Frugal Rules with John and Nicole Schmoll
Which live TV streaming service has the best platform for the price?
Comment from : Frugal Rules with John and Nicole Schmoll

angus young
spectrum streaming is like 20 bucks i see little to no use for a dvr if you stream
Comment from : angus young

tom ray
I’m not paying anywhere near 75 a month That puts me back to the price of cable
Comment from : tom ray

Vlaska Magija
I use Fubo and happy so far

Keyfarm
Great video, thanks!
Comment from : Keyfarm

Justin Farmer
I just got hulu+ today since it has most of all the sports channels YouTube tv doesn’t have my MLB network, but hulu pretty much has every sports channel, and it comes with the ESPN+ option with the 6999$ plan which YouTube Tv doesn’t But hey it’s really just preference so everyone is different I guess the only downside to hulu is all the ads
Comment from : Justin Farmer

Henry Hoffman
We’re trying Cue TV, some bugs but you get every channel including sports and Premium channels for $59
Comment from : Henry Hoffman

You Are Voices
Fubo is the best option! Don't care for Turner channels
Comment from : You Are Voices

Stephen Johnson
They all suck!
Comment from : Stephen Johnson

SCT47
Which service has the MOST 4k content and 4k live tv channels? Can't seem to find it
Comment from : SCT47

Tammy Jenkins
what customer service do you get with YTTV and silly question but I'm new to all this, cutting the cord Comcast just went up to 19700 a month for 125 channels, DVR box and 200 mbps internet and I use my own modem and router!! And the silly question is I bought a Fire TV Stick 4k Max (that's the sticks name on the box) if I decide to go with YTTV or ny other streaming service can it go through my new stick I ask because my smart tv's remote does not have a mic feature on it's remote AGAIN LET ME REPEAT I'M NEW LOLOL
Comment from : Tammy Jenkins

Rodney Robbins
All of your recommendations are very expensive
Comment from : Rodney Robbins

Brian Hartman
Great summary :)brbrI've been on Sling and Philo, and I'm back to YouTube TV now It's a little more expensive, but there are more channels than Sling TV, and I find it a bit easier to navigate
Comment from : Brian Hartman

Chosen One ♒
I'm Looking for a streaming service that has USA Network so we could watch WWE Wrestling live
Comment from : Chosen One ♒

LuvLee0207

YouTube no commercial as of today for has stopped truth
Comment from : GypsyAdventures

Taylormade2350
You definitely get local channels on DTV stream on their 75 a month package Not sure what you're talking about needing to pay 100
Comment from : Taylormade2350

Dorky Dicken
Time to do another review on a new contender to the battlefield they've won my subscription - HeroGo Tv, they've got just as many channels as YouTube TV or Fubo Tv and as price in range with Sling Tv Give them a 7 day free shot! I get I believe it's 219 channels at $5499 a month which is cheaper than YouTube TV, Hulu Tv and Fubo Tv and more channels And flexibility than Sling Tv
Comment from : Dorky Dicken

beaugator
Your comparo was very good and helpful But, my question wasn't addressed here or anywhere I've looked Question: When recording with the DVRs, which ones have a way to account for overtime in sports or racing? My big pet peeve is recording a race that runs over the scheduled time and have the recording end before the finish! I had one cable service where you could add time to the recording in the setup menu so, I would add an hour to account for overtime My DirecTV streaming box doesn't allow for that so, I'm done with it Which way do I turn?
Comment from : beaugator

Charles Greenhill
YouTube TV web interface is eating on a computer is absolutely garbage If watching on a TV using the app it works ok at best but is far from how you would interact with a traditional cable DVR For example when adding a show it will record all the shows as there is no option to record just new episodes Also has additional ads on top of network commercials Overall with many limitations and a basic interface it does provide all the wanted channels but at a price that’s nearly as much as you would spend to just get cable
Comment from : Charles Greenhill

Ricardo Diaz
I’ve tried ALL of the live services I’ve settled on YTTV It not perfect, but it’s the lesser of all evils in my subjective opinion
Comment from : Ricardo Diaz

