I'd recommend THIS ( amznto/3AI21t7 ) game INSTEAD of 漢検トレーニング2 for Kanji now I didn't have it when I filmed this video, but it's DEFINITELY better

Apparently the Tango N5 is also translated into Chinese Wouldn't that be confusing? Maybe distracting? Otherwise it sounds amazing! I would be interested in learning your realistic goals for learning Japanese For example, how long will it take to learn Hiragana and Katakana Thanks!!

i just had my 3 year anniversary of studying, and while I feel like I'm doing well it feels like every body in the comments here got to my level in 1 year lmao For context I can read stuff like yotsuba& pretty easily or watch Card Captor Sakura with JP subs, but if I try to listen to a vtuber or youtuber, i can pick up most of the words but not really make any meaning out of them brbrhaven't done any testing but I think I could likely pass n3 at this point anyways I don't have any greater point wish i was faster, but will keep going i'm having fun and I'm in it for the long game if there's one thing that I could point to, it's not doing enough input everyday you really can't make up for reading/listening with just vocab review

Awesome tips!!! Another resource I'd highly recommend is HelloTalk This a great app to use to speak with natives Since I don't live in Japan nor know anyone who's Japanese, this has been the most useful tool in terms of exposure to natural Japanese Natives can correct sentences on your posts, and you'll get the gist of how natural Japanese sounds/is written It puts your language skills to use and because of that, it encourages you to continue Only downside is that anyone can correct you, and not everyone may know the correct grammar usage, etc But it's still worth it! It feels like you're passively learning the language while giving that sense of "skipping" to conversational level This sounds like an ad but I just really love this app It's been more helpful to me than other methods I've used, so I wanted to put that out there!

I bought the Tango N5 book very early on too it was amazingbrI studied pretty hard for a year or so, but the past 25 years my Japanese has been on a slower burn I just read manga for 30 minutes or more a day, I watch a lot of shows with JP subs, and I text/talk daily to my GF though we do speak English 60-70 of the time, while more the opposite for texting (my comprehension is leagues above my speaking) I'm finally taking a JLPT test this December though, so I bought the N4 and N3 単語 books, as well as some practice exams, and finally finishing Genki 2's grammar, and I'm going to get into the Intermediate Genki book soon as well brThe only thing I feel like I did right with Japanese is spend 10 years when I wasn't learning it, just immersing in the language, so when I did study, it unlocked that subconscious knowledge I think Immersion is very underrated as a learning tool

Renshuu is a great app for learning hiragana and katakana at the same time It starts off with both "schedules" at the same time, which let you learn them both with spaced repetition every day That's how I learned them a year ago, can definitely recommend I continued using renshuu for my learning, but yall dont need to, the hiragana and katakana part might be good enough for you

“Remembering the kanji” is TRASH! don’t waste time on it, not a second You spend months on it and in the end you don’t know one single pronunciation nor word with those kanjis, and just one of the many meanings for each TRASH! Spend the same time on wanikani and you’ll learn hundreds of kanjis with their readings, plus hundreds or words To date, the best way to learn kanji and vocabulary

Good video! Many thanks to the author of the channel for the recommendations! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike To really learn something, you have to really practice every day You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot's Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language" This book is always in my bag If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me

What if I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on books and other resources? I have a couple coworkers who are from japan who have offered to help me a bit, so that's great Though it's a bit intimidating as someone who knows only little random blurbs from anime I've watched from my childhoodbrI don't really have too much interest in writing, I'd rather just be able to read and speak for when/if I ever am able to go to Japan I have no plans of living or immersing in the culture to the fullest

Mustard the first
It might seem like you need to pay for all this manga, anime, and light novel material, but you can get them all through torrents just search up a tutorial on YouTube on what torrenting is Its free but there is a chance of viruses so use at your own risk, its also kind of illegal, so…

This is a great video! Thank you so much! I have a question I want to learn Japanese by myself using English English is my second language though, which I've been learning for 7 years My mother tongue is Spanish The thing is that I haven't found great videos like yours or textbooks like Genki or Tango for a Spanish speaker So, Should I learn Japanese with English as a second language? If I do, Would that have a negative effect in my learning process? Or should I endeavour to find more info in my original language? Idk, sorry if the question is tricky to understand or a bit silly Hope you're having a great day! Thank for using you valuable time to make these amazing videos!

