I've been donating for years and have even worked at a center My boss said one donation can be worth up to 1,000 dollars They hook us up after making us wait a bit to get screened, and the whole process takes about an hour roughly I always believe they should be paying the donors more EVERY person that sticks you either just finshed training there at the center or are one of few that have stuck around a little while These are not nurses or any registered medical professionals They're entry level jobs and they don't pay them very well either It's a crazy profitable business and they should be paying us all more 40 dollars the first visit and 80 the second Every week, only twice a week

Sounds like they understand where to set up shop in order to get the most business since most people need some kind of motivation to take action So this is not taking advantage of poor people it is called a symbiotic relationship both parties are benefiting from this transaction

In NZ you can only give plasma once every two weeks, the compensation is tea and biscuits, and knowing that you have helped a fellow NZer Blood can be given every 90 days, however, you cannot donate plasma within 30 days of donating blood, and you cannot donate blood until 14 days after donating plasma Total you can do 4 x blood, and 8 x Plasma if donating both, or you can do 4 x blood only, or 26 x plasma only Not sure what the numbers are on platelet donations

They're basically flipping our plasma As disappointing as it is to know that these companies earn more than us that sell our plasma, it's still a nice side hustle I've been doing it for some months and have been stacking a large amount of money Grant it, I don't mind donating for free, for example, for American Red Cross, but after donating, an 8-week waiting period is necessary for health reasons Selling plasma doesn't require a long waiting period and I'm doing it often I'm not only getting paid, but I'm helping others and myself because more donations means more health benefits for me as well

We have so many centers in my area and they will short-change you and deny you bonuses you've totally earned My father-in-law worked for Grifols for a few years and they are just shady as hell So many times his son's would go to donate and they'd be denied the bonuses you get when you donate consistently every week, for several weeks (like so many visits per month or week) It's just honestly garbage Add to that that they only pay like an average of $20 per visit UNLESS you're getting some kind of bonus and it's almost worthless for the $10 in gas we use round-trip brbrI can't speak on the other companies, but I know Grifols NEEDS to do better for it's clients A lot betterbrbrI know that the plasma is for helping others I'm fine with that and that should still be part of the focus However, they market towards people who need money So they should keep that in mind instead of assuming everyone wants to drive 20 miles twice a week for $10, or to have to fight to get what they're owed and have already essentially worked for In an actual workplace, you're paid what you're owed for your work It's not different here