Carl Wilson
You know that sound of someone talking where you get the feeling they are reading? I get it here
Comment from : Carl Wilson

Teresa Roberts
So happy I found your channel You are both so helpful Love your format and organization!
Comment from : Teresa Roberts

dathyr1
Thanks for your great video reviews My question is always on streaming platforms is not which one is the best, but which one I can afford!!!!!brbrAnyway, thanks again Take care
Comment from : dathyr1

Northern Dame
Bunk Streaming but I know it’s here to stay…rich and poor now
Comment from : Northern Dame

Virtually Rick
As usual John & Nicole hit it out of the ballpark with their in depth and complete review of the best TV/Streaming Service options available They have changed the landscape of personal finance and consumer websites to include the best recommendations and solutions found on the Internet!!!
Comment from : Virtually Rick

Ted Villiere
I am going to try You Tube per your recommendation With Fubo I have had so many spinning circles we can't watch the LG TV for 6 weeks I have had several tickets and 15 emails trying to fix it, but no luck Even changed the DNS We have two old tv's that work with Roku, Sony is pretty good Customer service is horrible!
Comment from : Ted Villiere

Robert Fousch
When you don’t include a bitrate analysis this means nothing Worthless channel
Comment from : Robert Fousch

Greg Haase - Personal Training
Haven't had a live TV streaming service since last June Sling is half off ($2750) for orange and blue right now so using that now for NBA playoffs and some soccer Otherwise I can't justify paying $50 or more for just some sports
Comment from : Greg Haase - Personal Training

Chris Golladay
The time now is internet is so high and with streaming cost is almost the same as cable for mebrCox cable
Comment from : Chris Golladay

Louis Dorato
One YTTV option that was not spoken about here is the 4K option With that, not only additional content is available in 4K, but the added bonus is that it provides unlimited streams at home
Comment from : Louis Dorato

Kevfactor
to take a littel break from anime, I was thinking amazon because I can get a discount but Im not sure if it's really worth it tbh as you got to sub for a year to see any good savings I was thinking HBO max but not sure I mostly just want some movies and cool sci fi things to watch
Comment from : Kevfactor

Pat Bates
Yah forgot DirecTV stream get everything amç everything i got it it get most channels out everyone you put in first in last
Comment from : Pat Bates

Jack N
You didn’t mention a big difference-at least for me- on recording Hulu live let’s you record first run shows only, you tube records all shows
Comment from : Jack N

Cory Nelson
Just starting the streaming process Went and got fubo for my sports but as of this week it won't let me watch them Also had problems with it loading on my smart tv I had to reboot my TV on several occasionsi cancelled it yesterday
Comment from : Cory Nelson

Scott Ostrowski
Had YouTube TV until the price hike…Hulu Live TV now looks really good for $64 including tax and Disney + and ESPN +
Comment from : Scott Ostrowski

pish6969
DTVS blow away all of these Yes it’s more expensive but picture quality and getting to watch your local RSNs are no brainer if you like sports If you don’t watch sports go cheap
Comment from : pish6969

Sarai Bucciarelli
I got the $99 Frndly TV yearly plan Its cheaper to buy per year Hallmark Drauma is an add-on price if you want it
Comment from : Sarai Bucciarelli

socalifone
I currently have Hulu live TV The video/audio syncing can be a mess Constantly having to change the channel to reset the syncing issues And yes I have outstanding WiFi speeds and connections Nice video 👍👍
Comment from : socalifone

Eric F
Hello do you think ABC will be back on Hulu tv live ?
Comment from : Eric F

Michael J Orcutt
I have had DTV Satellite uninterrupted since 1996 Because of my longevity, I negotiate great deals I’ve tried the streaming services Nothing compares to the picture quality, channel availability, guide, etc I don’t have to have a bunch of apps that work with some channels and over the air antenna It’s all in one place And the ability to AirPlay to any other TV/iPad/iPhone with no additional cost By the time you add up Internet for the streaming services, you aren’t saving anything No brainer for me
Comment from : Michael J Orcutt