hey there, I totally feel you! If I could start over, here's how I would approach learning Japanese:brbr1 Immerse Myself: I'd surround myself with Japanese as much as possible Watch anime, listen to J-pop, and find Japanese TV shows and movies to enjoy Immerse yourself in the language and culture from the beginning!brbr2 Master Hiragana and Katakana: I'd prioritize learning the two Japanese phonetic scripts, hiragana and katakana, right from the start They form the foundation of reading and writing in Japanesebrbr3 Conversational Focus: Instead of solely relying on textbooks, I'd put a strong emphasis on practicing conversations with native speakers Finding language exchange partners or joining language meetup groups would be a great way to practice speaking and listening skillsbrbr4 Kanji Study Strategy: To tackle the daunting world of kanji characters, I'd create a structured study plan Starting with commonly used kanji and gradually building up my knowledge would be key Remember, practice and repetition are crucial!brbr5 Language Learning Apps: I'd utilize language learning apps like Teuida to supplement my studies Such apps offer interactive exercises, vocabulary practice, and pronunciation feedback, making learning more engaging and effectivebrbr6 Cultural Appreciation: Understanding Japanese culture goes hand in hand with learning the language I'd explore traditions, customs, and etiquette to gain a deeper appreciation and context for the languagebrbr7 Consistency and Patience: Learning any language takes time and dedication I'd remind myself to be consistent, practice regularly, and be patient with the learning process Celebrate small victories and enjoy the journey!brbrSo, if you're starting your Japanese learning journey, consider these tips and make the most of your experience! Ganbatte! 🌸🇯🇵

Tips to learn Japanese more efficiently:brbr- Do NOT attempt to learn more than one language at once If in doubt, learn the one that you're most interested inbr- Repeat every letter/word/sentence out loud to get a closer pronunciation (tip from Teuida)br- Avoid trying to learn everything at one sitting to prevent yourself from forgetting wordsbr- Try to memorize kana/kanji stroke order for more efficient writingbr- If you feel unmotivated and/or tired, take a break and proceed your learning after a while and remember: you can do it! br- Watch anime and practice singing in Japanese They will help you to increase your vocabularybr- Try not to skip the difficult parts of learning They may be essentialbr- Get yourself a partner conversation or use Teuida!br- Use your Japanese knowledge in daily occasions (Example: whenever you're going upstairs, count every step in Japanese)br- After finishing your studying session, write out everything you have learned so far, physically (pencil and paper) or virtually (note pad app on phone/computer)br- Keep watching this video as many times as possible for days or weeks It is not possible to learn everything in a few momentsbrNow, I wish you, the reader, a very happy learning, do not give up and give it your all! がんばってください! 💪✌️

As a begginer learner, i’m in my 8th month of learning japanese and I still don’t even feel confident enough to do the JLPT N5 test yet As I see other people on the internet saying “I passed N1 in just 6 months!” Really makes me feel like I’m just not made for it, and yes, from time to time I do get toughts of wanting to quit, but that’s completely normal! I know that a lot of people learning japanese might feel the same, and I just want to tell you that you’re not alone!

thank you so much for this, I took to studying Hiragana last week, just so I can play blue protocol which is region locked in Japan until next year the guides on youtube helped me understand some of the characters to where I can make out full sentences without having to look up a dictionary or photo translator but I am glad you reccomended the tofugu book, as I feel I would be able to understand it

Haraldo Dunkirk
Interesting topic I’m a Japanese lifer- spent first 2 years only focused on oral/romaji grammar books and hiragana Pretty orally fluent in first year, but was scared/lazy wrt to katakana and kanji Eventually bit bullet and did kanji, passing 2kyu JLPT after 4 years Now almost 20 years later (years living in Japan, 100 speaking Japanese with family, reading novels etc), I’m finally trying to learn keigo and all the kanji needed for Kanken2… Maybe N1 one day- but it’s a pain
Comment from : Haraldo Dunkirk

When I started learning I took a course at school that went through the first Genki textbook without teaching any kanji at all I picked up Japanese learning again recently after 5 years and while I'm working through Genki II it feels super rough that I never learned any kanji so now I'm super motivated to cover that blind spot

I think Heisig isn't the best kanji learning path It emphasises easy to understand kanji over most used kanji and in the long run, students need to learn kanji that matches their vocabulary Learning vocab and Kanji together is the best course

Duo Lingo has a separate section dedicated to Hiragana and Katakana They are separate, but it's a great place to build up your skills for free Also, animal crossing for either the Nintendo Switch has the option to play in Japanese if you go to system settings So that's a great way to practice, because the animals often use the same words over and over again Although, I'm not sure about New Horizons/ Leaf (haven't tried it yet), but Animal Crossing: Wild World gives you the option to use kanji or kana, depending on whether you want to practice your kanji memorization or your vocabulary

I got the Tango N5 and, while the layout and design is aesthetically pleasing, I find it quite unusable They've chosen really small cursive fonts, making the furigana frustratingly tiny, and there's lots of red text on pink background, making it even harder to read I speak and read several languages, including traditional Chinese, and already know the forms of most of the kanji in this book, but the size and colour of the printing make it incredibly frustrating and ultimately unusable for me If you buy this book, I'd recommend getting a Fresnel lens to help you out
