Currently trying to learn French and Italian! Italian since I might be going to Italy next summer as a 21st birthday and French cause I’d rather learn that before I learn Spanish!

girlll i’ve literally been watching you since those treadmill videos in 2020 and our interests have matched up again! i do have some completely unwarranted advice though brbrmaybe you have other goals you didn’t broadcast, but i’d recommend setting goals besides attaining fluency i’ve found that having specific goals really helps, and although there are things some consider as “”proof”” of fluency (knowing 10,000 words, passing a test like JLPT or IELTS etccc) it really is vague maybe you could make a goal to have a conversation with your parents or finish x amount of booksbrbrand i’m not saying this to crush spirits or anything but with a year and a half + the fact you are learning multiple languages i think fluency—if fluency to you is speaking and or understanding your target like you understand english—is next to impossible brbrand also, for me my confidence about how fluent i am changes a lot i also forget just how much work it took to get to where i’m at (reading books w 1-2 lookups per page, almost completely understanding shows with target lang subtitles) brbri’ve been learning japanese (i was in 7th grade i should’ve choose something different help 💀) for around 3 years but thought it had been like 15 recently… i really forgot about how much time i put in, watching like 20 j-dramas over one summer literally not understanding that much! brbrbut yeah, it was very hard to tell where i was at because knowing more makes you aware of what you don’t know brbrand sorry that this has turned into a rant but yeah i’d just advise against fluency as a goal, sorry if this was just something you kinda said and i’ve been giving an essay for no reason 😭 you’re really smart though so i’m happy to see where you will go!

I'm currently learning Spanish and French I'm trying to learn both of those languages because 1)I live in a population where the two primary languages are Spanish and English I'm not Hispanic but I grew up around family that spoke Spanish fluently as a way to communicate with others and exercise their brains I'm honestly upset with myself that I lost the ability to speak as much Spanish as I used to, so I'm making up for lost time 2) I decided to learn French because I do plan on traveling when I'm a bit older and I do want to visit France Lastly, 3) I want to be able to use those two languages to further my learning into other languages I hope eventually I can start learning and speaking Japanese and KoreanbrGood luck with your languages everyone!

1) I’m learning Korean and French Korean because I am korean and it would make it a lot easier to communicate with family French because I’d like to see France and experience that culture br2) I will probably listen to podcasts and watch YouTube videos Practice speaking korean with my family more Hopefully I’ll be able to read books in French and Korean br3) Avoid going all in and burning myself out quickly I think practicing everyday and slowly increasing the amount of time I spend will help me avoid burnoutbr4) I will write out my goals where I can visually see it everyday br5) I will start using a little bit of duolingo and find study materials that will help me to start conversations

Hi! I'm Manonbrbr1 I am learning English (to be able to speak to many people), Spanish (as I love the language and it"s also pretty useful), and Japanese (because I think it is such an interesting language to learn)brbr2 In my daily routine I use 3 apps which are Duolingo (to learn vocabulary), busuu (to learn vocabulary, and grammar and practice my reading, speaking, and listening skills), and wanikani (to learn vocabulary in Japanese with the spaced repetition system) I also watch videos and listen to podcasts and I want to try to practice more by speaking with natives and journaling in my target languagesbrbr3 I will avoid relying on apps only instead of practicing with native peoplebrbr4 I want to study daily and at least 30 minutes per day

Thanks for sharing your advise on language learning, for me learning a language is more of a marathon rather than a sprint, there are periods of time where we'll make more progress, others where we'll just feel stuck with no motivation at all, but we gotta keep going, there is no a magical secret that will make us be fluent, it's up to us to make it realbrBy the way is enlish your native language?

Amei o seu vídeo, fico muito feliz de você estar aprendendo português e espero que você curta muito aprender esse idioma Eu acredito que o maior benefício é que você vai poder ler os nossos memes, tão valiosos e incríveis 💕brbr1- I am learning mainly mandarin, but i am also learning Brazilian sign language and I want to study spanish Mandarin is for the same reason as Annie, to feel more conected with my Taiwanese part, also sign languages because I am going to be a doctor and this would help me care for the people who needs this language and Spanish thinking more in my career, there are a lot of places who speaks spanish In addition, this video motivated me, because if I learn this language I will open a new door so I can visit a lot of countries with confidence Like, I live in a continet surrounded with people who only speaks in spanish br2 - In mandarim I will do my best on the classes I am attending, prepare and follow study strategies for doing the HSK in the end of the year Also, I will add reading in Du chinese and try to find a study partner, that I can call or see in person to talk in chinese About sign languages I will watch classes available on YT and read books made for this language Spanish I will do one of the tips of the vídeo, using duolingo and using a platform my college offers, that is a more self learning website for languagesbr3 - I will avoid being shy and insecure and really find someone that wants to learn with me I will set reminders for me to do just little things in my routine, so I mantain the motivation and dont't forget my dreams Feeling when I am getting overhelmed is really important, because, if it becomes bad for me, if I burnout I will have a hard time to get in touch with all of this againbr4- I will take a notebook and track my study sessions Plus, I will take moments to reflect on what worked and what I have done wellbrbrI wish a good learning journey to everyone <3 A huge hung from Brazilbr💚💛💙

