I'm thinking some scammers must also have access to at least a primitive level of computer hacking capability! Many of the "sold" EBAY listings now partially show up when you click to "see the original listing" but almost entirely all of them are sold by a ZERO-FEEDBACK seller and purchased by a "Not A Registered User" marked buyer EBAY requires every user to register before they can buy or sell so how on earth are they manipulating EBAY policy? They even show that the item had "one bid" but the details show zero bids! brHuh?? Comment from : rohan oaks |

Beware of dealers with little or no history and no return policy Lots of scammers on ebay and etsy Worthless coins with huge fake values, 1955 lincoln pennies for one, 1922 no mint mark Counterfeit and just plain common stuff worth a few cents marked as rare Comment from : Jim Comstock |
Thank you very much for this video I almost bought some coins from Ebay Comment from : Angelita Punzalan |
Thanks for the video that is a new one As someone who buys a lot on eBay I have some criteria I go buy before I purchase How long has the seller been selling, his feedback-rating and the number items sold and how many items they have listed I know that’s no guarantee but it usually identifies serious honest sellers Comment from : Danny G |
Thanks again Daniel 😁👍✔️ Comment from : Leo Sulger |

They create the ILLUSION of demand and value by selling/buying it themselves to create the "sold for" "value"kind of craftybut smart people should NOT fall for it I've wondered if some of the BIG TV dealers have done THIS VERY THING FOR YEARS when they show what coins "sell for" on Ebay !?!?! Ebay REALLY NEEDS to crack down on thisI'm sure there IS A WAY they could tell if it's the same buyer/seller !! Comment from : Eternally Thankful 3771 |
Not to mention all the fake ancient coins Good as always Comment from : Gumardee coins and banknotes |

I have been on Ebay for about 15 years I only have around 600 positive reviews 100 percent That is for both buying and selling I only buy from people of at least 100 reviews or more Unless its a really good price But I still do research Comment from : eatersofdead |
They are exposed now!brWell done Comment from : Timothy Dean |
I came across some Van Allen Mallis Morgan's once at a coin show They had some minor defects like a slight double dye on the date, but they weren't priced much higher than other Morgan's of the same grade About ten percent higher Maybe the seller was having trouble selling them, so he lowered the price` Comment from : jhall2691 |
I believe that sometimes people sell no value items on eBay as a way to launder money when they are selling an illegal item in person I think that they have their customers buy an item like a coin or card from them on eBay for an inflated price to cover what they are selling That way it will appear that they are making their money as a legitimate coin dealer Comment from : Will B |
It’s a shame that people are so crooked!!! brI haven’t listed on eBay yet because I want to make sure when I do that all information is legit Comment from : Janice burge |

Daniel, you tell us to do one thing before purchasing coins Do your homework first I have never lived by that before Until I got burned Now, it is the 1st thing I do You just can't go into the deal all willy nilly and hoping for the best Hoping that the person has the best intention for you They don't Quick money is mostly what they are there for There are a small few people on Ebay that I trust They are all reputable coin dealers I'm sorry to say but I don't trust just anyone I see a coin that I need for my type set I do my best homework well before I even look at anything Great video as always Comment from : Edward Austin |
Put US coins in the eBay search bar and scroll through Over 50 of the auctions are these garbage coins listed at ridiculous prices It's gotten progressively worse over the last year Comment from : Taylorism |
I've seen people manipulating the feedback system alot this last year They will start a profile and sell and bunch of dollar items, which are mysteriously bought by profiles with no feedback! Once they get 30-50 positive feedback they will throw up a bunch of expensive items that are underpriced They sell quickly, they enter bogus shipping info, and they take the money and run Comment from : Taylorism |
Thank you so much for sharing this information with us I'm shocked 😲 Comment from : Stephanie |

Just another scam from dishonest people, who don’t have anything better to be doing with there life’s Making it harder for honest people that have time invested in the Hobby I have no use for people that don’t have anything to contribute to the world or any effort for that matter Thanks for taking the time to bring this to our attention Comment from : Troy Walsberg |
Thats why i will NOT buy coins off eBay to many scammers on there for me Comment from : Jimmy H |
The first thing i look at on ebay is the seller rating Less than 100 sales, i do not even give them a go Comment from : rAging Gamer |
Darlingyou already know how ebay, paypal system works 12 is their charge on all sales pertaining to coins On that 1,000 sale, ebay would have charged $120 profit off that sale and taken it straight from the sale of that coin It costs literally $157 to sell a 99 coin, and that's not including the cut they get if you charge standard shipping of $340-$480 Whoever sold that coin for 1k, either paid ebay $12000, or defaulted that entire account, which would cost their account with them, which is tied to their ip address They wouldn't be able to open another account with same ip address, until the $12000 is collected js You say that their are loads of people doing this scam THing isWhy ruin entire account, ruin ip address for making an account, only to list a coin and pretend it sold, and NOT get any money at all, but end up owing money to ebay for nothing hummm Comment from : Witness For Yeshua Mashiach |

I think that a lot of the error pages Dan is getting is from the seller's accounts being nuked by eBay for scamming via shill bidding, but the sold results are lagging in being removed eBay does try to watch for these guys, but it's a constant game of whack-a-mole There are always going to be scams on any site similar, but some are worse than others (looking at you, Etsy!) This hobby is ALL based around knowledge, which Dan does a great job of imparting to us Thank you, Dan! Comment from : ross lundberg |
Ebay needs to police their sellers HA HA They won't They make to much money on their fees just like Facebook Unless there is a concentrated effort by the buyers Excuse my French it's like pissing in the wind Know your facts folks If you put a parking lot coin on ebay and it sells for much money Your money is gone RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH My rant God Bless Us Everyone Comment from : SOUP |
Thanks for the information Daniel !! God Bless !! Comment from : IM CIR GOLD |

Bicentennial quarter "filled D" errors are a thorn in my side on eBay I do collect Bicentennial quarter errors and I wish there was a way to avoid those listing I'd say 90 of the listings are those in particular Comment from : Angry Boomer |
wow thats something i never even thought about and i check sold listings often for ideas on what something may have sold for thats just unbelievable i value everything you educate us on daneil thank you for this video Comment from : Dizzy Giraffes Hobbies! |
You're right: a lot of those "sold" items aren't really paid for and are quickly relisted This occurs a lot with slabbed error coins Maybe it's a scam or maybe the winning bidder didn't pay, but a quick relisting is suspicious I think on eBay, the buyer is given up to four days to pay for the item Comment from : jeffw1267 |

I sit back and in utter shock seeing these coins being sold on EBAY and other sites hoping to dupe people into spending their money on worthless (REAR) coins This type of misleading way of selling hurts the Coin Hobby and people who are selling legit coins What you get in the mail is just as bad with misleading advertising Comment from : DALE STONER |
PS Daniel, I am sticking with you, and my two LCS's, cause greed rules, and Ebay has become one of it's pipelines!!😱😱😱 Comment from : George Matthews |
