use support to mount and launch to learn to ride first (yaw and tilt steer) before trying to free mount Since I learned to ride first, I didn't (and still don't) one foot glide, just step and hop on like a skateboard However, based on this and other videos, a lot of new riders do just fine with the one foot drills and step and tap method, although it seems like it would be more tiring Another issue is for an experienced motorcycle rider (I started back in 1966, but it wasn't till 1968 that I was properly counter-steering, I'm 70 years old), where you learn that looking isn't going to turn a motorcycle, only (counter) steering inputs To prepare for lane changes, I"m looking to the side and back while going straight, and also looking to the side for cross traffic at intersections One of my early goals when learning to ride my V8F was to be able to move my arms and|or look around without upsetting balance or changing direction