1 I'm learning Spanish, ASL, and Russian Spanish because it's a really important skill to have where I live, and my mom knows some of it, so the language feels really familial to me I'm learning ASL and Russian just because I find them really cool I listen to a lot of Russian music, and have been interested in ASL since I was 10br2 For Spanish, I'm going to talk to my mom and just practice saying things, because I have an okay vocabulary already For ASL, there's this really good college level teacher that I can watch on youtube that I really like For Russian, I am really starting out with the basics, so I'm using Duolingo and Babble, as well as some books from the librarybr3 I feel like there's always a "time" to learn languages, and because I struggle with executive functioning, that "time" often slips by me I need to just practice, on good days that can mean sitting down and learning vocabulary, and on low effort days that could mean just watching a show in a target languagebr4 This is the part that I'm unsure about, it's really hard to keep myself accountable This next month I basically have empty, so I think I'm going to start taking online or in-person language classesbr5 I'm going to look into some classes near where I live (I prefer in-person learning), and if I can't find any, I'll look for online classes that fit my schedule

1) I am learning Spanish, Korean, and Japanese I will be adding Mandarin Chinese back into my routine on August 11th They are all beautiful languages with rich culture, history, art, media, food, etc br2) I am learning with 2x/wk 30min italki lessons per language I listen to podcasts during deadtime (cooking, cleaning, getting ready, showering, driving) I have textbooks, quizlet/anki/clozemaster, language learning apps, websites, reading books, and media to watch I will practice writing and get corrections I will review and practice I will use my textbooks/workbooks or apps I ladder languages to maximize my learning br3) I will avoid overplanning/researching the "best" study methods or resources, I will not use only 1 resource, I will not use too many resources, I will focus on consistency over intensity br4) I will keep myself accountable through italki lessons, my mom, and my partnerbr5) In the next 7 days, I will continue my italki lessons and podcasts, and I will review and add what I've learned to a flashcard/SRS system

Rn I really need to learn Albanian coz that’s my dads language and my dads side of the family’s culture but it’s very hard for me to learn it as I don’t learn it in school , I don’t live with my dad so and I don’t see him often either so I have no other Albanians to learn off of and it’s annoying that I can’t understand my family and can’t talk with them without my dad having to translate so I’m determined to learn fluent Albanian over the summer!!

Amazing video! Many thanks to the author of the channel for the recommendations! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike To really learn something, you have to really practice every day You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot's Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language" This book is always in my bag If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me

The languages I’m learning is Portuguese, Spanish and Arabic Portuguese because as a similar situation like you, I want to be able to communicate with my family better since I’m Portuguese Spanish is to be able to communicate amongst the Spanish community that’s I’m surrounded by at work Arabic well I hope to travel to Dubai or any middle eastern country to speak the language and I’m just in love with the sound Hmn I think the strategy of following YouTubers and social media influencers in my target language to include immersion in my busy life Hmn I initially wanted to solely focus on Portuguese but sometimes I lose motivation or feel lazy but do tend to want to hear another language but would stop myself so since you shared you pretty much flow between your target languages, I guess I shouldn’t feel bad to do the same and just enjoy this process Hmn, I do need to have conversations with Native speakers for sure!

1 I am learning Mandarin because learning Mandarin offers many opportunities for personal growth and I want to be able to communicate in the world's most spoken language I am also improving French because I live in Belgium and French is important here because there are very few people who want to learn Dutchbr2 I will use Duolingo to get the basics of Mandarin and later on I will try to listen to podcasts, YouTube video's etc For French, I will try to speak it more with my family, I will read books and listen more to French musicbr3 I will avoid only focusing on grammar and getting burned out I will avoid wanting to quit and even if I want to I will push throughbr4 I will use Duolingo every day for minimum one lesson to learn Mandarin I will remind myself of my goals and immerse myself in the languagesbr5 I will try to find someone who I can learn these languages with I will find a show to watch in French With Mandarin I will focus on input, with French I will focus on output

1 Russian, french;they r just SUPER hot languages!, But also because I find their culture interesting and want to be able to communicate with more people German:- I am part German and I want to feel more linked with my culture instead of being so whitewashed like the rest of my family brbr2 I haven't been using many strategies because I didn't know how to I only used apps until I watched this video And I'm trying to find different ways to focus on learning these languages so later on I can learn these other languages that I find interesting brbr3 The traps I'm trying to avoid are the ones I put myself into with procrastination and just completely ignoring the stuff I have to do I still have problems with this and quite honestly I can't even keep my room clean I'm trying to find a breakpoint from this cycle brbr4 Keeping myself accountable will be the hardest point but I think if I start to discipline myself and realize that even though sitting around and being lazy might seem like the better option and My body finds it more rewarding I'm going to start forcing myself to find what I'm doing more rewarding and stop being lazy brbr5 I haven't exactly made a schedule for myself yet which is why I'm looking for videos to help with that and another reason I clicked on yours but I need to find out soon because school is going to start back😅

