How many hours can I work legally for a family business while collecting SSDI? Assuming my spouse owns the company and will be making accommodations to increase my productivity, could I be added onto the company payroll as a salary employee without issues? Social security asks for a set amount of hours worked per pay period and in my case I’ll be paid a salary regardless of hours worked to simplify things I’ll be earning 1k per month Comment from : Tom |

I am almost 50 worked all my life as a dental nurse which is very hard on your body, except the last 7 years of my life as I got married and thankfully didnt have to be worried as much about finances However all my meds are becoming a finacial strain and I hate not having my own independence I applied for disability maybe 3 or 4 years ago at the advice of my Dr friend as I have major connective tissue disorder EDS/chronic pain all over, end stage DDD, fibromyalgia and chronic migraine They finally got in touch with me and I went to the medical dr a few days ago as SSDI wanted this DR to meet with me in person I am american and used to make 60-80k a year but now live in London I hate the label disabled but theres no way in hell I can ever go back to working a 40 hr a week job due to my issues espacially EDS I have had surgeries on both shoulders as they tore at the labrums and one rotator cuff tear and both hips due to wear on the labrums as I was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia from my EDS I need a double hip replacement but am scared and figure I will wait until I cant walk anymore to get one I can break quite easily with my hypermobility disorder, I feel this is such a curse! I am also only 100lbs due to I now also have pancreatic insufficiency due to fat malabsorption from long term gut health issues that have also left me with mast cell I have recently found a place that would hire me for adhoc work in a dental oiffice in the reception area which means I can sit but even sitting all day is an issue but thankfully I can get up and move around as they are aware of my issues I can work whatever hours suits me and them which is great I dont understand how anyone can survive on what SSDI pays you and I am really hoping that I can work a few days a week without them saying I am not disabled I have read thius entire thread and see you are able to work as long as you dont make more than $1300 a mo, is this correct? And can anyone offer me anymore advice please? I am confused BC the lawfirm above mention that Hours are usually only counted against disability eligibility if the person in question is either self-employed or is the head of a corporation, LLC, or other business
brGenerally, self-employed individuals may currently work up to 45 hours per month (about 10 hours per week) and still be eligible for disability benefits -- DOES THIS MEAN IF WE DONT OWN A BUSINESS OR ARE SELF EMPLOYED WE CANT WORK? THIS IS CONFUSING brbrThank you kindly Comment from : Doreen DeVore |

I have a question I'm on disability and I've used all my 9 months of the trial work period I'm now entering into the 36 month extended benefits period So, when I submit my Paystubs, which are biweekly, how can I be sure they're going to calculate and separate the months that overlap? For example, let's say I submit 2 pay stubs for June, one is for pay period 05/15 - 05/28 (received 06/10) and another stub is for 05/29 - 06/11 (received 06/24) A portion of the check received on 06/10 is payment for the second half of May Are they to be counted upon to accurately calculate those overlapping May/June earnings and keep the earnings properly separated for each "earnings month" when deciding if I've stayed below the $1,350 SGA limit?brThanks! Here's what you do When the government comes to you asking for property taxes, you tell them they'll have to come before you as a judge and justify why they need the money, and why they can't work themselves to get it Advise them you recommend they get a lawyer There is no jury you'll decide if they get your money or not based on them proving an overriding need to you brbrThat enormous military and black ops budget?
