very informative my disability ruined my childhood and was i was diagnosed at ten and school was a struggle from there academically emotionally i was advised to repeat the 5th grade never did didn’t see want the embarrassment i went to lab school since nursey school no disability assistance My parents tried with tutoring and transferred me to different schools I felt totally disconnected leaving the only school and friendships I only hadtraumatized bullied and challenging to make and keep friends i felt so separate and isolated by high school transfered to a boarding school for learning disabled This whole experience has changed my life and regret it My Diagnosis had Giving me a label that my family identifies me now All the opportunities I ever had have been limited because I have been labeled brbrI wish this on no one’s life Comment from : MVP

I have schizoaffective disorder with a learning disability I got my associates degree and worked for 42 years I am now much worse But, at least I was allowed to do things to my best ability I am unable to follow directions and memorize But, I live on my own It has gotten bad enough that I am unable to compensate in order to work on computers At least I was able to work at the time I am lucky I got as far as I did Because, in school I was called slow and lazy I was only doing 4th grade math and 6th grade reading in 9th grade When I was in elementary school I was bullied over my learning disabilities, lack of coordination and being overweight I have had schizoaffective disorder my whole life and the bullying made me crazy I had gone in to the psychiatric ward of the hospital because I was cutting myself I developed a severe eating disorder and went to the hospital because of it Getting to skinny or overweight, exercising in excess My health is suffering I am at risk of fractures and my blood pressure fall so that I can pass out Because of severe anxiety I have suffered heart problems and have been hospitalized with chest pain a lot Some disabilities are silent and unnoticeable on the outside Except for the anxiety Comment from : Cindy Eisenberg

Don't be fooled onto thinking that all LD people are nice, I once woke to a man masturbating on my clothes and the staff told the police "He doesn't want to press charges!" I have been assaulted by LD restrained when I retaliate to their nasty deeds and bullied by them because they don't understand the words I use LD homes are places of abuse and are unprofessional in my opinion If I could go back I would NEVER get expelled from mainstream school My life until the last few years has been very difficult and stressful, I will NEVE go back into a care home! In people with disabilities we find our humanity, we learn from our nature not to cast aside but to luv people as this is what they show us, they are lights to the world we must lift them up as they shine in our own darkness, our own fears they are the ones who teach us not the other way round Thank you!!
