Similar to the breakfast thing, I find that 'collecting' toiletries at hotels every now and again is helpful too especially if you're camping for most of your trip, it's easier to pilfer a single roll of TP and some soap than buying a whole bunch at a supermarket Comment from : Lachlan Richmond-Smith |
|
Tip #6 To save on hospital bills, balways/b park your bike with the kickstand side facing the tent after checking the ground for softness Unlikely, I suppose, but if your bike does get toppled because of wrong setup, you're gonna pay, and American hospitals are money machines, not health care facilitiesbrJust subscribed Comment from : deltavee2 |

Your tip about saving money on maintenance applies to bikers that don't go camping also I don't go camping and I do alot of maintenance myself and it's a great way to save money The closes shop to me wants about 240 USD for oil and filter change and I do it myself for about 60 dollars and 20 minutes plus I don't have to leave my bike and wait for the shop to finish Comment from : Buff Tankington |

1 pot dinner cooking with everything that i can find local + Oats, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, pumpkinseeds, walnut, almongs, berries (mixed) Along with diary creamer soaked during that one pot dinner is a super filling calarie bomb for breakfast along with the coffe at camp site 1 meal on the road saves a shit tonne of money, and also encourages less riding because the pot doesnt clean itself and the tent doesnt pitch itself cheers Comment from : Alinel Woundhorn |

I'm not much on camp cooking, to much gear weight and extra food However, breakfast coffee is always available at a fly shop or auto parts store Add add some fruit from a stand or store and granolas, I'm good Lunch at Subwaysbrlots of variety , salads , meats and veggies Get two, individual wrapped one for supper with your favorite beverage can't be beat! Also, Sonic is cheaper than Mcds and great coffee Watch for church dinners and roadside stands Not much on ambiance but good food Lolbring plenty of gorp and buy grocery store replenishment to make it on the road I've learned to enjoy tap water and refill my bottle and camelback at the gas store They will gladly refill for you Comment from : lakesidefrogdogs Crocker |

I eat a lot of Salad, fruits and veggies, If I'm staying any place for a couple of days, a bag of pre-made salad cost a few dollars top it with some chicken, like a deli chicken strip, or even potato salad and there dinner bryou be surprised at what you find Many deli have packages of dressing but those can be fattening LOL brThose mini oranges called cuties are great for road trips, and they go great in a salad brI do a couple of multi-day business trips on my bike every year so I find the local grocery store and work out my meals from there brbut don't cheat yourself out of a nice meal at a restaurant even if it just a inexpensive breakfast or tacos from a food truck sometimes those are better than restaurants Comment from : Donald Kline Media |

freecampsitesnet/ This is one way to really save while riding For an oil change container, go to Wal-Mart to the generic plastic dish section and get one you would use to move a single layer cake Make sure the capacity of the container is greater than your oil capacity Make sure it has a lid In the generic containers you can get away with spending $3-$4 and you have a good disposable container to do your oil change in It is also small enough to slide under most motorcycles so you don't have to fight is Put the lid on Seal it with tape and walk it over to the closest auto parts store to dispose of it properly Comment from : V Star 1300 Adventures |

150 bucks a day!? Comment from : What Ever |

One way to save is don't buy fruit bars and breakfast bars make your own there are tons of recipes on the net you can buy bulk nuts fruits and seeds and make your own before your trip and it will only cost 20 to 25 of packaged bars also get a mini stove on pot and make your own coffee I make cowboy coffee I pre mix everything my ground coffee sugar and powdered cream put it in boiling water let the grounds settle and save 250 a mug also but yourself the best water purifier you can get and make you own clean water ( really handy if you are traveling in Mexico I put through even there tap water) I'm also into stealth camping but I ask landowners quite often if I can camp by a river going through there property you would be surprised most say yes I hope these tips are helpful cheers Jim Z Comment from : jim zales |

Some good tips I found staying at an RV campground after wild camping instead of a hotel saves a lot They'll rent camping spaces for a motorcycle cheap where a car can't fit and they'll often have showers and laundry facilities Comment from : Will A |

Liked the comment about eating healthy on the roadfor me a real challenge - fast food is the enemy Two things I do: 1) believe it or not, Walmart is a good place to pick up a good prepared salad that is affordable and a makes for a lunch that isn't disgusting 2) always look for diners instead of franchises - diners have good homemade things like soups and chili (and homemade pies!) - chili is very good for you for all the lentils etc and is surprising low in fat I had chili at a diner in South Dakota once and complimented them on it, only to learn it had won first place in the whole state in a contest!
