Finding your niche is absolutely key! Many hobbyists will do all genres but not specialise I believe this to be as much a hurdle as the worry of not making a success/living

All your videos are so motivating and inspiring Sarah I particularly would agree with the fear factor in starting a career in photography For 40 years I've given to the military and corporate US and now at 58 have decided that I am going to take the leap and do something with my photography For the past couple of years I kept telling myself that I was to late in the game, but have been convinced that it's not I would be curious to know on average with your subscriber/view numbers what you make on average monthly on Youtube I don't enjoy weddings as they are too stressful, so I don't do those My primary focus is landscape and possibly future Youtube and workshops Any help or recommendations not discussed on your videos would be most appreciated

good on you Sarah I know how hard you work behind the scenes so you deserve to do well from it it also courageous to talk about your business openly like that, I'd never do that Covid has floored my business but because we love it, we'll just keep chipping away Many people do not realise just how much work goes into a small photography business, I work 7 days a week in my business & have done it for years

Good luck with your photography business I love the shots of you in the water I decided a long time ago to just do photography as a hobby which I love even after all these years I'm sure many aspiring photographers will be interested in the business side of things

Sarah, I wish you all the best going full time I will live vicariously thru your journey being that I am turning 59 next month and even though I've been shooting for myself and sometimes freelancing since I was 16, I have never made the leap to make it a career for reasons of having no clue to the business side of photography and how to balance that part without effecting creation and drivebrThanks for this info, maybe it's not too late to make some side income with photography ;)

Hi Sarah, I have dabbled in photography for many years now and just adopted to digital in 2019, but have run my own business (another industry) The ups and downs are real, but hard work and doing what you love are the best way to live life I wish you all the success in the world I know you have been grinding and working really hard for a long time I really enjoy your photos and YT channel!
