I don't usually like coins and prefer bars Coins roll and might go down a hole or crevice when handling I also don't understand why buy from expensive places such as APMEX I don't want to reveal my sources but it's not hard to research reputable family owned registered dealers I've gotten all my stacks on or below due to these online coinshops with great prices
Comment from : Luis Donado

1/2 oz is the best fractional imo because of the lowest premium (24) based off the current prices on JM bullionbrbr1/4 is 34br1/10 is 64 brbr1/10 is by far the worst and if you bought 10 coins you'd be paying over $3,200 for an ounce
Comment from : adam zan

teddy pendergrass
I love fractional but my gawd, overage is SO expensive compared to ounce
Comment from : teddy pendergrass

Snails are Dumb
Just purchased a couple 1/10th oz for the first time from (mostly) the profit I made off a big silver piece I got from goodwill In my eyes, I didn't lose money, I got free gold for 10 bucks!
Comment from : Snails are Dumb

Christopher McCormick
Premiums are better on 1/2 oz eagles are better than 1/4s and 1/2 oz eagles have lower mintages than 1/4, 1/10 an 1ozs

I’m weaning myself from 1/10 Au ( unless I see some near 200) but I’ve been stepping up to buying 1/4 Au coins I was surprised to see the Shark Week silver! I still have mine
Comment from : Eli

David Miles
Heck no if I could afford it it would strictly be one ounce coins You could always cut them up if you truly needed to

How long have you been collecting? And how much gold do you own over 25 ounces?
Comment from : Jason Brown

Feta Cheese
Silver will be your fractional, not 1/10 of a gold
Comment from : Feta Cheese

Feta Cheese
But if it's time to sell, would you get some premium back for the 1/10 ounce of gold, or would they pay only spot?br If you get the 1 ounce, don't you get more gold for your money?
Comment from : Feta Cheese

Feef
Silver is for selling Gold is for holding If I need money, I sell my silver
Comment from : Feef

hey were did you get that box? and can you get that same box but to just store 1/4 ounce (slot size that is)

Great/timely information! What do you think about the 1 Gram Coin Sheet in Assay? (ex Maple Leaf) do you think they are easier to deal with than 1/4 coins or do you think they are too small?

Just like you were saying, buy what you can afford, but continue to buy Don’t get so focused on whether or not the market is up or down But if you want, you can use the Gold/Silver Ratio (GSR) to determine whether it’s smarter at this time to invest in gold or silver But keep on investing Like the dealer said, someone will take it no matter what Either you’ll get the intrinsic value of the numismatic, or they’ll at the very least give you bullion value But you’re still going to get something
Comment from : Adam Hampton

Jim Hutchison
Does anyone have any an idea why small gold nuggets are a good choice for stacking??
Comment from : Jim Hutchison

Cyrus the Acceptable
I have decided to diversify into Gold and yes, the fractionals are all I can afford every week or twobrAnd I would rather have fractionals than wait a couple months to buy a whole ounce that I couldn't as easily part with for probably a higher price than it is now
Comment from : Cyrus the Acceptable

AGEs have 1 troy oz of 9999 fine in them, they add additional copper and silver to make them more durable which causes them to end up as 22 carat

Dude I love that box it's like a treasure chest LOL I bought my first half ounce of gold for 500 bucks and I was paying 130 for 1/10 Oz gold Eagles! I'm not buying much now it's hard to pay $230 for something I paid $130 for two years ago! Or $1,000 for something I paid 500 for a couple years ago my dollar cost average is amazing but I'm not buying much at these ridiculous premiums every once in awhile I'll get a 10th Oz eagle but not very often! Great video brother

Subaction
It's disturbing how many of the opinions in these comments appear to be predicated on some societal collapse that reduces us all to bartering being not only possible, but likely I sincerely believe that many of you would make consistently better investment decisions by not overweighing such a tail risk A few percent of your portfolio as precious metals is more than enough insurance against such a scenario Beyond that it's time to admit that you simply like shiny things Not that there's anything wrong with that I like shiny things For your own good though, please, do not lie to yourself

