PCGS cleans coins - people don't bat an eye, call it restoration, and say it only improves the valuebrPerson in the profession for 20+ years cleans the coin without removing the original luster - people lose their god damn mind and cant shut up about " oh it's for sure damaged and worthless " you know, because 'they have 3 months of cointok on tictok and are not professionals ::eye roll:

"I've experimented with coins and I have my share of damaged coins and I did it on purpose and a lot of it I did just to see what would happen"brbrPREACH! My man, you are speaking my language! I spent the better part of 10 years experimenting with proper restoration of silver and copper coins brbrUtilizing electrolysis, from the proper acid to use in what concentration to current strength, 10 years I've been perfecting my technique My vision was simple, "To place back into the coin what time has taken out" brbrI DESTROYED many a coin to get where I am today however, my collection now, 10 years later after perfecting my method, is absolutely stunning and I couldn't care any less about the purist ideology that using something so simple as acetone is cleaning and ruining a coinbrbrNow that the addiction to shiny things has gained so much support, the hobby is so much safer and foolproof than it's ever been And I can say without a doubt, E-Z-est made the hobby of restoration MUCH easierbrbrLove the way you think, my man! Thanks for the content!
Comment from : PogChamp

How come some say cleaning a coin reduces the value? I saw one video saying don’t clean coins and stay away from ezest, and your channel says you can clean them if done properly Who do I believe?

THG Driver
The only thing I would do different is I would have place a folded terry towel down in the sink That way, if I drop it, and we all drop coins, it would not be damaged by the hard porcelain sink😀😀
Comment from : THG Driver

Hmm Interesting
Should and can a proof silver coin be somehow “ restored “ to get rid of some undesirable toning without damaging it at home ? Or is it just recommended to submit it for restoration by a professional
Comment from : Hmm Interesting

Harry Surtees
Daniel, I do a lot of metal detecting and so many of the coins I dig have been in the ground for hundreds of years Most soil is not kind to coins, and most coins (silver) I dig are not rare To me, the silver dimes, quarters, half dollars, and even silver dollars (I've dug 5 silver dollars) are ugly, well are tarnished and what they call, junk silver So, what harm is there, if I put them in a tumbler for an hour or so, and bring them back to reasonable-looking, cleaned coins?brThank you in advance for your opinion
Comment from : Harry Surtees

Potato_Ohle
I know you said this is really for coins that would grade MS, but what about coins that are maybe a G-VG or F-VF? I have a few coins that I'd like to get the PVC off of, and I try to clean off all my junk silver with acetone before adding it to the pile Would you still recommend this for lower grade inexpensive coins that you're just trying to keep from getting worse, or from infecting the rest of the stack?
Comment from : Potato_Ohle

Texas Pirate
Really wish you had shown us what the coin looked like before / After so we could see the PVC on the coin Did I miss that?

Oh one thing I ment to ask in my first message instead of a life rant What is the Ingredients in E-Zest, ? Is it like tooth paste with no harsh stuff ? Its only bc we dont have EZest in Australia, maybe we do, i not see it, but sure we have same with different nameor similar? brI used toothpaste, smelt nice peppermint tohaha
Comment from : Andrew Marshall

Andrew Marshall
What you say makes total sense I have found old coins in my deceased families belongings from my Great & Grandparents & they clearly old, most were not worth much, a couple had some value, like the most approx $250 AUD, I didnt clean them with castic soda & steel wool, I did go a bit heavy on some old coins ( luckily not alot of value ) before I knew how to properly cleanBut I want to at least see the coins features & date, markings etcsome old coins were just black with gunk over them Sure I think spot less clean looks stupid on old coins, it takes away the character of its life & where that coin has been & what it was purchased from it, I get this, but I do want to enjoy its markings while preserve it fromthis point in time, Me giving it a little clean will also be part of its life in the future, until it becomes dust or nothingness at one point in timebrMessage to long, sorry, Just saying I agreethanks for the tips
Comment from : Andrew Marshall

William Walker
Thanks
