I sold cars for a living from 2002 until about 2007 at two dealerships, what it is being mentioned in this video is largely correct Where I worked you got a $1200 draw, and typically got 25 of the gross on the cars you sold Some cars (new and used) had spiffs that could net you another $400-$1500 if you were able to sell the particular car Mini's or "flats" got you $100 There was also a bonus for "Tall Paul" or the biggest/most profitable deal of the month Money was decent for the time, I made anywhere from just under $60k a year for my first year to $140k for my best year However it's a cut-throat business, sales people will screw over other sales people all the time, there's no job stability, your earnings vary greatly from month to month, and you're probably going be there upwards of 70 hours a week It was a very educational experience for me, and I have zero desire to do it again Comment from : Forrest Hodge |