In 2021 I started buying 5 gram bars Reason being I’m trying to stack as many ounces as fast as I can I’m building my gold ounces so in case of an emergency I don’t have to dip into my bank account It takes 31103 grams to equal 1 Troy oz of gold 5 gram bars cost me anywhere from $330-$350 per 5 gram bar I realized the end of 2021 I can acquire 2oz or more of gold a year buying 5gram bars When I I buy 2 5 gram bars twice a month Thanks for the video

geifsanderson
Buying gold is awesome, but the premiums on fractional have always been such a massive turn off If they were proportionally in line with 1oz coins, if buy all day I just don't understand why they're so high, other than people are willing to pay it

EPM, why do you use Rip-Off-Mex for your pricing? I know, you know, and almost everybody (except newbies) knows that they are the highest priced dealer on almost every coin, or bar SD, or better yet, Bold are much more reasonably priced dealers

Speaking of that oldie single you got in that case theredo me a favor if you have the time I came across a lock box that's been handed down and inside is a ton of little treasures including old bills like that The notes are towards the end and I'm still a super noob with my video skills so brace yourself but let me know if you think it's worth sending any of them to get graded or if you see something extremely rare I'm clueless when it comes to old notes Promise its not a ploy for a view Trust me it wouldn't help lol!

i never buy small gold coins, the premiums will add up i did it before in the end with all the premiums i paid for the small gold coins, i can use that to buy an extra oz of gold coin So lesson learnt for me, go save up till u can afford to buy 1 oz gold there are plenty of time to buy gold dun rush into it Just dun listen to ppl online too much! they have their own way of thinking and it's always following the wind one moment buy and one moment sell all rubbish and noises

Savage Stacker
In these times I think most folks are just stacking what they can afford br For the seasoned stacker, lately for myself I’m getting more into the 1/4 oz size It just feels right But if I have the cash on hand I’m always going full ounce especially if I can get it 89 and 99 over spot Luckily for me my LCS prorates all his fractional so 99 divided by what ever fractional I buy br Good video sir stormy !
Comment from : Savage Stacker

Semi Numismatic Guy
Rather depends on your exit strategy for me I have the 70-80 of coins in 1/4oz form but also 20-30 1oz coins that's because I intend to liquidate the gold slowly at retirement, rather than all at one go, to help it lasts and for tax implementations implementations If you are using gold to save for a house say 1oz maybe better
Comment from : Semi Numismatic Guy

Yo Holmes
Save you the timeNO br Fractional Eagles is always the WORST investment br The premiums do not merit wasting your timebr Don't be stupid

I go for one ounce gold coins, 25 and 50 gram sectioned bars, and if there is a good deal, I'll buy fractional or pre '33Fractional gold is now too expensive I was buying 1/10th oz for $185 not three or four years ago Too expensive to go low
Comment from : Caroline Quinn

Tom
1 oz gold always and use silver (rounds or whatever with lowest premium) for the smaller amounts if you need to sell

Comment from : red9man2130

Zhurak
I think the answer is pretty simple, dont buy fractional gold the premiums are just too high 1 oz gold coins are a way better option if you ever need smaller amounts to cash in, thats what silver is for You can easily get all smaller dollar denominations with silver 1 silver, 5oz silver 10oz silver etc I stack silver of all sizes and strictly 1oz or larger gold coins and bars Even a 1/10th gold coin may have too much value to barter with, silver solves that
Comment from : Zhurak

fazdoll
If you're looking for fractional metals for direct barter, you should have mentioned gram bars! The Perth Mint and private mints make 1-, 5-, and 10-gram fractional bars And you made no mention of the Valcambi Combibar breakable bar, which is a sheet of gold that breaks off into pieces The combibar comes in a 20-piece sheet of 20 1-gram pieces, or a 1-ounce sheet of 10 1/10 ounce pieces If you can afford the one-ounce bar, you pay less than half the premium per 1/10 ounce vs the Maple, and you get 10 all at once No, it's not a sovereign coin, but if you're looking to save on premium, it's an option
