Flat rate cost me a transfer case on my Chevy pickup At 110k miles it was recommended by the "book" to replace fluids throughout That included the differential and transfer case The Diesel mechanic rushed He did not refill the transfer case fluid 300 miles later I was stranded on the side of the road in an ironically named town of Accident, Maryland

I have worked 39 years, and been paid 3 different waysbr1 brPiecework, my output was 25x the average, so l took home 25x the wagesbr2br Hour rate ( working in a team), again the metrics proved, l worked 15x the slowest team member, but got paid the same, and picked up their slackbr3br Hourly rate+ tips, l worked my hours, and received a share of the customers tips ( that were declared) I learned that the waitresses used to slip handed tips ( usually the largest, into their own pockets), what l infact received was the table service charge on the bill, at the end So taking away the self tippingbrI am glad l do not work anymore, as soon as people get involved, l always lost, and that was for 21 of those 39 years

LolJesus' car I like this video series Because it's giving me insight as to what goes on in the shop That's a rough way to get paid (flat rate), but also explains the labor rates here in the east ($$$$$) Stay safe and well, everyone!
