@TheRosebud1876
Do you specify whether you believe it be a higher grade or do you just send it and they will decide crossover, upgrade or neither?
Comment from : @TheRosebud1876

@yttst01
There's no way pcgs is going to upgrade that 1889 O they might even downgrade it
Comment from : @yttst01

@CDubRealTalk
Dip that half dollar That blue toning doesnt have the eye appeal anyways The reverse looks amazing
Comment from : @CDubRealTalk

@beverwyck1
No way that Seated half is artificially toned It just has that mottled look while artificial toning is more even, brighter and just has a certain look to it If that is artificial toning we're all screwed because someone has figured out how to make it just look real, old and uneven
Comment from : @beverwyck1

@TtheSilverStacker
I’m a stacker interested in learning more about coin collecting Thanks for a very educational video!
Comment from : @TtheSilverStacker

@jodyjohnson5289
In order in get a 65 grade, it has to have a full strike & O mints are notorious for flat strikes Don't waste your money re-sending it I've had numerous resents that end in disappointment
Comment from : @jodyjohnson5289

@jackfrost6611
Great vid ben 😊👍
Comment from : @jackfrost6611

@fastfreddie6388
Would like to see more videos like this Thanks for the video 👍
Comment from : @fastfreddie6388

@tom_morgandealer_pgh1648
the 1880 color kinda looks like ether egg toneing or maybe a bad album toneing almost imposable to tell without seeing it in person still worth a ton even in the new holder
Comment from : @tom_morgandealer_pgh1648

@tom_morgandealer_pgh1648
well on the back were it say one dollar its kinda a rough strike or something going on thats probably what cost you the 65 grade thanks for the video
Comment from : @tom_morgandealer_pgh1648

@ad2902
You won't get a 65 It doesn't have the strike
Comment from : @ad2902

@typeviic1
Just dip the Proof half and send it back in
Comment from : @typeviic1

@fifteenbyfive
Especially considering it's an '89-O that's an easy 65 from PCGS Definitely worth cracking out The only way that's a 64 is if it's an '81-S
Comment from : @fifteenbyfive

@singlesideman
I can't believe that you broke the $20 gold Liberty Head out of the PCGS old green holder Those are collectable now And on top of that you got it graded by NGC Why? [sigh] Heartbreaking
Comment from : @singlesideman

@example100000
I was guessing a 66 on the morgan, lovely That blue on the half does look dodgy unfortunately Nice upgrade on the Gold but yea I think would've been better with a good cac OGH
Comment from : @example100000

@barbsbest916
Ben the problem with dipping the proof half is more than likely to expose a cleaned obverse Based on what I can see on the computer image the obverse Is artificially toned Regards, PNG Dealer
Comment from : @barbsbest916

@christophergann5350
MS 63
Comment from : @christophergann5350

@esurfrider7687
Anyone who would artificially tone a rare proof like that has got to be legit crazy Do you think it would get a grade if you sent it into NCS before regrading at PCGS?
Comment from : @esurfrider7687

@coinfisher9263
I guessed 64+ but not a 65 I would leave it as is Good luck
Comment from : @coinfisher9263

@danielbasso586
That's a PQ 64
Comment from : @danielbasso586

@expoboy52
That Morgan is a 65 24/7
Comment from : @expoboy52

@Ontario100
I would say the 1889 O is a 65 all day long, but when you mentioned that the value jumped up a lot from a 64 to a 65, I thought, " they will give him a 64" Value should not enter into grading, but I believe that it does The obverse of the Half Dollar looks ok to me, but, with the reverse looking really natural, they probably figured that someone tried to artificially tone the obverse I honestly don't know, but it is a nice coin Could that coin be conserved? If the obverse looked like the reverse, I believe it would straight grade Congrats on the 76-CC double eagle! Thanks for doing these videos!!

