Very thoughtful and innovative ways to save money And I am going to start practicing most of these I am not really a minimalist but trying to practice minimalism And the goal is to attain financial freedom ASAP Off late I have created a lot of organisers around my house using the delivery packages that we receive from amazon and likes This has saved me huge amount that otherwise I would have spent if buying fancy organisers from stores I have also started following the 36 hours rule If I am tempted to buy something, I hold that temptation for 36 hours and evaluate after 36 hours if I am still as eager to buy the stuff 90 of the time, I don't feel the temptation anymore For my kids, I exchange story books and toys with like minded people in my apartment complex or borrow from library Pre planning meals and food prep on one day for the rest of the days of the week has helped me avoid food wastage tremendously Comment from : Simple Happy Home |

Or you could take it further Instead of ordering the large meal, eat at home In less time than it takes to go to a restaurant and order a meal, you could cook the meal from scratch at a fraction of the price Instead of discount haircuts, you could stop cutting your hair altogether I did this and discovered that waist length hair is surprisingly easy to care for In addition to planning your car trips, you could get rid of the car Occasionally hiring a car is cheaper than owning one Offer gas money and hitch a ride with a friend Instead of selling your stuff, stop buying things you don't need in the first place You get the idea Comment from : Lisa Lamphier |
|
We're a family of eight I freeze two loaves of bread and refrigerate the current loaf It might dry the bread a bit, but I'd rather do that than have the occasional SURPRISE moldy slice and haha to pitch the remainder Eww Comment from : Marlene Hentschel |

Agree with walking out of a store empty-handed; I’ve honestly rarely felt guilt over this! I’m so picky when it comes to things I buy, that it’s common for me to walk out without anything, and I never go shopping just to look anymore I always go to a store with a specific need in mind Also, there are now BuyNothing groups where you can ask your local neighbors for something you need, and many people either have an extra one they can give you or that you can borrow, or they just want to get rid of theirs Great way to extend life of items and save money Comment from : Diana Conn |

I've never heard this one but it works for me When I think of something I want I go right to Amazon and shop for it, and take my time to find the right one with the right price And there it ends Mostly I put it in my cart and when I actually need something like dishwasher powder that extra thing will be there and I will think through the pro's and con's of getting it Usually it stays in the cart but if I decide I want it, its there I have items in my cart or save for later from 3 years ago-turns out I really could live without it Comment from : Karla Doyle |

Noooo! Bread is not a fridge item, it can in fact shorten the lifespan of bread Also due to how absorbent bread is it will be very prone to absorbing a ''fridge'' taste Bread in the fridge is extremely prone to molds and bacteria Freezing bread is perfectly fine and is usually completely unnoticable You can safely freeze bread for months Never under any circumstance put bread in the fridge Comment from : BenCarnage |

One way I like to save money is by either diluting or using less than the recommended amount with household cleaners Often times detergents, dish soaps, cleansers, etc are super concentrated already, and I find that my using less or diluting the product, I stretch how much use I can get out of a bottle or container before having to replace it, and the product itself is still just as effective 🙂 Comment from : Kaitlyn Taylor |

Not really unusual, but whenever I’m debating on buying something in a store that I don’t really need, I like to remind myself that I can save this money for gas money instead Buying a full tank of gas for $30 will allow me to go see people I love more often, and go on little adventures that’ll create memories That’s more worth it than buying a $30 shirt that will make me temporarily happy Comment from : Lyndsey |