I am language stacking, learning more than 1 language at a time and using the languages to assist with learning the other languages I have 6 languages that I have been working on, well technically 5 I am brushing up on Spanish, however, I am learning Mandarin, German, French, Italian and I am spot learning Korean When I was your age, I wished I took living overseas a little bit, heck a lot bit, more seriously Had I, I would know Italian, French and German and I would be learning Mandarin and Korean he he he brbrMy purpose isn't that great I love languages and I love learning about cultures So why not Why not achieve something that most people don't - being a polyglot Someday I will return to Europe My mother keeps bugging to visit her down in Mexico And if I ever get to Canada and Hawaii French, Chinese and Korean will come in handy But, in all honesty, I am doing it because I can Some people are history buffs I am a language buff

I’m learning French because I already have done like 7 years of it in school, so I’m nearly there! I’m learning Spanish because my family travel to Spain every year, and also because I’m European and knowing multiple languages is extremely helpful I’m learning Irish because it is my native language and I feel like it deserves to be recognised, and I’m just starting Russian because I just like the black widow character honestly😭

1) I'm learning danish because I love the language and because I want to move to Denmark when I'm an adult I also want to start teaching myself french for school and because it's a really cool language but it's not my main focus at the moment br2) I have started out with Duolingo but I will start reading texts and articles in danish ( I'm swedish so I have an advantage here since the languages have similarities ), watch some series and movies, try to find someone who speaks danish, listen to podcasts and try to find youtubers that speak mainly danishbr3) Losing interest in the process and focusing to much on grammar br4) If I find a danish friend, I will try to get them to keep me accountable and I have scheduled time in my day for language learning br5) I will serch up the most popular and used dansih words and try to learn the spelling and pronounciations

What is a good was to learn a Language that has very different grammar than your own language and that has a vocabulary where there are no shared words? Going from one European language to another European language is easier than going from, say, French to Navaho or IntuitbrAnd what if you would help to preserve an indigenous language?

1- I’m learning Japanese to be able to speak and have casual convs with Japanese speakers and be able to watch the shows I love to watch in japanese I’ve been wanting to learn a language and this is the one I want to start with not end withbr2- The strategy im using is building a sable foundation for Japanese by practicing the alphabet’s by writing/memorizing katakana(カタカナ) and hiragana(ひらがな) And while I keep writing thm to memorize I’m going to start on learning vocabulary to start understanding more while heading in the direction of understanding more while listening or reading but by starting to form sentences and learning grammar here and therebr3- While I learn Japanese it’s it own language so as I improve I can start reading definitions in my target language to use more words they use naturally and I and flow and speak betterbr4-I am dedicating time everyday to practice the characters of Japanese and by practicing on my vocabularybr5- I will start going in on vocabulary that is commonly use and use them by seeing them on n person and say they in Japanese in my head and out loud and by writing thm down

1) I'm learning te reo Māori so I can connect with my culture and my ancestorsbr2) actually try understand what we're saying in Kapa Haka instead of blindly repeating it, and listen to Māori musicbr3) I need to stop focusing on grammar so much At this point I know all the language structures I'll ever need, I just have like bNO/b vocabbr4) I'll check in with my brother so we both keep on learning, and I'll make sure I'm interacting with at least one Māori source (books, music) every day

I love that you started learning Spanish and Portugueuse in particular because of your faith community! I honestly learn languages because I like how they sound but I'm practicing my Spanish with Spanish worship songs and sermons, and I only want to learn lingala (congolese language) because I wanna understand their worship songs and the jokes my church friends make in that language lol😂😁

1 Arabic because many of my friends are Arab and speak Arabic, plus my uncle and grandma both speak Arabic and I would love to be able to talk to my family and friends parents without a big language barrier; Yoruba because it’s my native language and many of my extended relative speak it as their only language and though I fully understand my first speaking language was English and so I can barely speak it; Spanish because I recently went on a trip to Mexico with my family and could not really enjoy outside of the hotel vicinity because we couldn’t understand or speak Spanish so I made a promise to my parents that I would learn Spanish before our next trip back brbr2 Listening to podcast, music, watching YouTube or shows in the target language and speaking to the native speakers around me brbr3 Arabic - not picking a dialect and learning it but also not learning some vocabulary in other dialects brYoruba - not asking for corrections and not learning how to write or read the language brSpanish - only learning grammar skills but not learning how to implement them immediately in conversational speech brbr4 By communicating (either speaking, texting or sending voice messages) to native speakers but also learning with a friend brbr5 I will create a plan or schedule for the next few weeks to keep myself accountable and organized, get a notebook or writing system, implement my immersion systems and try to talk and read out loud in the target languages

1) Mexico Spanish My husbands family speaks it primarily and I want to raise our kids to speak it as well Also I've always wanted to learn another language and (from experience) I've found there are always situations where you can help translate for someonebr2) I turned my phone settings to Spanish and the location to Mexico, I read quotes in Spanish on Pinterest and do my best to translate, and I will push myself more to speak to mi familia en espanolbr3) Getting scared of sounding dumbbr4) Remembering the fact that I'm never going to complete my goal if I keep getting scaredbr5) Mainly just begin to speak it out loud
