My car has more than 20 years and still works OK, not expecting to buy a new one any soon Buy a car and use it until it "drops it's wheels", it's the more efficient way to own a car :) Comment from : Luis Sismeiro |

Inflation is the silent Thief that will steal your wealth Your future You will become poorer and poorer unless you can exceed this hurdle rate!!brbr4 return may have worked in the past, but it is pitiful nowbrbrYour purchasing power is shrinking every day as the central banks inflate the currencybrbrThis type of planning in todays (post Covid ) world is futile, think Bigger and get out of FIAT Comment from : Derek White |
|

Hi Andy, great video, how do I get the link to download the calculator? Comment from : Mike Lord |

This is a nice video and it's a good general guide to what retirement would cost Regarding tax though, if growing your wealth through a pension, it's my understanding the provider takes tax at source when you drawdown Also, I think pensioners pay a normal income tax rate in drawndown and not a dividend tax rate Another tax to think about is the dreaded lifetime allowance This unfairly penalises pension pots withdrawing over a certain amount over the lifetime of the pension Currently, it's around £1,073,100 The allowance was meant to go up in line with inflation but our government has frozen because they need to raise more tax Comment from : Gareth Clayfield |
|
Great spreadsheet that ends up with the numbers on the door for a stable retirement - but in the UK part of this end number will end up being government pension - reducing your numbers by 100 -200K (single or married, SERPs or not) and if you are saving surely you would make those tax efficient (pension plan) and claim it back? Comment from : Tracy Townsend |

This is awesome! Have downloaded and saved, can't wait to fill it out next time I have some spare time and be shocked or surprised at my spending habits Thanks so much for using your time to make this and distribute to us for free Comment from : LK |

Greetings Andy! Yet another great vid At age 53, I have invested well (real estate, mortgages, self-directed traditional IRAs, an HSA, and an IRA/taxable trading accounts, a 401K and a pension) With 2 full time jobs, I am investing on a bi-weekly basis in a conservative but aggressive manner (I do the wheel strategy on dividend stocks to compliment my RE and 401K/SEP IRA contributions) I would like to continue on this track but stop working 1 of my jobs in exactly 3 yrs (I will continue to work the other FT time for the excellent benefits for an additional 4 yrs) It’s time for me to start putting the numbers down to make that a reality so your topic is perfectly timed One tiny problem I can’t see where to download your retirement calculator? I believe Comment from : Tami Dillon |

Andy, super useful and informative video, thanks for taking the time in producing Just a quick couple of questions about the spreadsheet 1) Does this factor in inflation 2) what age have you allowed for actually commencing retirement 3) With regards to tax, did this include the 25 tax free drawdown allowance of your pension pot investment? Keep up the good work Comment from : Darren Rackett |
