In India you need to win a medal in Olympics, thats enough The state from which the olympian originated from, will pay him 120,000usd (approx), 5-6 companies will pay him nearly 500000usd, central government will pay him another 300,000-500,000usd Car manufacturer M&M will gift them car worth 40,000usd and so on Thats for silver or bronze medal If they win a gold medal, they can easily earn 15-2mil usd (overall) They would also be given a central government job or if they were already in a job, they would promoted by 2 ranks

This is all really obviousalso don't misunderstand when they say they don't get payed unless they medal Most competitive sports like racing will have some sort of payout if you podium but of course 1st is best and will net you the biggest ROI If you are a promising athelete climbing the ranks you can potentially get a sponsor early, and of course if you have a big social media following that can be a BIG factor in whether a company picks you up
