Good video, but I do have some lingering doubts on the Calculator depicted herebr- This model assumed the individual has Zero savings at present? There should have been a field where we can enter one's current savings? That should be offset against the corpus required, right?br- Is the Corpus treated as a Reducing Balance? Income for funding expenses (post retirement) will come from the Corpus (it must!), So while your Corpus will GROW annually at your estimated return (even after retirement), the Corpus will also REDUCE annually by the expenses that you need to cover! Post retirement, every year, you will be withdrawing X-Amount from your Corpus to cover your life expenses So while your Corpus will grow, it will also reduce by the amount you keeping withdrawing from the Corpus each year, so in the long term it is a Reducing Balance Corpus (unless the Rate of Growth estimate is Greater than the estimated expense)

Rachana jee, you may call me a CONSERVATIVE investor I stay away from shares, stock market and mutual funds and equity linked investments I invest only in PPF, LIC (insurance policies and pension plan), Post Office (RD, TD and NSC), Bank FD and RD etc I shall be superannuating in June 2028 I have cut down my home loan tenure by five years by continual increase in EMI and my home loan liability ends in June 2024 (ie 12 months remaining) I will have 48 months to retire from end of home loan and wish to invest this EMI amount in SECURED investments (CONSERVATIVE INVESTOR) I will be able to shell out Rs 75000/- (Rupees Seventy Five Thousand) per month for investing I already have PPF (for myself and for my wife), I have LIC pension plan (non-equity linked) and couple of LIC policies which are getting matured one every year till year 2027 I have some investment in Post Office NSC, RD and TD and Sukanya Samriddhi account for my daughter (who is now 18 years of age studying in 1st year of graduation) I plan for her marriage once she completes her PG ie around year 2028 I request your advise for more investment options for me which can take care of my retirement as well as fund for daughter's marriage

I think it is important to spread funds in channels that are poised to do well in recession I'm currently finishing my 6th duplex and retired from the rat race at 35 and what funded all these were strategic investing in stocks and consistent trading crypto I'm exceptionally well positioned for what's to come because my portfolio is solid enough to withstand and outperform irrespective of the market trends

suprit dk
Thanks for your videos and motivating people to think about retirement savings early in career I have found a few thing that are not practical from this video and have listed them below:br1: Inflation of 8 assumes that someone would have same level of lifestyle till they die without lifestyle inflationbr2 It seems like inflation is only applied till a person retiresbr3 Requiring 80 of current expenses is a flawed assumption Also the amount calculated seems to be wrong for some reasonbr4 Video talks about “12 get table from equity” without any mention of risk Yes, 100 is also gettable if you do sports betting or horse race betting Risk is what someone retired should think about not return Worst thing that can happen after retirement is that you lose all of your money from an investment
Comment from : suprit dk

PK
Questions: br1) You have talked about creating corpus but not how can one get monthly pensionbrEg if I have 3cr at my retirement how can get monthly pension coz interest rate in banks will be 1-2 that time in Indiabrbr2) how to get incremental pension each year? Reason : at 80 one may need more money than 60
Comment from : PK

Comment from : Sudheer Gaddipati

Pranav Gautam
9:35 - If you're wondering why the required corpus is less if you retire early, it's because of the 'Return on corpus' The earlier you build your corpus, the more interest you'll be getting as the time invested would become more and more So, the requirement of the corpus decreases It's an inverted U shaped curve (a little slanted at the start) Try it in the excel Put the retirement age only 5 years from your age now and keep increasing, the amount will keep increasing and decrease at the very end of your years All thanks to the interest on investment