@robertadams9746
Not able to register on the new site
Comment from : @robertadams9746

@robdenton1568
I know two different things you can do with the 1880 proof half Either dip it to remove the tone in which case you might end up with a cameo proof or you can sell it to me for $1,00000 Your call…lol
Comment from : @robdenton1568

@frankchase9297
That 89-O is a 65 all day Highway robbery
Comment from : @frankchase9297

@alfredparsons6811
I think the 89-O should be a 65
Comment from : @alfredparsons6811

@tylonnplatinumthe3rd659
I wouldn’t hesitate to send that 89o in multiple times 4 or 5 times If you need to I guessed Ms66 and it’s a 65 at the minimum brCould you dip the 1880 proof to remove the obverse toning you think?
Comment from : @tylonnplatinumthe3rd659

@flower2289
64 on the 1899 O They just don't seem to let go of the higher grades for some years
Comment from : @flower2289

@donaldinnewmexico
Hi, Ben I guess the 89O Morgan is an MS66 Boo Hoo I missed it by a mile! I definitely think it should at least be 65 The field is excellent NGC hates you The 1880 Seated Half proof looks neat I question the graders Gratz on the 76CC Double Eagle CC gold coins are special and very cool I was glad to have gotten a close look at it in Albuquerque at the coin show What was your overall impression of the Albq show? Was it good enough for you to return in the future? I hope so brbTYU/b
Comment from : @donaldinnewmexico

@flower2289
That blue does look a bit suspect Ben I often wonder though just how good silver refining was at that time The silver ore mined could have had a slightly different composition from mine to mine and that could affect how coins tone Could that blue have come from trace amounts of one of the platinum group metals in the silver?
Comment from : @flower2289

@silvadelshaladin
Yes I would crack the 89-0 Can a questionable color on one side proof coin be conserved? The reverse on that coin is so nice -- If they removed the toning on the obverse Alternatively send it to anacs so it at least gets a grade -- and another roll of the dice
Comment from : @silvadelshaladin

@MasterofNoneArtandDesign
Paused video to guess Looks like my 1900 graded ms63
Comment from : @MasterofNoneArtandDesign

@liammcginity2175
I guessed 64 or 65, I think it should be a 64+
Comment from : @liammcginity2175

@platinumskies7968
That Morgan in 64 is a joke I would have said 66
Comment from : @platinumskies7968

@007xrico
what kind of camera and loupe are you using sir?
Comment from : @007xrico

@DrWhite006
Funny, I believe the 89 O is a 65, but the 76 CC was fair at 40 I find it strange that the proof was missed in the previous grading
Comment from : @DrWhite006

@robertlung2222
Tone the proof 1880 half dollar on the obverse ONLY USE the boiled egg method Ben Take two hard boiled eggs mash them up really good and put them in a bowl with eggs on one side and your coin with the obverse up across from the eggs Must have a bowl with a tight lid for this to work KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON IT CHECK it within 20 minutes and go from there It does work TRUST ME
Comment from : @robertlung2222

@667hodge
Aren't you gambling when you crack out coins?
Comment from : @667hodge

@Santa6968
I guess 64 for the morgan
Comment from : @Santa6968

@stephenwalsh8931
0 ms66

@TheSteveBoyd
I just cracked out my 1st coin A 1926-S MS64 ICG that deserves the grade 100, but people only look at the holders For some reason ICG gets no love, so I have to go through the stress of cracking and waiting FOREVER in order to sell it for what it's worth someday Why is it that my local coin shop treats ICG coins like raw coins, knowing full-well that they win the grading contest at Long Beach every year? (Rhetorical question, it's the Audi vs Volkswagen analogy)
Comment from : @TheSteveBoyd

@TheQuickSilver101
I would have guessed that the 1889 O would be a 65 I think you've got a good shot at a 65 with it That's a nice bump for the $20 gold piece It's a shame about the half dollar, I like the color but I'm not sure that it's natural Thanks for sharing those with us!
Comment from : @TheQuickSilver101

@brocmitchell1708
It pains me to see the OGH $20 lib cracked and successfully upgraded to AU50 because if it could have been a Gold CAC, the value gain would have been much higher!
Comment from : @brocmitchell1708

@ehrenkrause9861
Great looking 1889 o I was really surprised if that would have got below a 64 but it could be a 65 - the light strike knowing it that's how those coins were minted I would love to be able to buy that coin in the NGC holder you decide not to crack it out every time I check your website I always miss the boat when it comes to those hard to get Morgan's
Comment from : @ehrenkrause9861

@michaelt9372
That should have been a 65 maybe 66 I have a 81S thats a 65 and not as nice as that
Comment from : @michaelt9372

@TheSteveBoyd
NAILED IT!!!
Comment from : @TheSteveBoyd

@TheSteveBoyd
I'm gonna say it SHOULD be a 65 (+), but since the price difference is so huge, they only gave you a 64 in order to regulate the market Okay, now I'mma watch the big reveal
