HellobrThank you very much for you videos They definitely make me thinkbrQuestion about the Initial Portfolio Value If I have a TSP with 13M and 300K cash would you enter 16M for this value? I was wondering about subtracting value because any time that you take money out of the TSP, you pay Taxes Does this Portfolio Value field account for Taxes?brThank you sir Comment from : Michael Vadney |

I am shocked that you love this calculator! It claims I’d have a 0 failure with a maximum income of $131,000 annually with $24M invested (80, 15, 5) even with $119,500 in pension income… so, $11,500 annually for 30 years no matter what withdrawal strategy? Comment from : Richard McGrath |
|
Josh, I did not see an entry for Social Security Is that factored in already? Comment from : brad w |

Thanks for doing a video on this It does look very helpful However, correct me if I'm wrong, to use this calculator effectively, do you already need to know how much you expect to spend annually in retirement, after which this calculator helps you determine whether you'll run out of $ over the course of your retirement if you use your retirement portfolio savings and additional income to cover any resource spending gaps you may have? If so, which calculators/tools do you recommend using to determine the critical issue of how much you should project/expect to spend annually in retirement, starting in year one and projecting outward? TIA Comment from : jerrym |
|
I can't find how this tool accounts for income taxes Any suggestions? Comment from : T M |

I am sure that this calculator is sophisticated But I get the same results for 35 years in retirement with divide your nest egg by 25 and you get your starting annual withdrawal Or take your annual budget divided by 005 Either should bring you out into eternity Using this calculator, I had more money at 35 years than 30 Comment from : Scott Engh |
