I haven't been deer hunting since I moved to Iowa from Wyoming over 8 years ago I miss the hunting in Wyoming and overall there gun laws and hunting regulations are just completely better !!!! But this year I am going for muzzleloader season here in Iowa and am buying a CVA also going to be going shotgun season using the 450 bushmaster Comment from : Joshua Milligan |

When I bought my first inline about six months ago A Used CVA Hunterbolt Magnum, I bought some Powerbelt ELR's exactly like you were shooting there 325 grains Now all I see and can find anywhere are 330 grains It's no big deal at all, 5 grains difference and that is what makes me wonder WHY they would up the grain weight by 5 grains? If anybody has any idea why they would drop one bullet for one only 5 five grains heavier I'd really like to know I'm up to four inlines now and they all shoot this bullet, And many others, well The accuracy king in my rifles is the Hornaday SST in 250 grains I've got some in 300 grains and hear they shoot even better, but I haven't shot any of the 300's yet and I don't see how they could be any more accurate than the 250's It's hard to argue with busting gallon water jugs at 250-300 yards Comment from : ditchdigger93 |
If you can find the Starfire Tripple 7 pellets in your area, I'd suggest giving them a try They are a little hotter than the regular Tripple 7 pellets and only 33 grains, so it takes three instead of two I've shot four of them as both of my guns are Magnums but get that thumb over the wrist of that rifle if you do, (as you should anyway), they know what recoil is You will too after shooting four of them Laying that thumb along the side of that rifle is a damn good way to get a severe case of scope eye I've seen guys cut themselves a new eyebrow doing that Oh, those Powerbelt ELR'S are a fine bullet as far as accuracy, I haven't shot a critter with them yet but I'm guessing they'll make a big hole in one I have shot them out to 300 yards though and I can tell you they're accurate, out of my smoke poles anyway Comment from : ditchdigger93 |
I just bought one to go muzzle loader hunting, I like it so far Comment from : Win94ae |

I've had a cva wolf for years now and don't buy the pellets, way too expensive get some goex and measure and pour I use a power belt and 100 grains so so much cheaper Comment from : JAson Gross |
When seating the projectile you should push down on the rod with 40lbs of steady pressure That way the powder bullet is firmly seated with no air gap If you don’t know what 40lbs of pressure is practice pushing down with rod on bathroom scales Good hunting Comment from : Gas Check |
Newbie question here, seeing that I just bought my Wolf 2 days ago, how do you keep the powder dry while up in a tree for several hours in the woods I am a saddle hunter, weapon hangs from the side of the tree until needed, curious about this Comment from : carstensxdm45 |
have one, nasty accurate, completely affordable, you can’t go wrong Comment from : tony stark11 |
The gun may be budget-friendly but the ammunition is not I would try patched round ball with a small powder charge at like 25 to 30 yards it could probably still take down dear even if it only has about 200 ft pounds Comment from : Brett Duffy |

I've seen those 50 cal ELRs on the shelves at my LGS and wasn't sure how u went about loading them with such a long point Does it require a special ramrod tip to accommodate the bullet tip so to not bend or mess up the bullet as u load it? Comment from : Raevyn Homestead |
