Nobody will care what I say but - I am a valve guy - through and through - I own two rocks and personalised valve amps and vintage However I recently played a solid state line 6 - the tones I could get were pretty similar and certainly not worth the price tag for getting a valve Tone comes from the player not the amp!! Ive got Vox n Fender, as I can't get over Orange beingwell,"Orange"! It's just not a rock n roll colour! Great in the psychedelic 60s when they formed but the colour clashes with my guitars! It's like a giant toy block! I love their sound but I can't understand why they don't give the option of getting a few of their most popular Amps in black! I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this A bright orange box ruins my black n red home studio devour mannn! When I do buy one, I'll have to spray paint it blackreal pain There's a point where the narrowness of a brand identity can hinder it I think Orange have reached that point, further more, why don't all brands n amp makers have a specialist paint booth? It's not that expensive fur huge brands, and in today's age you should be able to order an amount any colour!l'm a creative visionary Think I'll start my own amp brand, any colour possible!🤣🙏😎 Comment from : The Creativity Cell |

I would argue you can definitely gig with a low wattage, tiny amp as well mic-ing up something does wonders, and it means you can just put your mic closer and turn down the input gain, and boom you're set to play live Comment from : Cerpintext |

If you're a beginner reading this, my advice is to stay away from modeling amps like the katana, and try as many different amps as possible and see what speaks to you Sure they're versatile, but you're never gonna find your own unique voice with a modeling amp, I find them to be sterile and generic I recommend solid state to start with, tube amps can get unruly fast at high volume, especially if you're still working on your string muting Bring your guitar to the store to test the amps out if they don't have the same model guitar at whatever store-you don't want to bring the amp home only to find it sounds like shit with your guitar Comment from : BrianB |
|
I'm kinda nervous because I'm buying a marshall amp and a guitar for $75 which is pretty cheap apparently and I'm afraid they're not going to work right or something xD i'm a beginner tho and this will be my first guitar so i don't need to have a super high quality amp+guitar but i'm hoping they at least work I'll be getting them later today so we'll see Comment from : MALKN |
|

I’ve never found the perfect amp and that blending 2 amps together is what works for me but I’m a tone chaser The down side is having to cart around so much gear I had it in my head that I needed to use tube amps but after I lowered my ego down I actually found a solid State Marshall that sounded very very good and blended with a tube amp really sounded good I am a bit of a sloppy player I have a bit of string noise because I play really hard and the solid state seems to make my playing sound a bit cleaner and tube amps I need to be really careful Comment from : peanutbutterisfu |
