My favorite good neighbor hotels are the ones right by Disney Springs: Good way to take advantage of the free Disney transportation (even if I need to transfer to another bus - I'm from Chicago and I'm used to it), and I can hit Disney Springs in the evening and just shamble back to my hotel

after numerous trips with my family of 6, we have figured the best way for us is to minimize spending at Disney for lodging and food We drive there, we stay off property usually in a condo with a full kitchen, we eat breakfast in our kitchen and pack sandwiches for lunch, so we only have one meal a day in the parks staying on property is very nice, but IMO not worth it if you're spending most of your time away from your room anyway

For FREE boats, take the friendship boats at Boardwalk or Yacht Club and ride between HS and Epcot Loop back around to Boardwalk and have dinner

We went o Disney last October It was horrible Absolutely horrible The food that I was so excited for truly was mediocre, and of course the characters were magical, I was so excited to meet them but we were in the park for 8 hours, we spent months planning and only got to ride 2 rides, food was a 50 minute wait in line The only speedy thing they did was get us out of the park It really felt like Disney didn’t want us there, the cast members were very short and rude I can’t blame them honestly Working for Disney must be insane

We went to WDW with our entire family of 11 (4 generations!) in October and are so glad we purchased the Memory Maker!! It was worth every penny to get the professional photos We told our adult kids to make sure they get pictures done and they did not disappoint! I made photo memory books for everyone as Christmas presents We don't do it for every trip, but I do recommend it if you're taking that "once-in-a-lifetime" multigenerational trip Yes, you can take pictures with your own phone, but other guests won't move out of the way for you the way they do for the Photo Pass employees

Going to Disney in May Using a discount airline and was able to save money by bundling a townhouse in resort off Disney and rental car with the airline tickets We planned several downdays and having extra room and a full kitchen is a must And we purchased the military discounted 4 day park hopper tickets To save money on food, we eat breakfast before going to the parks, we bring snacks and bottled water

Another reason not to buy photopass I didn't buy it last time, but looked at what photos were taken When I checked there were only three photos and two of them were of other people's ride cars

Going in January! One way I saved money was opening a airline credit card I earned 50k points after spending $1,000 I was able to get 2 round-trip tickets for $20 with enough points left over for a solo trip Worth it in my situation

It's wild to me that so many people stay on park property We went to Disney so many times when I was a kid and I didn't even know park property was a thing I didn't miss it at all As an adult, I thought it would be fun to check it out, but the value options are bat least/b double the price of a super nice resort just a 10 minute Uber away Once I did the math, I didn't understand why anyone would stay on park property Not worth it just to have a Mickey shaped pillow!

On the subject of buffets? I would say that they can also be useful for those who might want to be a bit adventurous and try new things but don't want to pay the price for a full meal / entree, only to discover two bites in that they loathe and despise what they've ordered Fair disclosure, I am exactly that sort of person At a buffet, I will often make up a plate with just 1 or 2 bites of a wide range of dishes If one or more of them turn out to be "yecch" instead of "yum" ? NO LOSS Whichever dishes tasted the best, are the ones going on the isecond/i "this time for reals" platebrbrIn short: my palate is much more open to being adventurous at a buffet, than at a traditional Table Service restaurant

Memory Maker is worth it IF you are participating in a runDisney race since race photos use the same system This is especially true if you are signed up for one of the challenges such as the Glass Slipper or Dopey When I participated in the Dopey Challenge in 2020, I had almost 150 photos in my PhotoPass account That said, most cast members will also take a photo with your phone

I love Disney, and I just went in September Honestly I had wanted to take my kid every year because of such an amazing experience we had but it's just getting too expensive and too cumbersome to where it's just NOT worth it I HATE to admit it but $8k for a week trip is just too much They nickel and dime you SO bad We may go once every 3 years or so but until prices become SOMEWHAT reasonable just gotta pass :( and it sucks

I’m going on a solo trip in late January and staying in a non-Disney hotel with a shuttle (so I don’t need to rent a car) and it’s not cheap but mostly affordable so my suggestion is ditch the spouse and kids

The memory maker thing happened to me and my mom on our trip, my brother hated being in photos the whole trip and whined the whole time We booked Memory Maker with Undercover Tourist, but something went wrong and they only gave us the tickets only package and we didn’t realize until our last day in the parks, it sucked

Husband and I had to cut our annual trip in half, economy was not nice to us this year Absolute bare bare minimums: flight(no luggage, just backpack), mears, essential food, hotel, tickets Still came in at $3200 for 45 days

I wish The Enchanted Rose upgrades their cocktail making process, the balances were way off and dilution rate was abysmal when I visited Dahlia Lounge at the top of Coronado Springs has better cocktails than Enchanted Rose imo

These disney parks are too expensive for the gross conditions How do I know if the food is prepared in good sanitary conditions when the rest of the park is falling apart? Walt and Roy would keel over again if they saw the state of disrepair their parks have now become Is it too much to ask for the trash bins to be emptied? Or freshen up paint? I think this video undersells Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique by quite a bit, it’s one our best memories from our tripbrbrAJs dead on about it depending on the child They go great lengths to treat everyone like royalty, and make your time there fun and magical…but if your child doesn’t care about fancy hair and princess dresses, an hour in the park being pampered could be a total waste But calling just a fancy photo is pretty unfair brbrAnd absolutely bring your own dress from home

Iv visited florida with my family 8 times from the UK over the last 12 years and i must say the price increase (also related to the drop in the pound) is insanity Our last trip in 2018 prior to the pandemic we budgeted around £2000 for a 2 week holiday spends, on the trip we just took (during hurricane ian I might add) we budgeted £3500 and spent £5000 Its insanity and the highest increase seems to be in unavoidable expense such as food and drink I love love love disney world and florida in general but the prices are out of control brbrI guess the problem is though, I would do it all again tomorrow irrelevant of cost and that's how supply and demand works
