Thanks for pointing this out After speaking with our tax advisors, we will refund the sales tax on your order and our website will be updated to reflect this change in the coming days
br
brJust to provide some context here, interpreting bullion tax laws is a very large undertaking There is not an out of the box tax solution for bullion dealers and we have spent upwards of $1MM developing our proprietary tax solution Each state has their own set of rules which can vary based on metal type, product, dollar thresholds, jurisdictions, etc Additionally, states are regularly making updates which adds to the complexity
br
brI’m confident that we get sales tax right 999 of the time and we’ll continue to invest and audit our sales tax policies on a regular basis
br
brWe appreciate your business Thanks again for bringing this to our attention Comment from : JM Bullion Inc |

Being in Nevada, I pay NO sales tax when I buy bullion However, there are times that an online offer is great I found a little advantage buying Apmex products through Walmart I believe they are now offering other dealers products too My reason for using Walmart is that I have a Capital One Walmart Card that gives a 5 cash back on online purchases That becomes a 5 reduction on the price paid so in and of itself it is a no brainer However, one purchase through Walmart buying an Apmex poured silver Kilo bar However, Apmex charged sales tax and when I queried they claimed it was Walmart's policy and they were merely complying Like you say, this was bullshit I got nowhere with Apmex but comp[lained to Walmart (not an easy thing to find) that I am a Nevada resident and they were unlawfully charging me sales tax The response was being handled by a turtleslow!!! In my frustration I approached the local sales tax authority making them aware of this practice and was told they would look into it Whatever that means, it felt like another "they went thata way" response Six months later, I received a credit to my Walmart Capital One card in the amount of the sales tax charged I also received an email mentioning this matter was address and closed Unfortunately, I see Walmart is still collecting sales tax for bullion purchases BUT, I am remaining vigilant to their site's practice and perhaps they will update their state database etc in their checkout process Meanwhile that Silve Kilo became the deal I thought I had off the price and no sales tax Not too bad Comment from : Donn Marier |

My last JM experience… My order went missing from JM due to a glitch in their website (orders were not including the PO Box number) and they did nothing to investigate because they said it arrived at USPS I had to deep dive into the problem myself USPS denied it showed up It actually turned into a federal investigation after UPS said they gave it to USPS Wasn’t confirmed but I do believe someone at USPS was looking to take it once declared missing UPS was awesome They sent an investigator to USPS and literally told them to go find it For three weeks it sat on a workers desk tucked away at USPS Not a single person asked the question, hey does this person have a PO Box here? JM did nothing to help me out It was a big order toobrbrEdit: I’ve ordered from SD ever since, and quit going to that post office I know JM isn’t a shipping company but I needed info for the insurance claim and it was time sensitive I couldn’t get through to the appropriate parties there, nor would USPS do an investigation The UPS investigator took initiative and truly helped me Comment from : New Mission USA |

Bruh I'm with you 100 apart from what you said about Europe and the 20 VAT - "That's why I don't live there - we don't pay taxes on that crap"brWell mate, I'm in the UK and guess what? If gold and silver go up in price you will be paying A LOT more tax than me Legal tender gold is CGT (Capital Gains Tax) and VAT-free, while silver is CGT-free in legal tender form What's the situation in the communist paradise of the United States? Ah yes, you have to pay CGT on ALL gold and silver regardless of its nature and have to declare even $10 to the IRS That my friend, is why I choose not to live in communist countries like the United States (Sorry, you had that coming) Comment from : Pax |
|
Sd bullion has had the cheapest premiums this year Comment from : Empty_Pockets |

Be aware that eBay has similar problems I have bought bullion products from online dealers who utilize eBay and was charged a sales tax on some of my orders and my state does not collect any sales tax period, nada, zilch Had to go round and round to get most of my tax refunded to me I have not received all my money back I refuse to purchase bullion on eBay anymore Their tax specialist must have taken a job at JM Comment from : Jeffrey Wolski |
|

Florida Stacker, when I jumped into the Gold & Silver stacking community (more like obsession), I bought almost exclusively through Provident Metals They almost always seemed to have the best price on most bullion, and the customer service was excellent Fast forward to a couple years (or so) ago, and Rip-Off-Mex swallowed them up, along with JM Bullion It didn’t take but a few months (if that) before their prices ballooned, just about matching Rip-Off-Mex’s prices Needless to say, I haven’t purchased anything from them since I refuse to pay exorbitant premiums, in order to fill the pockets of the greedy, and I don’t care about the whining of overhead due to larger variety My go-to now is Bold Almost always the absolute lowest prices on bullion, and many semi-numismatics as well Let’s face it, as consumers, and as stackers, we have to go where the money is (that is say, the lowest amount of cost) Comment from : Victor Frankenstein |
|
I can see that I WON"T be using JM Bullion Comment from : Haunted Highway 216 |

I have made several JM purchases I am in Texas I have never been taxed on any silver purchase I did get taxed for copper rounds, but no tax for silver rounds or silver currency from any country including the US Just monitor any purchase With the copper rounds, I got a phone call from a human being in the USA and was explained that copper was not exempt like silver and gold and that I would be taxed on that purchase I have had very good luck with JM Bullion Comment from : Tim Simeroth |
|
Thanks FS I am in Oregon and I've been stacking seriously for the last 5yrs I'm up to 800 out in silver and 5 ozt in gold (25k & 10k $) I primarily shop with SD bullion, Pimbex and Hero bullion out of Texas I have never been taxed, and some of my purchases were over $5,000 I did briefly check out JM but I wasn't impressed with the prices so I moved on This is an example of how the government is trying to keep us from buying precious metals because it interferes with their Central Bank digital currency aspirations and the Fednow digital currency Dangerous times and all the more reason keep stacking! Thanks for the great information Comment from : sunder62 |
|
I’m in California and every local or out of state coin dealer as well as eBay charges sales tax if a bullion sale is not over 2000 Used to be $1500 but now $2000 This is nothing new and not limited to JM Bullion What really ticks me off is that eBay used to not charge tax on large orders as long as there was bullion mixed with numismatic Now they separate the two so they can tax the numismatic They say it is for my convenience but since when is paying tax AND being forced to check out twice a convenience? Comment from : T Ho |
|
The number one question I ask online bullion dealers is how my order will be taxed In my state it's complex >$1,000 orders, and under 115/140 based on bullion type are not taxedbrbrHad good luck with BE, plan to use them again moving forward Comment from : RoganBits |
|
Thank you JM bullion was listed by USA mint as one of the 1st recommended buyers for current mint coins Now I will look at another SD bullion is my next stop {:O}XC subscribed my new friend Comment from : paul stutz |