Bo8740
I really appreciate this subject right now, especially I just resigned with sling and here’s why For sure the price hike by YouTube TV was one reason, but they’re just like my cable company was A lot of channels I don’t want, and I won’t watch With sling yeah there’s some but not as many And $40 a month, I don’t know how you beat that I can’t believe DVR still a big thing but I guess it is With on-demand the way it is I don’t know why you need that But 50 hours of dvr, that’s not enough? I do have an antenna for my local channels, so that’s not an issue for me Thanks again
Comment from : Bo8740

Mark Johnson
you guys need to point out the functionality of the services not just price and channels ive tried them all and for the price , you tube and fubo work the best i liked the direc tv also but what i went through over the years with their sattelite service i hate them with passion! you need to show actual videos with the guide and compare them and ease of use some of the guides on these services are awful!
Comment from : Mark Johnson

David W
I enjoy all these reviews as they really describe strength and weakness for all of the options I still have to agree that Youtube TV is the best option, even with the new pricing It offers the best balance of what people were able to watch with cable, without the pricey equipment rentals if you like DVR I had to take Philo also, as I did not want to live without A&E or Reelz Still, my total pricing is well less than Spectrum, and is perfect for a traveler like me who uses my Firestick on the road I still wish I had an option including MeTV without antenna, I love the older shows too Are there antenna options that don't require wires everywhere? I just hate that look
Comment from : David W

Monika Makarewicz
well im in process of lining things up to cut the cord I just checked frndlytvcant believe how many channels i want that they dont offer TLC, Discovery, Animal Planet, HGTV, Foodnetwork, etcim thinking of using philo or hulu i guess scary im on fixed income and my unreliable service has gone up yet again to 174 for bad service of basic internet and cable
Comment from : Monika Makarewicz

Dave Swanson
They all suck because of ADS ADS ADS
Comment from : Dave Swanson

pete scott
Youtube just went up to 73 Doesn't matter, mine is free
Comment from : pete scott

Ant W
Okay I enjoy sling tv but I have T-Mobile internet and it makes sling tv think I am in Chicago I tired calling in they can’t do anything about it Like nothing my main concern is getting the airtv anywhere or whatever it’s called and it still tells me I am in Chicago I am thinking about Hulu because of everything that comes with it
Comment from : Ant W

Rob Burcham
Here I am with my broken record of we don't need live tv We can afford more on demand channels if we don't have live tv 70 or $75 for live tv is just nuts, might as well have cable Sling's $40 is the only halfway reasonable one with good content I had Sling but only watched a couple of news channels and finally figured out that isn't worth $40 So until someone comes along with a sports/news channel for a reasonable price I won't be wasting money on 100 channels I don't watch
Comment from : Rob Burcham

Grey Eagle
Frndly is a great service I always tell people to start with that plus an antenna for their locals While it may not be the best option for mega sports fans, there still is a lot of sports being aired on the broadcast networks, and an increasing amount on the free ad supported apps like roku channel, Plex, and tubi
Comment from : Grey Eagle

Michael Wyckoff
I'm surprised how good Frndly is Good price and you can record TV shows
Comment from : Michael Wyckoff

andy graning
Here's a suggestion Don't think of must have channels, instead think about must have shows The longer that I'm a cord cutter, the more my family realizes we don't need live TV If you're worried about finding new shows, don't sweat it YOu'll be surprised how you'll find out what's new Word of mouth is still powerful
Comment from : andy graning

Eddy Lindenstein
DTV Stream was unfortunately the only option for me in Seattle if I needed RSN's and Turner networks - it's the only non-cable option that have both
Comment from : Eddy Lindenstein

