Comment from : Stephen Phillips

Rosso Nero
Wow, #5 in the UK I remember taping Summertime Blues off of the local (San Francisco) underground music show Knowing I'd never find it at Tower records, I had to walk past the 6th Street winos to get to the closest Rough Trade
Comment from : Rosso Nero

E jenima
I have watched other interviews with the group and all these years later you can tell there is still some hard feelings amoung the former members for a few reasons A Good version of the song thow I think it relays the coldness and materialism of the subject of the song The beatles vershion and lennon allmost make it to warm and rosy with there singing style masking the very ichy and materialistic/gold digging subject matter of the song itself The flying lizzards style for this song as they said drained it of its warmth and gave a straightforward approch that is both catchy and uncomfortable all at once
Comment from : E jenima

Stephen Mac Connoran
Still a great groovy version of Money

**
A song about just wanting money Seemingly being done without much effort, with no real instuments andnot actually being sing While having a good beat just makes it much better than the original brAt least for me, who lived with people who struggled to pay for things, this cover just hits harder
Comment from : **

Maria Russell

Comment from : Maria Russell

crazy burkey
Kinda like the Johnny Cash talking blues tunes First time I heard this song was back in maybe 1984, we had a few radio stations that played off the wall stuff Long live stations where you get The Flying Lizards, followed by QUEEN,David Bowie, Black Sabbath, and Steven Miller Band📻🐿🙂
Comment from : crazy burkey

caribstu
A couple of people who made a shit load from by their own admission, very little talent, refreshingly, don't take themselves too seriously They're still raking in the royalties, and I still got my original 7inch single in it's Warhole-esque sleeve
Comment from : caribstu

Red Jones
Quite a unique rendition After she says "that's what I want" I often thought the next sound was like that of an elephant

As much a novelty song as Joe Dolce Is funny watching them try and tart it up as being something more
Comment from : Martin Ersatz

Greig Clement
This kind of snuck in with new wave pop? I f don't know if '79 was too early for new wave but I feel that music was changing fast enough in the late 70s that this version of Money had a vapid mechanical feel to it as bands with mechanised synths were kicking off
Comment from : Greig Clement

ByGraceIGo
I have always liked the Flying Lizards version of money It also brings back memories of when I was 18 years old when this hit came out Originally written by Berry Gordy and Janie Bradford