Jack Smith
I have used YouTube TV for the last 3 years I am happy with their service However, there has been a small problem I recently purchased a 4K TV When I watch using this monitor, I noticed the YouTube TV image will pixelate from time to time; but not very often I have checked my network connection and the problem appears to be with YouTube TV Also, I don't have this problem with Netflix, Prime Video or any other streaming service Further, the other TVs in the house, none of them are 4K, have this problem I know there is a YouTube TVs 4K service available for $5/month but I am reluctant to sign up just for one screen But I am wondering if I need to in order to stop the pixelation Any thoughts?
Comment from : Jack Smith

Brother John Causey
Oh congratulations on your team win, Kansas State that is
Comment from : Brother John Causey

Brother John Causey
Youtube tv is still my #1 pick for best live tv service
Comment from : Brother John Causey

trooperX22
How about picture quality? Doesn't matter who has what channel if the picture quality looks like garbage I'm interested in trying out Sling Tv, do they stream in at least 1080p? How about the others?
Comment from : trooperX22

Lou Pollock
Congrats to the Wild Cats! Hope you have some magic for my Aztecs against Alabama!
Comment from : Lou Pollock

Armando Fernandez
At this moment I have Sling blue
Comment from : Armando Fernandez

Dan Kelley
Time to dump YouTube TV & get a few much smaller additives to take their place If peeps would start dropping & stop paying these constant price increase, companies may actually do something proactive & provide Ala Carte service for those who don’t want to pay exorbitant pricing for sports, etc
Comment from : Dan Kelley

OSLEDO
if you are o a buget $4000 SLING
Comment from : OSLEDO

Jeremy F
You should create a video comparing the amount of advertising time per hour on the major streaming services It’s not the same
Comment from : Jeremy F

jblooz
I've been a Hulu + Live subscriber for a couple of years The main reason is they seem to have far more on demand shows that I want brbrNow that they dropped my local ABC affiliate, I've decided to "punish" HULU by reducing my plan to the minimum package which will allow me to use them for on demand shows, and sign up for YouTube TV for my live TV and NFL Sunday Ticket discount Not counting the football add, I'll actually pay slightly less per month with the dual subscription brbrMonthly streaming plans enable us to "punish" services for price hikes, poor service and dropped channels At least it feels good to think that anyway Bottom line is that we're in a time now where the consumer has control over who they pay for entertainment
Comment from : jblooz

guezcisco
Youtube gone for me I bought an antenna and get all the locals for free and use netflix for 11 dollars a month for tmobile customers 4k video I watch pluto, tubitv and freetv all for free
Comment from : guezcisco

Damon Fowler
Hulu Live gives u 3 streams now
Comment from : Damon Fowler

Sly R
You guys do a great job But all these streaming services are going Hike their prices sooner or later YouTube TV has went up to 7299 Love YouTube for its sports but I will pause them in June till October to save some money Also love my antenna Like YouTube a lot best sports and now they have the NFL ticket🤷‍♂️
Comment from : Sly R

Space Ghost
I agree that YouTube tv is the best PREMIUM service, even after the price cutbrTheir Multiview feature works well so farbrWe should be able to choose the channels we want to include by the time football season starts, so that issue will go awaybrI'll stay with them for now because I'm getting pretty much everything I watch, and IMO their audio and video quality is just finebrAlso, I've never had customer service issues with them brAs I've said before, I'm more surprised that they held their price for as long as they did
Comment from : Space Ghost

Jeff Webb
Why cut the cord if all the streaming services you mentioned their streaming prices plus internet is just about the same as cable We are cutting the cord and not subscribing to those we are going with a small antenna and free streaming services and low cost like peacock , discovery plus, paramount plus ➕️
Comment from : Jeff Webb

AJ
I have YouTube TV which just announced a rate increase to $7299/mo That's starting to feel like the Dish satellite service that I dropped for cord cutting albeit without all the equipment fees I think I am going to give Sling TV another try The main problem I had before was that the OTA DVR for my locals did not work properly I have a friend who has a Tablo now and it does work somewhat, although his indoor antenna does not pick up many channels I am thinking I could have a good setup with a Tablo and Sling Blue I have an outdoor tower antenna and I can get a lot of stations
